  1. nope my garage door opened in any weather, up to and incuding -40,.....but you have to use thinner greases on any slides, rollers etc. a few years ago i was in a new to me house where the previous owner had used a thck wheel bearing grease on the slide that the chain pull was running on and my door opener didnt work. I basically sprayed the suspect areas with wd40 to dilute the thick grease and i was fine in no time. BTW i noticed this morning that you all in GA were colder than us up here in Saskatchewan were. I feel sorry for ya, if youre not ready for the cold it feels worse than it really is. Brian
  2. I got mine from partshark.com......Mine weeps a bit whenever there is a big temperature change, even after the metal impeller was installed. I think its a real common issue, and as long as mine doesnt ever increase to more than the tablespoon or 2, I aint doin anything with it as it only leaks when the temp drops below freezing. Brian
  3. its great that you got out for a ride, i sure wish I could, its been a long time since last July that ive ridden. I am so envious... I saw a few shots about all the rain out there, and I hope it hasnt affected you or anyone you know. Brian
  4. Thats Good news!!! Go for it and enjoy! I sure wish I could!!! Brian
  5. I hope ya have a heater that doesnt vent carbon monoxide, I would hate to hear of ya getting gassed because of a bad heater. Becareful with that indoor heating!!! Sorry for hijacking a thread. Brian
  6. thanks for that link and info. I knew there were quite a few Canadian guys had gone to Nam, but I didnt realize it was 40,000. That would have been volunteer then as we didnt have draft since ww2 was over. Thanks to everyone (American, Canadian or any service personnel) who has servered in Nam, Afghanistan, Iraq, or anywhere. Brian
  7. I remembered seeing this on Alberta Clippers scoot, and it looked great! He had said that he had made his own pod, maybe you could see if he has a mold, or some info that would help you out. here is his thread about it. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=33963 Brian

  12. It looks like youre ok for seafoam in the crankcase, but I am thinking that it might be best to leave it in for fairly short intervals, IMHO http://www.seafoamsales.com/how-to-use-sea-foam-motor-treatment.html Brian
  13. Yep, i carry my tunes in the same bucket as she does.......... cept, I am much better lookin:cool10: Brian.

  16. Hey no socialist govt,,,,,,finally! finally got a real govt a couple of years ago.....and the real bonus.....it aint all all like Ontario Brian
  17. Nope, I wouldnt live where you do with all that cloud and rain, I would be a basket case in no time! I gotta have my sun.! I wouldnt hafta say it if you guys would wake up and realize there is a better place than the WET coast..... Brian
  18. Yeah, but you guys all forget to mention the nice warm summers with more sunshine than almost anywhere else in Canada. I would far rather be -30f in sun than close to 0 in the rain and cloud. You never remember the days that are 90F -100F in summers or the fact that most years I am riding my bike for 9 months And you can still afford to buy a home here and own it. But i gotta say it is easy to find your dog if he has run away. Brian
  19. looks great Rick! I hope you have many trouble free miles Brian
  20. Sometimes we Saskatchewan people feel we get lost in the middle of the continent with thousands of people flying over us everyday. No one stops in to see what we are all about. Here is a good article fron the San Franciso Examiner. Anyone wants to work, if ya got a trade we can probably get you to work quickly, there is a shortage of trained people. http://www.sfexaminer.com/news/2010/11/saskatchew-where-canadas-hinterland-booming Brian
  21. Actually I use a throttle rocker and Ive found that i can use my thumb to push the throttlerocker to wide open real quick without having to twist wrist at all. Brian
  22. Go look at a snowmobile setup. the clutches have come a long way in the last decade or so. I used to run Kevlar notched belts in my Yamaha sled all the time, as the clutch face is tapered and the belt grips on the sides, not the inside of the belt. Yamaha also used a variable sheaves on the track end of the belt to give contsant variability and torque and engine speed. I also used to put heavier weights inside the clutch to give higher stall speeds, with the heaviest weights my old EX440 would not move until it got to 5000 rpm then it was like dropping the clutch.....hard! you couldnt leave a stop without both skiis at least 2 feet in the air Brian
  23. If you dont do any big towing, Ford makes that sport trac that is basically an Escape with a pickup box on the back. They have a 3l V6 that is fairly durable and trouble free to me. Mine towed my trailer and bike down to Venture West a couple of years ago, it doesnt have huge amounts of power for towing big loads but its ok for small and medium loads. As far as normal power Ill bet my Escape is quicker around town the your Dodge. When I was looking around they seemed pretty inexpensive around here. Brian
  24. We are going to miss his class, wit, and the ability to make fun of himself. in a world that takes himself too seriously Leslie Nielsen will be missed. He was born here in Regina, and while he didnt spend too much time here as a kid, he would still be seen here from time to time wandering around town, visiting with childhood friends. RIP Leslie Nielsen Brian
  25. If ya want to see Saskies partying take some time on Sunday to watch the CFL Grey Cup Game in Edmonton Alberta this year, its been estimated there are 100,000 Rider fans in town. Its the Canadian version of the Super Bowl , in the 98th year. Saskatchewan Roughriders are in it for the 2nd year in a row and the Rider fans are absolutely crazy!! The Rider fans party so hard and just take over a city, and some party so hard they dont make it to the game. The game is at 6pm Eastern on TSN in Canada but streaming is available for the US fans at http://tsn.ca/cfl/feature/?id=33596 BTW if there are any UNC Tarheel fans around that remember Darian Durant from 2004 as quarterback, now he is the Roughriders QB and Passed over 5000 yards this year, leading passer in league. Party ON!!!! Molson Pilsner rocks!!! Brian
