  1. You guys have taken sone good pics, I know its kinda hard seeing the Ventures in the cold like that, but they dont like to be penned up in a garage either! So get out and ride em! Brian
  2. Congrats! and Best Wishes!!! we were almost there for your wedding we were on a toss up whether we went for a cruise to the south Caribbean on Jan14 or Jan25th , but we chose the 14th. We are cruisn on the Norwegian Dawn Brian

  4. Happy Birthday Paul!!! you old fart!!!! I hope youre getting some ride time in wheile youre out west. Ya gotta quit working on those bikes long enuff to ride sometime, dontcha? Brian
  5. I think Kittys would look good washing G1's too. But Ill hafta let Outkast be the final judge of that. The carpet makes a world of difference getting the bike in and out of the trailer, and you need a piece long enuff to go about halfway up the ramp and about 10 feet on the snow or the back tire just spins in the snow. Once you got the bike going in snow though its ok but ya gotta keep some speed up to be stable if theres and ruts or car tracks. Brian
  6. I dunno for sure, but I think CBC has done that already with pro hockey players, called battle of the blades. I dont watch many reality contest shows, but I am fairly sure that one was done. Sorry to burst your hockey bubble....... found it you can watch it online at http://www.cbc.ca/battle/ Brian

  10. As it seems most of the continent has had more than enough snow to go around, I thought it might be a good idea to see if we can get folks to post their best Venture in the snow picture. OOPS!!!! that last one snuck by me...... Brian
  11. Yeah, but then you would have a mac......... Brian
  12. I think youre kidding yourself........mods are never done..... Brian
  13. The best thing is to make sure your antivirus program is up to date. There are a couple of viruses that can take over a friends machine and then it harvest any email addresses in their machine and then sends an infected email to everyone under a made up name. I would download and install a free program called malwarebytes and run it to clean up your computer. I run it on mine about twice a month and it always finds at least a couple of files of malware. I run it in addition to my antivirus program find it here [ame=http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=contentMain;contentBody;1d]Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com[/ame] Brian
  14. No, I dont think he said US he might have said YOU.............. Brian Kreg, your a/v program should have caught that on opening, double check your settings and ensure its updating frequently.(at least daily,,,sometimes on laptops that arent used the A/v gets outdated as we shut them down for a long time and then get infected with a new virus.) It looks like you musta clicked on one of those FAKE antivirus sites and downloaded the crap onto your system here is the info http://trojan-killer.net/hdd-low-fake-how-to-remove-hdd-low-virus/
  15. darn! missed another one.....I gotta pay more attention.... Brian:confused24:
  16. I just downloaded the manuals for the 85-85's to my computer and because they were pdf format it was easy to upload to the sd card I had in the Kobo expansion slot. this will make it handy to work on the bike when you can have then manuals with you all the time. Brian
  17. We will hafta see if we can get the manuals converted to epub format and Dan will be content for months.....lol Brian
  18. But.....Why? its gonna hafta be played around with to get it to work, and it might always be buggy running on the Dell hardware......Why not just put windows 7 on, it runs great and uses way less ram and space than Vista. Brian
  19. I know that Rocket uses SKype to keep in touch with a lot of us, and the quality of his calls are always good when he calls me. Brian
  20. My ISP is using VOIP and I switched from the telco a couple of years ago saving lots of bucks monthly, but keep in mind if the power goes down you may not have a phone depending how things are set up with your supplier, mine uses a UPS Battery box to keep my phone up in case of a 2 hour outage. We made the change at work and quality is great, and features are better, with a cost savings, but from administrative point of view it costs us a lot of time. Brian
  21. I got a Kobo for Christmas and you just download stuff to it using your wirelessl connection like your laptop does, or, it hooks up to your computer so you can shop forbooks online and then sync them to the Kodo. The screen looks like paper and ink so its real easy to read and you get super long battery life as it only works when changing pages or uploading stuff. The Kobo was easy to set up to my wireless, and its nice and light and a bit smaller than the Kindle. It doesnt have the Qwerty keyboard like the KIndle but its still prett easy inputting info using the onscreen keyboard. (its not a touch screen you use the controller in the bottom right corner) It comes loaded with about 100 books, but new books are CHeap compared to paper books. I downloaded Ken Folletts Fall of Giants for 5.99. I also get my daily local newspaper and PC Magazine downloaded to it, and its gonna be great not having to take all the old newspapers out to the recyclers. 22. I got a wonderful evening over at my moms new condo, with my mom, brother and sisterinlaw, sister and her kids, and Joanne. It was great to just serve up a pot luck of hors douvres and finger food, relax and enjoy everyones company. This year to get away from the commercialization, we did a sort of an auction where everyone had to bring a possesion of their own (not new) that they valued, it had to be wrapped in newspaper, and then one by one we chose from the pile. But we had a choice when it was our pick to take any opened gift in the room or from the pile of unopened gifts. There was a great selection of family treasures, and it made for some great stories some that were almost forgotten as the gifts were opened....(or taken away...lol) Brian
  23. Sorry I am not sure what youre asking for, Are you wondering about the passing light bar to add to headlights, or something else? Brian
  24. what brand of wireless equipment do you guys use? We are in the middle of doing a Cisco wireless rollout and also using their WAAS modules to optimize our speeds to 50 schools in town. Brian
  25. I ran restaurants, hotels and finally worked in commission sales until the retailer (Eaton's) I worked for closed up in 1998. I thought it was the end of the world, or at least close to it, until I started looking around and talked to a Job counsellor with the Provincial govt. She asked me what I liked to do and informed that i was a good candidate for a computer networking course and there was a big demand in that field at that time. She also got me into a mature student program that paid for 80%of my course if I was to pass it. So I went back to school when i was 40 and it was tough trying to work enough hours to support 3 kids and a wife, and still have time to complete a one year course ahead of schedule. In the long run it was a great move, my wages went way up and i am working mon-friday. So as scary as things look to you right now, when you get into it, it wont be too bad at all, and when you get out the other end, youll look back and wonder why things looked so intimidating. Brian
