    Well, I think Yamaha did me a favor. If they had come out with a new model I might have been tempted to trade up. Now I can just ride my bike another year knowing that the new one's aren't an improvement on mine.

    Dude, we went right through LaGrange. I didn't pre-plan the ride so I didn't have your number ready. I was kicking myself cause I wanted to call you. We were stuck there due to a bicycle triathalon.

    Why would a broken tab allow a windshield to come loose? I'm curious too. My Clearview is the XXL and has the vent. I also have one broken tab that will have to be fixed.

    John, On my Garmin, the + and power does not work when the unit is powered by the bike. As soon as I turned off the bike I was able to reset it. Seems to only work when it's powered by it's battery.

    The Garmin only plays in MP3 format. So, if you can convert the Ipod tunes to MP3 and download them on to your SD card it will work fine. As for the headset......the Gamin has an output plug but it's only the standard 1/8 inch size. The guy who had his set up with bluetooth was riding a Suzuki V-Strom so he didn't have speakers either. I ride the Venture so it's different. I don't know the exact way he had it setup.

    I knew a guy who had a bluetooth setup that worked through a headset. He had one of those Nolan helmets that had the headset installed but I don't think that matters. You know the Garmin has a SD card slot for listening to music, right?

    From time to time I've read where some of the guys who bought the clearview wished they had gotten a taller shield. You might throw that out there if someone wants to do a trade. Just a thought.

    It's really not that fun to watch. First off, it's hot as hell on the salt. Second, the flats are so huge that all you see is a dot of a car moving in a straight line. It's much more fun just looking at the cars.

    I've been thinking about this problem for awhile now. I'm going to check into some longer bolts with lock nuts on the back and some small fender washers like you have suggested.

    Goose, the clearview has the same slot arrangement as the stock. There is only one hole and the rest are slots. My bike has a broken tab on the windshield mount. I've noticed that this shield will shake alot more than the stock due to the larger surface. All the more reason to check the bolts every now and then.

    James, that really sucks that you lost your expensive windshield but I'm glad that you were able to avoid wrecking your bike. I'm almost positive that Stardbog had the same thing happen to him. In fact I've thought about Dan's story and worried if the same thing could happen to me.

    Happened to me. This was back in the 80's. Bee flew up my shorts and stung me on the inside of my leg.......Thank God!!!!

    Well first of all, the RSV's are all the same. So that JC Whitney rack should work. I like the Yamaha rack. I've also seen a different one that is from a goldwing (I think).
