  1. Yes Annie I'w still married, been so for 29 years, still employed, I am an Intensive Care RN, for now we are still in demand. It is seems like every thing I really like they quit making. Gregg
  2. You know I had been told one time I could not ride with a group because I did not have a harley. The thing is I am sure that the highways, country roads, city streets, all belong to the taxpayers, and I pay taxes, so I will ride where I want, when I want to. I'll bet everyone will agree with that one. Gregg
  3. I have proudly cellabrated the 22 aniversery of my 29 birthday. Or if I have to say it I'm 51, wife is 45. girls 22 and 16 But my delusion is 29, but my oldest says I have to give that up when she gets there. Gregg
  4. They have good price and pictures of the wiring harness in the parts section. Might give you an idea of how to repair the wiring, also partsunlimited has some universal rectifiers. Gregg
  5. If you want some help, I am in Ashburn, we are not that far apart, given me a call. I am off wed thru fri every week, and off every other weekend, have a shop and tools. Gregg
  6. Prayers for your family, have the doctors told you there is no hope. The advise in the post above is the best I have seen, the reason patients are sent home for the hospital is there is nothing they can for the flu, antibiotics are usless, and the only outcome is to spead the flu through the hospital. The sad fact is even in you son's case, what they are doing is providing life support and treating the symptoms as best they can until his body can fight off the virus or the virus runs its course. Again follow the advise in the post above, it will do more for you than any meds, you have been exposed, so take precautions. There is always hope Gregg
  7. My feeling are if you don't want me and my friends and family, ( no matter what they ride or where there membership is) guess what you don't want me. Welcome to our site we like everybody, we might pick on you, but that's all in fun. Freedom of the road for all Gregg by the way if you show up at a venture riders meeting, don't just look for Ventures.
  8. Post a reply to every thread on the first page of the watering hole and we will upgrade your status. Gregg
  9. Since you have change the rear to the kumho, change the frount to the Avon Cobra 150/80r/16 radial, handling and stopping ability is greatly improved, ride is smooth as glass, go to the darkside and read the post on the cobra, myself, bloodbought, and gunboat have posted about it there in combo with the radial on rear. gregg
  10. I agree with the dragonslayer, call me whore, I need to be paid. I your paying or feeding I answer to anything send cash to -------- Gregg
  11. I was told a the Yamaha tent in daytona, by one of the Yamaha reps last year 08 at biketoberfest, that the RSV was yamaha's answer to the Electra Glide Ultra which appearance has basically remained the same for 50 years, there have been engine upgrades and modernizing of appearance but the a 1950 looks like a 2008. And Yamaha has adopted that theory for the Venture, the basic look will not change. There maybe upgrades. Like I said take it with a grain of salt Gregg
  12. I run 0 in both
  13. Yep I'll claim in on the title, time to put in my overbearing, one sided, egotisticle opinion. Takes one to know one. Gregg:innocent:
  14. If money no object, Buy a new v-max, and transplant the engine into a RSV, would be prefect for me
  15. Before he gave up his yamaha dealership, Jim Martin had a 2005 roadliner, with the corbin fairing, xm, cruise, corbin hard bags, corbin seat, no trunk but the bike was decked out otherwise. I think it would have been a great cruiser, I can see where Yamaha might full dress a Roadliner as its new touring bike. Would direct compitition for the voyager. Gregg
  16. I prefer to ride the road from franklin to bryson city, almost as many curves and less traffic. Hwy 28 I think, the couple of times we rode it, did not see any toopers, of county patrols. gregg
  17. Good thought, I think I will do my 04 RSV, like my 96 caravan, 252,000 miles and still going. My daughter is constantly telling me I need a new one, I told when this one dies, she came but dad you keep reviving it. So that means I got 234,000 to go on the Venture. I've put 8000 on it since June, that shoulb be about 20,000 to 25,000 a year, that should give me a good 10 years. Gregg
  18. Well it seems that way to me,
  19. Like eveything else, I bought a Valkyrie and honda quit making them, found bluesjeans I really liked and duckhead quit making that style, earthshoe made a shoe that was really comfortable to me and guess what, I bought 2 pair and they quit making them. I should have known when I bought the Venture it was all over for the RSV. Just shoot me Gregg:doh:
  20. Don I agree safety first, and most of the time safety has a lot do with how comfortable a rider is with his machine. If something is making the rider feel that his bike is not stable, then he/she is not safe. I did not mean to imply that anyone should ride anything they are uncomfortable with, just trying to figure out what could be causing the problems. Logically the RSV should handle the same, with the same set up, me and you are having the same results, so are a couple of the other guys. It would be nice if we could pin point the exact problem. I know both my 2000 and the 04 had bias ply tires on frount when I first put the radial on back, It did work and was ok, but was not near a stable as with radials on both ends, the 04 with the kumho and the brickstone on frount was terrible. The cobra fixed all my problems. But its like pulling a trailer, I am not comfortable pulling one with a bike, so I am not going to be pulling one. If had the problems some are having and it scared me, I would take the car tire off and go back to the MC tire. Like you said its not for everyone. Again I did not mean to imply for anyone to do anything they are not 100% comfortable doing. Gregg
  21. My bike seems quieter, and does shift better with the delo 400. Ofcourse this is only 200 miles, will post again, with 3000 miles on the oil, will pull a sample just before I change at 5000 miles. Gregg
  22. excellent performing machine, power, braking, handles like crotch rocket. Gregg
  23. That tire doesn't look that bad to me, same tire that on the wife's roadie, it did not have a center tread to start with soild down the center when new. Ofcourse it may look worse in person than in a picture. Bottom line though, you decide on what you want to ride. I will say if you put a radial on back, put a Avon Cobra Radial on frount. You will love what it does for the bikes handling, and especially stopping ability. Gregg
  24. I was just wandering about the tires, Thats another strike against bias ply tires, the Voyager and Goldwings with abs are riding on radial tires. I personelly know puting a Avon Cobra on frount, even going from the avon venom(not a radial) greatly improves stopping ability, and you can get michielin radials for both ends. I was looking at bikebandit and they have the Commanders in radials, or so it says on there site. The Voyager will stop on a dime, and the intergated braking system disengagae when you a below 12 mph, so you can use the brakes seperately. Kawasaki needs to address the heat problem, at the riders right knee and it will be a great machine. For me though I will stay with the RSV, I have ridden Wings, (the 1800 is the cadilac of motorcycles hands down) HD Ultra's(Couldn't give me one if I had to keep it, a pure piece of junk), had not had the oppertunity to ride a vision yet but I doubt then I will trade. Again that's just me Gregg
  25. I love a good harley bashing, always wanted to do a harley roast. Think I will, one day,
