1. Now if I'm reading this thread right, Seafoam cleans stuff... If I put in Motorkote, which adheres to the metal parts & pieces, it would seem to me that I would not be wanting to use Seafoam in my crankcase. Am I off base here??
2. Hoping for some action on this one Bob before I do my next oil/filter change. Does it or doesn't it fit??
3. Might just be a marketing thing, but the Purolator website warns against using the PL Pure One series on motorcycles due to the Bypass PSI requirements. They specifically recommend the ML series.
4. Read the posts, thought it sounded good, went to the web site, got all excited, read the 'How it Works' link, remembered I have 'Ride-On' in my tires, don't think it will work.
5. Got the MotorKote yesterday and put 8oz in the 08RSV and 10oz in the pickumup truck. Will put some in the XYL's car tomorrow and while I'm at it just for the heck of it I think I'll put some in the lawn tractor... Question on filters???:: Back about40 yrs ago or so, seems to me my uncle was selling AMZOIL and said that it required a special filter that I believe was made from cotton fibers?? Was that so, and is it so now?? Or can regular oil filters be used (Fram,Purolator etc)?
6. Tnx 4 the tip. Ordered # 2 special also. I'll be adding it to the Amzoil 10-40 I run in my 08 RSV.
7. Gotta admit, when I first read your post, the tune ' ding dong the witch is dead ' and 'follow the yellow brick road' went thru my mind... Eye level huh?? OH EE OH - YO HO
8. Not had the above mentioned problems, but, I can barely hear the lady in the box. Not sure if it's the car mount speaker or the 550 itself. Was working just fine last week. Volume settings are at 100%.
9. Got my Avons from SWMmoto shipped in same condition, sidewalls pinched together.. Took the local dealer quite a while and a cargo strap and ether before he could get the beads to seat. And boy, was it fun to watch....
10. I too am giving some serious thought to getting the Voyager Kit. It will especially be appreciated when riding in the Mardi Gras and Christmas parades. I have read where the trike conversions almost always call for some kind of steering mod. Is that true with the Voyager also? And if so, is the steering mod part of the kit?
11. Dave, I put the Yamaha OEM rack on my 03 RSMV and that worked fine. I put the GW rack on my 08 RSV and it's working out well also. Did U get a looksee at it Saturday? Pam and I had a good time grippin n grinnin n eatin with ya'll that came down here. Lookin forward to another gettogether before Pam heads off to Afghanistan in Feb..
12. OK! Looks like a few folks are gonna show up Saturday At the Biloxi Hard Rock on Hwy 90. Figure we can 'Grip & Grin' in the parking garage roundabout 1100 and then inside to the Buffet for lunch. After all we have to keep the 'Ride 2 Eat/Eat 2 Ride' tradition alive. Not sure what channel ya'll run on, but I keep mine on channel 10. The XYL and I will C'Ya then. Tom T
13. Does it come with a snorkel for those of us in the more 'dampish' climates.
14. Many of us have the choice of riding gear. However, if U are under the 24/7 jurisdiction of DoD (Deptartment of Defense) regulations, ie; Active Duty/Reserve/Retired (-30yrs), U WILL wear at a minimum; Eye Protection, Full Gloves, Footwear that covers the ankles, Certified Helmet, Long Sleeves, Full Length Trousers, and depending on local Command regulations- a reflectorized vest. In addition, you must be licensed for Motorcycle and have attended an accredited Motorcycle Safety Course. New policy is MSC for the type of Motorcycle U ride-Sport or Touring. Interesting aside is that an MSC instructor at the local Navy base said that Trike riders do not require the mandatory MSC classes as do 2 wheelers. What if U do not fulfill these requirements? We have had several instances locally of Military members having accidents and either not being licensed/trained or properly attired. They are paying their own medical bills out of pocket since they were not in compliance with DoD regulations and therefore the accidents were considered 'Not in the Line of Duty'. If U rely on Military medicine to pay the bill, UR outta luck. If U have other Medical insurance you can probably ride with shorts, t-shirt, flip flops... More food 4 thought; DoD regs prohibit DUI and requires seat belt usage for cagers, so same rules apply.
15. Anyone out there want to get together one day next month for a Meet & Eat?? Proposal: Biloxi MS. 8 Aug. (9th as wx bkup), Meet at Hard Rock Casino for lunch, roundabout 1100.
16. I mounted the Coozie on the gas cap. Cool idea... But be forewarned,,, My first ride with the coozie can holder--- I had a can of pop in it and was cruisin down the road, I put the cruisecontrol on and reached down to get my drink,,, it wasn't coming out of the coozie and the coozie wasn't coming off the gas cap... A little more persuasion was needed before the whole shebang POPPED loose and I nearly flung the whole works up and over my shoulder... Not to mention that I darned near lost control of the bike. Anyhoo,, lesson learned.. A vacum sucks and so does a soda can in a coozie on a gas cap.
17. Had the same thing happen. First use of a HF torque wrench was changing rear tire. Torqued pinch bolt to specs and busted it plum in half.
18. XYL and I rode the RSV over to San Antonio over the 4th for the Shriners Convention and Parade. Ya'll can keep that heat, had to come back to MS. to cool off... UGH!! Nice town ya got there though..
19. Found this in Rothenburg Germany a couple of years ago.
20. What route R U taking? I-20 or I-10? What dates? I might be interested. I believe Wings over the Smokies is Sept 17-19
21. Put one on my 03RSMV and 08RSV. Wouldn't ride without it. Comfortable, adjustable, easy to install and a great company to do business with. Had one of the chrome studs come off the RSMV backrest, they had me ship it back and replaced it no charge..
22. Carl, I put the Venoms on the 08 RSV lastmonth. Only got 8k out of the brickstones. Went to San Antonio for the Shriners Convention over the 4th and the new shoes were put to the test. Quiet, smooth and handled great. I dismounted the wheels myself and took them to the Suzuki Dealer over on Beauvoir. He's good and he's reasonable. I live out here in Lizana off of 53. If you have problems, email me.
23. My partner from here on the Gulfcoast tried to ride his 'California Sidecar' trike into Canada but was stopped and told it could not enter because it did not have a 'parking brake' Go figure......
24. Pulled over by a MHP on US49 down here on the Gulf Coast.. Yeah, ok, I was about 30+- over the limit.. When I was taking my license out, my Deputy Sheriff badge kinda-sorta inadvertently peeked out. As the trooper peered at me from under his 'Smokey' hat and over the rims of his RayBans he just said " Son, You of all should know better " handed me a ticket for the full violation and drove off. Can't really expect 'Professional Courtesy' in all cases.
25. Something to consider; If you have paid the $100+ for lifetime Garmin map updates,,, that subscription is locked to the unit used for original update.. If you get a replacement GPS the updates are no longer available.. That will be an argument between you and Garmin.
