After Market Exhaust
BoomerCPO replied to OutlawRider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Shipmate I blocked the AIS on my Venture when we installed the Baron's pipes. There is a procedure for doing all that in the Tech Section on this Site. Yes there was a minor adjustment of 1/4 turn out on the fuel/air mixture screws for the carbs if my memory serves right. The Baron's 4-2-4's are loud but not ear-splitting loud as straight pipes are. You will be heard both coming and going! I do a lot of group riding and nobody riding behind me has complained about my pipes being too loud. If you check on YouTube there are several sound clips there on Ventures running the Baron's pipes. The Baron's are not too cheap I might add. You should also consider a set of Bubs if you don't want real loud. Those Bubs are a deep rumble on our Ventures. -
LMAO!!!!!!!!! Boomer.....who wishes he had thought of that.

Yep....Blue painter's tape. All the scoots who went on the Race Track here had to use that over their front lights as well. Boomer......Responding to another Boomer and I'm sober as a Judge..... and keeping a eyeball on mah sippin whiskey with this other Boomer tip toeing around heah.....

When I pull into a Gas Station and see those fancy nozzles hanging on the Pumps I simply keep going. Those nozzles are a PITA IMHO. Boomer......who's eye-hand coordination is not the best in the world even on a good day (And don't nobody blame it on mah sipping whiskey either!)

LOL! Darksiders are those who have chosen to put CT's (car tires) on the rear of their Ventures and other scoots. Boomer......who can't get to the Darkside.....yet.

The wife and I have friends who live in the Burbs of Vegas. He is with the Vegas PD and says his employment and abundant overtime is guaranteed thanks to the level of crime there. His wife is a ER Nurse and she can tell some horrific stories about what she has seen at the Hospital. Boomer......who has no desire to be a Goodfellow.

I was all set to slap a CT on my scoot and I mentioned it to the wife last week. With the help of the Parts Dept. at my local Dealer she ordered 2 front and 3 rear's of the Michelin Commanders for the scoot.......... Looks like its gonna be a while before that CT makes it to my bike...... Boomer........who's happy that someone on this planet is concerned enuff about him.....and I hope's to hell she don't find my sipping whiskey and girlie mags in the saddlebags.

I put a set of the NGK Iridiums in my scoot over 18K ago.........Pulled and checked them this week and they look darn near NEW..........and yeah my MPG went up too....... on speeds less than 80mph. Boomer..........who still carries standard NGK's in the tool bag....right next to the sipping whiskey.- 21 replies

Last summer I had the chance to run my Venture on the Stafford Speedway track here in CT. It was a Bikers Fundraising Event so I paid my $20,signed the Liability Waiver, and hit the track! My first 2 laps were fairly medium on speed-60mph.....On the 3-10 laps I really hit the throttle. It was a blast!! The track is a banked oval and the scoot handled beautifully through all the turns. Surprising considering I was running the Dunlop 404's on the old girl! I didn't scrape the floorboards but I sure came close! Boomer......who enjoyed maintaining his "pucker factor" on a really great race track.

That really is a nice lookin warshing machine............... Boomer......running fer cover now.

I know guys who carry extra fuel with them all the time......they add SeaFoam to the gas so it does not go bad. They use the metal bottles as well. Boomer......who's lucky enuff to live in a big area with lots of gas stations and would rather carry ice, bourbon, and Twinkies in the saddlebags.

This is a great stop if you enjoy seeing WWI planes in action! Ride safe! Boomer......who always has wanted to kick the Red Baron's ass but was born too late. -

I put the Baron's Nasty Boys(4-2-4's) on my Venture and re-jetting was NOT required. If you want LOUD these are perfect pipes. Boomer......who thinks there are way too many Dealers out there blowing smoke up into private places. -
I got back on line last night.....Had to wade through 500+ e-mails that had piled up with the pooter in the Shop. Boomer.....who never knew so many folks enjoyed busting his chops with e-mails.

Actually we got 7 years out of our Dell Hard Drive. No data was lost cuz the wife is kinda fanatic about doing Back-ups! Thanks to all who responded on this thread.....Nice to know I have a few friends here. Boomer.....who hasn't loaded TDU weights since he was a sea pup way back in the 70's......and don't need no durn Viagra either.

I is back!!! Boomer.....With a new Hard Drive and a desire to smack Bill Gates silly.

I use a small block of 2x4 under the kickstand.....and be careful NOT to bump the bike from the kickstand side after it is level ! Boomer.....who did the bump and then looked like a monkey humping a football trying to keep the scoot from going over.

The Weather Guessers are saying we have 4 straight days of temps 75-85F with not a drop of rain in sight.....Of course this being Noo England we will prolly wake up to a foot of snow tomorrow morning:p Boomer.....who knows Mudder Nature will pee on yer boots and rain on yer Parade too.

Within the next 2 weeks I will be putting a new Kumho CT on my Venture. That is a given considering the crappy miles I have been getting with a MC tire on the rear. I am also considering buying a REAR MC tire and installing it backwards on the FRONT rim. What say ye gentlemen? Any specific brand should I go with for the front of the scoot? Boomer......ready for the Darkside.....and Thanks for any responses!

I have seen that mentioned here a few times. It is normal for these Ventures to do that when you really romp on it. I have proven that to myself several times just to see for myself. If you put too much oil in you will have a mess on your hands tho.....Three and a half quarts tops! Boomer........who has hit the Rev Limiter more than a few times as well.

There is no requirement that you become a member in order to participate in a Patriot Guard Mission. Just join in and follow the directions of the designated PGR Ride Captain for what is required for the Mission. Boomer.....Dual State PGR Ride Captain.

BoomerCPO replied to slick97spirit's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
If there is a Tractor outfit near you those thingy's can be found there....they use em to cap hydraulic fittings that are not being used on Tractor's. Boomer.....who's seen his share of thingy's...........
