what is your air pressure
-
thanks george s....absolutely correct
-
thanks for the responses........ george s...no way would i just wrap and heat shrink....although i'm no professional..i always try to do things the proper way..and as professional as i can, thats why i was trying to keep , or find a way to still use the original pins and/or connector......or a heavier duty pins/connector how bout this....using die-electric grease in the original plug....to help with the heat build up.....(i said "load" in a previous post, but i mean heat) my reasons in trying to keep a stock look is for warranty issues, if they ever came up........lets say i have an engine prob. and upon inspection ,they discover an aftermarket stator.......yamaha could say...although you and i no there is no connection....they will not honor the warranty....it's possible my bike is an 07

in a few days i plan to start installing the buckeye stator...in the install info in this site, and from buckeye, it says that the 3 wire connector cannot handle the heat...so you must solder the wires together..my question is, is it the connector material itself that can't handle the load. or the actual wiring ( or pins ) that can't i would like to remove the wires from the connector ( not cut ), discard the connector and replug the wires to each other....shrink wrap each individual wire and then shrink wrap all three as a bundle together........................or.....go down to radio shack, purchase their connector, redo the wires with their pins and use that connector.....their connector and pins are bigger than the pins used in yamaha connectors

i've done them both, they are great awesome rides.....check out the signs on the chief joseph that give the dates of the rock strata.......weather is unpredictable and you should be ok at the summits on both roads... but it will still be chilly at the tops...enjoy it........

i had an 03 electra glide standard with passenger and rider backrests for 4 yrs...i now have an 07 venture....my girlfriend really likes the seating on the venture more than the harley...so do i ...i even had the harley seat re-done and the yamaha is a lot better........yamaha has more power and standard equip. and is thousands less than a harley.....it is top heavy...mine does whine......there are more small differences but not enough to send me back to harley.........biggest thing is the 5 yr. unlimited mileage warranty.....my harley motor went at 35,000...that's why i'm on a yamaha.....( i'm not harly bashing, i liked mine )....the yamaha offers more overall.....

Any problems with luggage racks?
jlh3rd replied to Murphster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
eck you're not alone....i also have the whitney rack and it is doing the same thing......local chromer says $110 to re-do it..........i used fender type washers ( stainless steel ) to mount it along with rubber washers ........so far ,no cracks...... -
they can float for a while...just depends....how much damage, how deep, weight, fuel......maybe part of it was touching bottom...............praying there's no casualties............

Cut me off, lady...come on, I dare ya! Cut me off!!
jlh3rd replied to Semi-retired's topic in General Tech Talk
i've had to use mine a couple of times.............it startles the heck out of 'em.......they immediately jerk their car back into their lane -
i guess that putting in an aftermarket stator will void warranties..........unless the dealer doesn't find it......

thanks for all the help
-
thanks i will check connector...........yes, i'm also running tail/brake/signal lights.....radio, cruise, etc i have the service manual so i'll glance at it.....but, i was showing 13.7 at an rpm well above idle ( don't have tach)....but that seems to be what it should be.....that's why i don't suspect anything wrong : it's just a weak system ...like most everyone says, and i'm just trying to save time now ,can anyone give me the rpm /voltage specs on the buckeye stator?...would like to compare that to stock........
-
oh, i'm sorry.......didn't realize that using a digital volt/ohm meter was archaic..........and that using pasts posts on this forum over the years that specifically describe a known weak system on this bike and using those posts by intelligent people to come to a realization that my bike has the same problem.......was being archaic........
-
uh huh is that right goose?? listen, you don't wanna help....keep your comments to yourself........ok.......

goose i appreciate all input.......the battery was brought up to a full charge the day before using a battery tender ( the original battery tender).....i rode out to the club house for our polar bear ride....30 mins........then rode another 20 mins to a diner.............i could feel the heat in the clothes........sat for an hour...........then rode about an hour back home , mostly on four lane, 70 mph.....the gloves had stopped feeling warm and so were the pants........bike sat 4 hrs, i went to go start it up ,.and no start........pushed started it......got my tester...peaked about 13.7v with no running lights or heated equipment......not at idle.....turned on the running lights, voltage went to about 13.2v........bike has about 8,000 miles on it.........purchased new......so i know the bike it doesn't matter if the battery is weak........if the charging system can't handle the load.....as many posts on this site state......then it can't handle the load.....thats the bottom line.......but, you know what , i will check the connector.... as a matter of fact....in older cars. , one way to test the alternator was to pull the negative cable off the battery and see if the car would still run........don't do this on a computer car........the battery doesn't really matter if the charging system is working......
-
thanks eck........i read those posts.... i'm not trouble shooting the system as it is well known that the 2nd gen has a weak charging system........i just needed input from anyone using the buckeye stator and installaton advice........i've downloaded the installation.........
-
ok....installed the venture running lights (07).....hooked up my heated gloves, vest, pants.....rode for about an hour....discharged battery......( yes, system is charging correctly)... i know of only one co. that has an upgrade stator...has anyone done this upgrade and have you had any problems...is this the only co. do i have to worry about hurting the stock rectfier, wires etc. ? how easy an install is it..... thanks

yeah....what goes around, comes around ...but in the meantime thousands of peoples' lives get ruined by these crooks.........

like one guy already said, this video was debunked........but to answer: i haven't followed stunt aircraft in years, but i don't think that even the newer aircraft develope enough thrust to hold the aircraft in flight by power alone.....and if it did, it would have to be standing on it's tail the entire time, not in a knife edge attitude.. and if it's doing that , there would have to be some way to prevent the aircraft from spinning in opposition to the rotation of the prop....in other words, you gotta have both wings, and even then ,once it stops moving forward,(up) the plane will spin anyway.....
