Yes, it seems to work just fine if you simply enter the date into the search field. You will likely get better results if you use the "google" option int he search drop down menu and then select "venturerider". Just enter the date as you see it formatted at the top of the threads and it seems to work OK.

I'm not aware of such an option. I'll take a look tonight and see if it is something that I can add.

It is not really uncommon. I've seen many such reports over the years. My '99 cracked in the same place but I was way out of warranty. I have heard several reports where Yamaha replaced them under warranty and also reports of some dealers claiming that it wasn't covered. I certainly SHOULD be covered so fight for it if your bike is still under warranty.

Venture handle bars to RSTD handle bars the easy way
Freebird replied to Bubber's topic in Watering Hole
I wish I could help but I installed the Flanders bars on mine and I don't know how they compare. I replace the clutch, brake and throttle cables with SS. They were all 2" longer than stock.- 19 replies

Have you look at Howard's Horns? They use the larger trumpets if that is what you are looking for. I've seen them installed on a lot of Ventures of the years before the more compact models got popular. http://www.howardshorns.com/

Well, I got it removed but it took some research. First I deleted the partitions and then resized my Windows 7 partition to recover the space. Then I booted with a repair disk and ran bootrec.exe /fixmbr to remove the boot loader. All is back to normal again. It will be a LONG time before I ever do that again.

OK...I installed mint on my laptop. Dual boot with Windows 7. I checked it out for a while and am just no all that impressed. I just like Windows 7. Now I wish I hadn't installed it. Removing it is going to be a major pain.

There's actually a little more to it than that. There was a seat available through the Yamaha Accessories catalog that was made by Corbin. It had the stitching shown in exrsa1's pictures and included the embossed star on the passenger backrest. After Corbin's contract ran out with Yamaha, they started offering the seat direct from Corbin. The seat and backrest that came direct from Corbin did not have the stitching and the star. I have a seat direct from Corbin. It is smooth with no stitching at all and no star. The passenger backrest is also smooth. So the backrest pictured will not match any of the OEM Yamaha seats from any year. It will also not match the Corbin seat as purchased from Corbin. It will ONLY match the Yamaha Accessories Dual-Touring seat that could only be bought through Yamaha. I THINK that Yamaha has discontinued that seat. I'm surprised that Yamaha is still selling the backrest but no longer have the matching seat. I'm assuming that they are just trying to sell the backrests that they have left over but they are NOT going to match any seat that you can purchase.

He may be mad. He has been around here for a long time and has a lot of friends here. I don't know what got into him but the last few messages that he posted were nothing but political. He is very well aware of the few rules that we have here but seemed to want to push it as far as he could. After I deleted his last one, I sent him a PM and asked him what the heck was going on. He never replied and as far as I know, hasn't been back since then. This is not the first time he has done this though.

I've used Itunes but I've probably bought more off Amazon.

My wife likes it also. I think she likes the extended wings more than anything because she can rest her elbows on it. Changing it out is very easy. Just 3 nuts to remove if I remember correctly.

Well, I decided to take a look at Mint after I read the posts here. I downloaded it and ran it from the CD. It was interesting so I thought about installing it and giving it a try. First I decided to check the MDS on my download though and it didn't match. So I downloaded it again. The MDS on the new download matched perfectly. So I tried to boot with it and it won't boot. It runs a couple lines of code and then goes to a "ready" prompt and stops. I can still boot from the bad one but not from the good one. Tried burning another disk with the supposedly good one and same problem. So...I said to myself...the heck with it.

There was a time when, as you say, the Odyssey got the best reviews. I had one and it was a good battery and lasted about 5 years. The preferred battery now seems to be the Deka though. Higher cranking amps, great reviews and cheaper.

I don't know guys. If I were in the market for a rack, I might take a chance on it for the money. Stainless Steel is a plus and the seller does have 100% positive feedback. I think there is a risk but maybe one that I'd be willing to take. The thing that is strange is that it appears that he WAS selling what appears to be the same rack for $109.00. Maybe he just ended up buying too many and is just trying to recoup some of his investment. I don't know....

By the way, if you just want to look at and compare a lot of different guns, drive over to Fin, Feather and Fur just off I71 in Ashland. They have a pretty decent selection and their prices are actually pretty fair. I didn't buy m Glock there because they were on order at the time but they were actually cheaper on it than where I finally found it in stock. A week after I bought mine, they called to let me know that they had gotten them in.

I have a Glock 36. It is a .45 caliber. Great gun and they will take a LOT of abuse and just keep on shooting. My only issue is that they really are NOT attractive guns. I've owned a lot of guns in my life and while the most important thing is that they work when you need them too, I also love the fit, finish, craftsmanship of a nice firearm. I don't get THAT satisfaction out of the Glock. It is a purpose built firearm that works like it should but I get little pleasure out of looking at it. I've thought about selling it and replacing it with a Kimber.

I've never owned one but have come close a couple of times. I think they are great cars. I love the CVT drive train. I almost bought one 2 years ago but it was newer and a lot more money. I ended up with a new 2011 Kia Sorento for just slightly more money and it came with the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty. This is our second Sorento and we have had very good experiences with them. If the money had been no object though, I would have gone with a new Murano. I helped my son get another car a few months ago. He ended up with a 2008 Altima Coupe. It also has the CVT drive train and he loves it. One good thing about the Nissan is that it does not use a timing belt. Most now use a timing belt with a recommended change at somewhere around 100,000 miles. It is an expensive maintenance item if you have it done and a pretty big job if you do it yourself. That is not the case with Nissan so you avoid that expense.

No problem folks. F4 has been on the road and just got back yesterday. I got an email from them last night telling me that the announcement is coming soon. I told him that the Indians were getting restless.
-
Heck no...I want to RIDE it.

I KNOW you will love the Harley but I still drool over your RSV.
-
Very nice. Hope you come to Maintenance Day so I can try it out.

Yep, that is the place to do it. Now I'm not crazy about those splicing connectors but a lot of people use them with no problems. I assume that you will use some type of pigtail like a trailer wiring connector so that you can unplug it if and when you want to. I would certainly recommend it.

Just to make sure it is clear, LOWER fairing, beside your left foot.

No, you have to look at how it is configured. 1/4" shorter actually raises the rear of the bike. Not just 1/4" though. The 1/4" shorter links raise the rear of the bike almost an inch.
