need to try new clutch basket
Freebird replied to stareied's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Sounds like he is giving you the run around. First of all, the clutch basket retails for about 250.00 and you can pick them up online for about 175.00. The second thing, is your bike still under warranty? If so, this should be a warranty issue. Many here have had them changed out under warranty. Third, it's crazy that he is telling you that when it comes in, it may not be an "I" basket. There is a specific part number for the "I" basket. He is correct in that it may or may not correct the problem but the majority of people have seen some improvement to a LOT of improvement. -
Houston, we almost had a problem !!

I had an '89 a couple of years ago that had the pod filters. It also had the VBoost and etc. and VMAX heads. Here is a thread on it and the second page shows pictures of the filters. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35264&highlight=vmax&page=2 -
Well, I've been on the road since early this morning. It was working fine when I left this morning. I'm in a hotel in Rochester, NY now and it still seems OK from here.

I don't know how much they are at Partshark but they are 4.74 at boats.net http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-90338-11152-00.html -
No Marcarl....I've bought special paper just for you.

Don, Thanks for letting us know. You have a lot of friends here who really do care about you. I hate the "C" word about as much as any other word I know but I am encouraged by the fact that they have identified the possibility at an early stage. I have confidence that you are going to be just fine and we are going to offer up plenty or prayers to back that up. Take Care, Don

Corrected PayPal address for 2011 rally donations
Freebird replied to Black Owl's topic in Watering Hole
I think it is OK. Mine was still sitting in my account and marked pending so apparently nobody is using that incorrect email address. I cancelled it and submitted it again.- 9 replies

I think you are BOTH right.

HA.....you think that was amazing...you should see how much TP is used here on Maintenance Day.

Those pictures are making me home sick. Wish I was there with you. Looks like a great time.
-
Here you go Dan....I guess I just had to draw you a picture.
-
Doesn't do me a lot of good. Most of them that are near me are actually marinas and not at all convenient.

Those of you who have met me know that I have NO accent...well...unless you consider country hick an accent.

That is a great explanation Lewis. I will also add that the situation is similar for other rallies. A lot of the prizes that are given away are donated by our generous vendors. Though the trailers are not donated, we do generally get a nice discount on it. This enables us to raffle it off and then add any profits to various funds such as the flower funds, out of pocket expense funds for the future International Rally, etc. Giving cash as the prize would not work well in these instances.

This is good news. I would hate it if this site didn't work with IE9. Not sure what I would do to address it.
-
Did you try this site? I hope it's compatible because I have no plans at this point to make any changes here to make it so. I think that Microsoft screwed up this time. IE9 will only work on Windows 7. I am not running Windows 7 and have no plans to in the near future. XP works great for me. The new versions of Firefox and Google Chrome support Windows 7 but also XP and Vista. I am now running Firefox 4 and am pleased with it so am certainly not going to upgrade my operating system just so I can run IE9. So, hopefully this site will work with IE9 but if it doesn't, I will just have to recommend that folks who insist on using IE9 also keep a copy of Firefox or Google Chrome handy for coming here.

Unless I missed it, you didn't say which model the Tom Tom is. I would think that most any of them would be worth the $30.00. That being said, the no external speaker output on their motorcycle units was the killer for me. My wife bought me a Rider II a few years ago for Christmas. When I noticed that it didn't have the speaker output, I returned it and ended up buying a Garmin. With the external speaker output you can plug it right into the aux jack on the RSV and hear everything through the speakers. The Rider II would only work with Bluetooth. Some here have Bluetooth headsets and really like them but I have no desire at ALL to change over to Bluetooth. Just something else that I have to worry about charging.

Folks, it's time for this thread to be locked. When it degenerates to the point that it has become members sniping at each other, then that is when it has gone far enough. I think that people have made their positions heard on this issue and don't see what else could be added. The information has been put out here. You all have the right to choose how you wish to use it.

LOL.......we've all been guilty of that.

Redneck got it exactly right. It is correct though that it will still show up on the home page if you are one that starts there. You do NOT have to click on it though.

I have that Corbin backrest on my '99 and my wife really likes it. No, it is not the same as true armrests but she can lean back and rest her elbows on it. I agree that trying one would be best but I really like ours and so does Eileen.

No, it is not possible for it to show unread if they have opened and read it. The only may it may look that way is if they read it via the email notification and then sent you an email or PM by itself and not actually opened and replied to the original. Confirmed just means that they opened it. It does not indicate that they replied.

I don't think I've ever seen a "chalk one up" smilie...I'll have to look around. As for changing the line under your signature, are you hitting the save button after you change it? I think it's a save button...it's been a while since I tried. Anyway....nice pictures. Looks like a great time. I've ridden most of those areas and they are hard to beat.
