  1. someone said that radials are not recommended by yamaha for ventures......i'm not home to read my manual....so.......true or not true............
  2. n3fol it's not mentioned in tire blogs much....but one thing that's important to me is the tire's load bearing capacity rating..........i wanna know that when i'm riding two up in a desert out west in 95 degree temps at 70+ mph.....that the tire is at the high end on the rating the e3 is rated at that high end......i don't know if the avon is higher the only thing i've read about bias/radial is that you shouldn't mix the two...
  3. shot if you look at post #12.....you will see what i did with my mp3 jack.....
  4. they should work....
  5. i've got about 12,000 on my original 404's , 07 venture......i do a lot of two up riding........they are nearing their replacement time.......i can't say they are better or worse than other tires mentioned as i haven't ridden on those.......i do get the whine in the corners now....e3's will probably be my replacement tire.......
  6. ponch have you considered making a hole to place the mp3 jack in the face plate.....i used one of those plastic screw head covers as a weather shield....
  7. my 07 black one did
  8. i think it depends on what type of plastic it is.......i've used pvc glue on some plastics......but i don't think it works on polyethylene or polypropylene plastics....
  9. it's says "milwaukee" on it.....i don't even remember where i got it from.......not harbor freight, that one didn't last has a low and high setting.........
  10. just thought i'd throw this out here.......i used my heat gun to solder a couple of connections yesterday , and it worked great.......the wires were too big for my 100 watt iron, and because they were close to my fuel pump and seat, didn't wanna use the torch..i used a smaller nozzle that was no wider than the connection, turns out, the gun was faster than the torch anyway........
  11. i use the pure one.....so is this saying that due to the filter medium, most of my oil will be bypassed?....
  12. i turn mine off......can't petcocks fail?......and i figure that by turning mine off and on keeps the petcock from sticking........for longevity

    voltage

what should my voltage be when running at speed,: 50 w driving lights wired directly, sylvania ultra headlight, rear running light/turn signal/ brake light,....carb heaters probably on, 4 month old battery, buckeye stator........ and if not correct....why....and what to test.......
  14. mine does it....since day one
  15. possibly worn out bearings due to lack of grease
  16. i thought that if the label doesn't have the energy conserving emblem on it, then it is ok for wet clutches....
  17. my 03 electra glide did this.......
  18. i know my 4 year old grandaughter loves it......and she liked it when she was 3........ before you jump on me...we just go around the block, nothing but side streets, helmet.....and i am EXTREMELY vigilant and careful....
  19. got it !........i'm OK.... now ,just explain how we can have multiple dimensions in time and space at the same time, yet be invisible due to the string theory and quantum mechanics......and i'll be happy
  20. well, i think i understand what he's saying....i have possibly caused a current to now flow from the grounding point in my fairing to , i guess, the ground for the battery....i need to know what problems that can cause.......and i guess the fix is to run a ground wire from the battery to the little frame
  21. so.....is that what i did by using that small tube frame that supports the amplifier as a ground.........and what problems does this cause
  22. i wasn't too crazy about #7 either
  23. pressures are similar to mine when i'm in 5th gear, except i see 28psi....if i cruise around in 4th, i see psi's of 35+, and if i run the revs up i will see 50s
  24. what do you mean, introducing ground loops
