  1. There's actually a little more to it than that. There was a seat available through the Yamaha Accessories catalog that was made by Corbin. It had the stitching shown in exrsa1's pictures and included the embossed star on the passenger backrest. After Corbin's contract ran out with Yamaha, they started offering the seat direct from Corbin. The seat and backrest that came direct from Corbin did not have the stitching and the star. I have a seat direct from Corbin. It is smooth with no stitching at all and no star. The passenger backrest is also smooth. So the backrest pictured will not match any of the OEM Yamaha seats from any year. It will also not match the Corbin seat as purchased from Corbin. It will ONLY match the Yamaha Accessories Dual-Touring seat that could only be bought through Yamaha. I THINK that Yamaha has discontinued that seat. I'm surprised that Yamaha is still selling the backrest but no longer have the matching seat. I'm assuming that they are just trying to sell the backrests that they have left over but they are NOT going to match any seat that you can purchase.
  2. He may be mad. He has been around here for a long time and has a lot of friends here. I don't know what got into him but the last few messages that he posted were nothing but political. He is very well aware of the few rules that we have here but seemed to want to push it as far as he could. After I deleted his last one, I sent him a PM and asked him what the heck was going on. He never replied and as far as I know, hasn't been back since then. This is not the first time he has done this though.
  3. I've used Itunes but I've probably bought more off Amazon.
  4. My wife likes it also. I think she likes the extended wings more than anything because she can rest her elbows on it. Changing it out is very easy. Just 3 nuts to remove if I remember correctly.
  5. Well, I decided to take a look at Mint after I read the posts here. I downloaded it and ran it from the CD. It was interesting so I thought about installing it and giving it a try. First I decided to check the MDS on my download though and it didn't match. So I downloaded it again. The MDS on the new download matched perfectly. So I tried to boot with it and it won't boot. It runs a couple lines of code and then goes to a "ready" prompt and stops. I can still boot from the bad one but not from the good one. Tried burning another disk with the supposedly good one and same problem. So...I said to myself...the heck with it.
  6. There was a time when, as you say, the Odyssey got the best reviews. I had one and it was a good battery and lasted about 5 years. The preferred battery now seems to be the Deka though. Higher cranking amps, great reviews and cheaper.
  7. I don't know guys. If I were in the market for a rack, I might take a chance on it for the money. Stainless Steel is a plus and the seller does have 100% positive feedback. I think there is a risk but maybe one that I'd be willing to take. The thing that is strange is that it appears that he WAS selling what appears to be the same rack for $109.00. Maybe he just ended up buying too many and is just trying to recoup some of his investment. I don't know....
  8. By the way, if you just want to look at and compare a lot of different guns, drive over to Fin, Feather and Fur just off I71 in Ashland. They have a pretty decent selection and their prices are actually pretty fair. I didn't buy m Glock there because they were on order at the time but they were actually cheaper on it than where I finally found it in stock. A week after I bought mine, they called to let me know that they had gotten them in.
  9. I have a Glock 36. It is a .45 caliber. Great gun and they will take a LOT of abuse and just keep on shooting. My only issue is that they really are NOT attractive guns. I've owned a lot of guns in my life and while the most important thing is that they work when you need them too, I also love the fit, finish, craftsmanship of a nice firearm. I don't get THAT satisfaction out of the Glock. It is a purpose built firearm that works like it should but I get little pleasure out of looking at it. I've thought about selling it and replacing it with a Kimber.
  10. I've never owned one but have come close a couple of times. I think they are great cars. I love the CVT drive train. I almost bought one 2 years ago but it was newer and a lot more money. I ended up with a new 2011 Kia Sorento for just slightly more money and it came with the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty. This is our second Sorento and we have had very good experiences with them. If the money had been no object though, I would have gone with a new Murano. I helped my son get another car a few months ago. He ended up with a 2008 Altima Coupe. It also has the CVT drive train and he loves it. One good thing about the Nissan is that it does not use a timing belt. Most now use a timing belt with a recommended change at somewhere around 100,000 miles. It is an expensive maintenance item if you have it done and a pretty big job if you do it yourself. That is not the case with Nissan so you avoid that expense.
  11. No problem folks. F4 has been on the road and just got back yesterday. I got an email from them last night telling me that the announcement is coming soon. I told him that the Indians were getting restless.
  12. Heck no...I want to RIDE it.
  13. I KNOW you will love the Harley but I still drool over your RSV.
  14. Very nice. Hope you come to Maintenance Day so I can try it out.
  15. Yep, that is the place to do it. Now I'm not crazy about those splicing connectors but a lot of people use them with no problems. I assume that you will use some type of pigtail like a trailer wiring connector so that you can unplug it if and when you want to. I would certainly recommend it.
  16. Just to make sure it is clear, LOWER fairing, beside your left foot.
  17. No, you have to look at how it is configured. 1/4" shorter actually raises the rear of the bike. Not just 1/4" though. The 1/4" shorter links raise the rear of the bike almost an inch.
  18. You are welcome. I hope it all works out for you.
  19. I just sent him an email.
  20. There is very little difference. You will see it when you remove the stock links and lay them on the new ones. The new ones will only be about 1/4" shorter than the stock links. When I say 1/4" shorter, I'm talking about center to center between the holes.
  21. I bought the 17KW for a specific business reason. I was putting in a aquaculture system to raise yellow perch as a side business. It was essential that tank heaters, filtration, heat and etc. did NOT go down for more than about an hour or thousands of dollars worth of fish would be dead. Once I finally determined that it just wasn't going to work out, I no longer had a use for it. I finally sold it a few months ago. It was actually the propane costs of heating the water, building, running the generator and etc. that caused me to scrap the entire project. Our power has been very reliable and I don't even have a backup generator of any kind now. There has been one time in 12 years that I could have used one. If I ever get another one, it will indeed be a smaller gasoline unit to keep a few lights and a couple of emergency space heaters on.
  22. Actually, 8 is 3 or 4 years old now. IE9 is the current browser if your system supports it. 10 is not too far away.
  23. Yours must have been different than mine. I had a Generac 17 KW propane unit. It came with the transfer switch and distribution box. I am not a licensed electrical contractor but I do have a lot of electrical experience. Installation was very simple for me and I did not have to get into the meter at all. All connections were between my original distribution panel and the standby panel.
  24. I guess it is just what you get used to. I download Maxthon and tried it for maybe 5 minutes and deleted it. I had never used it before and according to the link, was Version 3. I admit that I probably didn't give it enough of a chance but it just wasn't doing it for me. I just really like Firefox and have had no issues with it. I've got the latest version of IE installed as well as Chrome but always end up going back to Firefox.
  25. That's what I was thinking Eddie. He says that almost everything in his house uses Propane so I'm assuming that he doesn't have natural gas. I can tell you, as high as Propane is, it is going to cost you a BUNDLE to run that thing. I personally think that you are overreaching. In my opinion, the purpose of a backup generator is to run the most essential items. Most don't come with enough circuits to do everything that you are mentioning. I had a 17KW propane fueled backup generator that I installed for backup power for a project that I was working on in the greenhouse. I quickly realized that I was NOT going to be able to afford to run it for very long. Installation wasn't a big deal.
