  1. since we're talking about dropping bikes, i've never seen or read anywhere that talks about what your passenger can do when the bike goes over.....should they hold on and lean opposite the fall, jump off....what......i'd like to instruct my girlfriend as to what she should do.......
  2. we have lost in this country what it took to make it the great country it once was...self determination, strong work ethic, and self responsibility...the result is what you see now.......i didn't read all the posts here, but i know they are all talking about the same thing..greed, laziness, and free handout's......corp.in america have long ago given up doing what is right for the usa, it's only the survival of the co. that's important........we should unplug the stock market and return to providing a product or a service at a fair profit..... if half the money collected in taxes went to half of what it is supposed to be for, we could reduce taxes by half..... we send billions of dollars in foreign aid to countries that spit in our faces we re-built the world twice, but that ethic is gone and certainly not appreciated we should own iraq and iran......and quite playing footsie with 'em the generation that went through the great depression, who knew how to work, save, and developed character, honesty, and integrity...is gone..... i've got two sons who recently married, one has a new baby.......i worry about 'em. i worry about their family..there is no loyalty in companies, to or from the employees, and certainly there is no loyalty to the USA.......
  3. got it.........turns out , the instructions were wrong......there's an orange power lead that the instructions say should be connected to a 12v power source.....the diagram leads you to believe that should be the battery......nope, it needs to be connected to a switched power source.........so, it's connected to the tailight.........everything works so if anyone else installs this module, connect the orange power lead to a 12v switched source also, if someone wants to take the time, by using yamaha connector pins, you can make this a "plug in " installation...... model is the "xp"........i didn't use the blinker module thanks for everyone's input and this stebel horn is LOUD !
  4. just installed the clearview xl on my venture......one thing about the clearview is that you can use rain-x on it.....you can't on any other's
  5. so, the harness connection that i'm using is the correct one.............i should add that i also added the stebel horn using the bracket sold on this sight.......yes i used the relay ..........i mounted the neg. battery cable and the neg horn. wire on top of this bracket and then bolted it down.........is it possible that is my problem...not getting a good ground there......
  6. nickle.....yeh, there is an orange wire that is supposed to feed from the battery........are you saying i don't need that connected..... about the ground.......i tried that.. i disconnected the black wire from the module to the harness and wired it directly to the battery post....no change..... what's crazy, is that the only wire that is hot when you turn the key on is the blue (tailight) wire.....which is not even connected to the module at all.......
  7. i've got an 07 venture that i tried to install the tri-star brake/running light module on. i found a harness under the seat that had 5 wires in it, blue, yellow, brown,dk. green and black......when testing these wires they corresponded to the tailight (blue), ...brake light (yellow),.... LT. turn (brown), ....Rt. turn (Dk. green) .....and ground ( black).....i made all the connections, tried it, everything worked.....turned the bike off...key off........and the rear turn signals were on, not blinking...just on...............is this the right harness......anyone have any experience with this module.........i spent all day on this...even went down to yamaha, got yamaha connectors so i could wire the module and plug it in....(i know how to disconnect the wires from the plug)........so i'm gett'in frustrated.....i have the yamaha service manual, and, i gotta say, it's on of the worse service manuals i ever seen when it comes to the wiring diagrams..........

  9. 07 venture purchased new in oct.....want to add running /brake/turn to the rear....i see on this sight kits from cruisercustomizing....one from tri-star........so ..which is the better of the two as to hook-up, performance.....and, can you get red lenses for the signal lights or do you have to get red bulbs......
  10. i just got a new 07 about a month ago.....have about 250 miles.....how tough is it to drop the rear wheel.....i have the service manual...........
