I think Ethanol is a crock. I even have an Ethanol plant down the road from me. Kinda interesting how much energy it takes to make the stuff. http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/earth/4237539.html

Decided not to buy 2007 venture
Mariner Fan replied to Bobcatpat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Brad, it gets even better. I've used the same Credit Union for over 25 years. It used to be called Spokane Railway Credit Union but now it's called Numerica. When I decide to buy something like a car or a bike I give them a call and tell them what I want. They will tell me what the price should be based on the invoice reports. Now I can go into a car deal and negotiate on the price without the added confusion of financing. Funny that I still use a Credit Union from Spokane Washington but it's still very easy and they treat me great. -
No big deal. I still have 4 years on my warranty and will be riding this bike for quite awhile. Once the warranty gets close to being finished I may look around for a new bike (or I might not). If Yamaha has updated the Venture the way I would like it to be I'll probably upgrade. I want an upgraded Second Gen not a First Gen like some have talked about.

Wayne, heck your service boots are probably better than most "motorcycle" boots. Galls has great boots that will work perfectly for motorcycling.

That's easy, get financing from another source. There are plenty of places that will lend you money. I borrowed the money for my bike from my local credit union. Got good rates too. Hmm, well since a few banks have failed that might not be so true anymore. -

Well take your time and figure out what bike is perfect for you. A lot of guys have bought bikes and have been disappointed in them including those that bought Ventures. Lucky for me, I really like my Venture! Good luck in your search. -

So are you leaning towards getting a Harley now? -
Our car recommends oil changes every 6,000 miles. I believe the 3,000 mile change routine was made up by the oil change people to get more business.

Trying to tie down my RSV on a U-Haul trailer
Mariner Fan replied to workerbee13's topic in Trailer Talk
Me too. Just used a short soft strap around the triple clamp then attached the tie down strap to that. It cleared all the body work and kept the bike very stable.- 25 replies

Heart stopping moments...

Curious how tires wear out quicker for some than others. My bike has 9,000 miles on it and the tires still look good. Can't be the wonderful roads here in Indiana! -
That's the way I feel. I pretty much like all touring bikes (except the Victory) and have no problem riding with any of them (except the Victory....).

Wow, close call! Glad you were able to keep it upright. Bet you never forget that one! -

The funny thing about seats are that everyone had different needs. Hard seat aren't necessarily bad. In fact some people prefer them. No one can recommend a seat that will work for everyone. It's pretty much the shape that works for your backside.

I actually like the looks of the new Goldwing. As far as comfort though the Venture wins hands down and that is why I have one.

I'm paid up for two years so I guess I won't have to think about that. Not sure if I really want any of the Sirius channels anyway.
