I wouldn't trade mine either. Have just fell in love with this rsv

The best thing I have done was to put a Avon cobra radial on the frount it is available in the 150/80/16 frount radial, with a radial ct on back, venture rides like a dream. Gregg

The Valkyrie smoother, quieter, way more powerful, and completely stable, but even with the ultimate seat its not quite as comfortable as the venture. The venture has more comfort, even the interstate valkyrie does not match the comfort of the venture. Its the foot position, which also the wings only down fall. engine wise can not feel, barely can hear the valkyire running, but My friend david pulled up beside me on my valk, one day on his venture he kicked down to fouth and full throttle. I did not down shift just opened the throttle not to wide open, the valkyrie just walked off from the venture, no contest. So we tried my red 2000 rsv against my 97 valkyrie in the 1/4 mile. The valk crossed the line, the venture was maybe 2/3 of 1/4. Of course running side by side on a road trip every gas stop the valkyrie burns aleast a full gallon more of gas, and on a valk at 150 miles you had better be at a station or get ready to walk, they guzzle gas. at 80 mph my valk got 27 mpg. It would do 40 if you did not get over 50 mph. I sold my valkyrie to my nephew and bought a 2004 venture because of the comfort, mileage, radio and cruise control, and I think the white venture is just a clean beatiful bike. and brett wanted my valk so bad he and he already had a 98. If wanted slick smooth gut wrenching power with comfort, and don't mind the gas, by the valkyrie. I am 50 now I want comfort, and friend said the venture was like addiction, gets you hooked and can't give it up. GREGG

The cobra radial on the frount with radial ct on back, is what I had on red, my 2000 RSV, In my opinion it made the sweetest interstate riding machine there can be. ( even matches my brotheras 1800 wing) I did not keep the bike long enough to cover all riding conditions but what I did was great. The guy that owns it now loves it. This is a frount designed radial 150/80/16, Avon cobra. I will put one on the 04 rsv as soon as I can get one. Money is not free enough to throw away the frount brickstone, it still has tread. But within the next month I will have an avon cobra on the frount. I believe it is the perfect mate for the kumho car tire on the rear.

This morning on the way to work on I-75, the fast lane was paved one layer higher than the rest of the highway. (why the state left this road like that I don't know) You have to cross about 1 1/2 inch rise in the pavement to get in the fast lane. I did notice a small increase in the wiggle the bike does when crossing over the mt, but the bike seems to cross the lip better, the rear does not hesitate coming over the ridge. I just like the kumho better than mt. freedom of the road for all Gregg

There is a great difference between seats, i can ride have ridden 700 miles in one day no problem. However on our last long outing, my house to Key West and back in 3 days 1575 mile round trip. We were coming home, and my nephew was ridding my brothers 1500 Goldwing he asked to ride my venture so we switched. If anyone wants to know the true attrabutes of a goldwing ride anything esle 800 miles then get on a wing. You will know just how comfortable a goldwing really is on the factory seat. I felt like I had taken a 2 hour rest stop and could have went on home. My brother's 05 1800 is more comfortable than the 1500. Ok back to the rstd, try an ultimate seat on it, they are the most comfortable seats I have ever rode, Des does not make one for the venture, but they do for RSTD. Never heard of anyone complain about an Ultimate seat. www.ultimateseats.ca If go to a bike event where they are they will let you try one. Gregg

This is my second RSV with car tire, 2004 white, I have put 500 miles on it in the past few days. LIke it much better than the nexum. The ride is 1000% better than the brickstone that was on the back. And when aggressively taking curves, the car tire does not have that slipping feels that a bike tire has ( I feel like I am tring to perform drifting, especially on the bricks). I put her through a curve near my house that is 6 degree, reverse incline, smooth e-mix pavement. scraped the floorboards above 70 mph with no rear end slip. Otherwise I can not tell any difference in handling slow speed, high speed, I just don't find any drawbacks with the kumho. I am not trying to sway anybody to a car to each his own, just reports my observations. Freedon of the road for all. Gregg

we thought you got a ct. enjoy Gregg

I can understand wanting a new bike, but why go down so low, ( thinking of buying a harley, could be temperary insanity) just kidding. Buy the kawasaki I'm curious need an actual owner report on one. But remember there is a lot miles left in that venture. freedom of the road for all Gregg

Do you have a wing, the car tire I put on my valkyrie seated at 45 lbs. I saw one put on a 1800 wing it seated less than 50 lbs. I think its just the yamaha wheels that hard to seat.

I am going to put a new seal in, I just repaired it to get by until then. No leak so far, but I will check the level closely until the new seal is installed. thanks for the responces Gregg

There was a small amount of grease in the spline area but no oil, the oil came when I turned the pumpkin with that end down the some oil ran up there. But most of the splines were dry. GREGG

Today when changing the tire on my 04 venture I decided to lube the shaft, when I pulled the tire off, to change it there was very little grease on the splines. when I pulled the rear end, the engine end of the drive shaft had very little grease on it. So I tried to pull the shaft from the pumpkin but could not, so I took a pair of vise grip pliers and grabbed the shaft then tapped the vise grips with a rubber hammer, shaft popped right out, but the seal tore on one side. I glued it with epoxy, greased the splines( which were dry) and went to put it back together. the rear end was lying on the bench with the splined area turned down, and oil came out. It was dry of oil when I first took it apart. Is this normal. Gregg

Got the kumho on love it, running 36 lbs, no handling problems, I swear the only difference I can tell form the MC tire, is this tire rides a 100% better and the rear end is more stable in the curves, mc feel like they slip or slide in a hard curve, but the car tire seems to grip rock steady. Gregg

Just put the new kumho on, had some problems seating, after the classic we were gun shy, but we got the kumho lubed enough that it popped out about 80 lbs. Put it on the bike and man what a diffierence from the brickstone. Bike rides great, no handling problems at all. Running 36 lbs. However when I pulled my shaft to gease it, the seal tore a the pumpkin end. epoxy on the tear, put back to gether ordered seal from bike bandit. Will order a cobra radial for the frount shortly. gregg

yamaha warrior comes from the factory with a radial on back and bias on frount. many of the custom choppers do the same.

Like every other day I rode to work, Has to be a hurricane to stop me. Well I won't leave home in a hurricane, but if its a mile away I'm good. freedom of the road for all Gregg

I had ordered a classic radial, cooper built tire, liked the tread, but it blew when we tried to seat the bead. So I order the kumho like the pictures of it you posted. Will put it on this wednesday, I am going to run the frount tire for a while, before I order the Avon Cobra radial for the frount. freedom of the road for all. Gregg

Well I just bought a 2004 with 8800 miles, so I've only got 191,200 miles before time to trade, Yamaha needs to hurry, so there will be a good low miles used one when I get ready to trade. If I live long enough I intend to see this hit 200,000 miles, you know to get my moneys worth. Gregg
-
I ride to work everyday. Gregg
-
I ordered a classic radial, dealer said it was built by cooper, I told the tire dealer ( who I have known for years) to lube the bead with murphy lube, but he did not and blew the tire trying to seat it. so now I have a khumo ordered, will try again monday. My ears are still ringing. Gregg

I think the 1500 wing will handle the same tire as the valkyrie will a 205/55/16 with no mods to the bike, or a 205/60/16 but the clearance of the fender mounting bolts has to be checked for this size. Gregg
