Thanks Joe. I ended up following a black Venture from Shelbyville to Anderson. The guy never looked back so I'm not sure if he saw me or not. Looks like you had a good time at the distillery.

The James Dean Festival will be on the weekend of September 26th - 28th. It's in the town of Fairmount just down the road from me. Lots of hot rods, food, and music. http://www.arts-shack.com/Dean2007.html So, if any of you folks want to join me, let me know. Guaranteed good time!

I've ridden with many wings. They are certainly different. Wings and Ventures ride really well together as a group.
-
I've been there a couple of times. Neat place to visit for sure. Hope to meet up with you and Ron sometime soon.

$150.00. I set the cruise to 71 but didn't know I was in a 55 mph zone. Cop picked me out of all the others doing the same speed.

Where is your VentureRiders Patch!

I met up with LeadWolf, 93 Venture, and FreezyRider's group at Madison, Indiana. The gang gathers. http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/005--large-msg-122029125744.jpg I parked next to another Venture. This bike didn't belong to FreezyRiders group. We never saw the owner. http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/001--large-msg-122029120632.jpg Check out the exhaust pipes on this bike! Almost looks like a set of glasspacks.... http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/002--large-msg-122029122339.jpg http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/003--large-msg-12202912413.jpg Joe took us South into Kentucky with some great twisties and nice scenery. I've never seen tobacco plants before! Had to ask what they were! We also ran into an IronMan Triathlon. We had to ride slow to allow the bicyclists to proceed. I was stuck riding next to a young female hottie riding her bike in a blue swimsuit. Geez, that was tough! Deb, don't forget to send me the pictures! Stopped to have lunch at the Old Talbott Tavern in Bardstown. http://www.talbotts.com/ http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/017--large-msg-122029135272.jpg Gratuitous shot of my bike.. http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/015--large-msg-122029133492.jpg http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/006--large-msg-12202912722.jpg The interior was rough cut beams and stone walls. Very nice! http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/013--large-msg-122029130427.jpg Hey Kevin! http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/012--large-msg-122029131985.jpg Group shot taken by our waitress "bug". She even left a present in Joe's salad! http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/021--large-msg-122029136925.jpg I had to peal off after lunch. One of my employees was hurt in a fall so I had to go check on him. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pictures. The bunch were heading to the Makers Mark distillery when I left! Oh yea, watch out for an unmarked black Mustang in Louisville Kentucky. Don't ask me how I know.

Steve, sorry I missed you. I'll be getting up at the crack of dawn to meet up with the gang down South. Should be a great time!

Hey Bronson, sorry to hear about your Mother-in-Law.

My new ClearView Windshild
Mariner Fan replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Mine is the XXL. I could see over the stock windshield and can see fine over this one too. Don't think they make one that is 17". The medium is 19.5". Now they lean back further than the stock ones. My XXL doesn't seem to be any taller than the stock one. -

You won't see it unless you remove the fairing. It's really put together poorly with a little plastic tab that will break right away. I found this out the first time I split the fairing so I'm assuming that it was broken from the factory. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20293 Not a big deal. I just noticed it because it was making a squeaking noise where the little rubber cushion is attached to the corner of the windshield. http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/Pegs_006--large-msg-121994401826.jpg BTW, it took me nine weeks to get it. I was getting ticked about the long wait but all is good now. -

Seaking, I just got mine as well. Your right on with your observations though I didn't notice the updraft that you mentioned. I really like the way it looks on the bike as well. Too bad Yamaha didn't just put these on to begin with. One small little note. The windshield brace is broken on the right side. Seems like everyone's are and mine was like that since new. I noticed that with the windshield being wider that the corners will move a bit. Guess I'll have to figure out a way to fix it. -
Got to ride the bike with the new Clearview on it. Wow, what a difference! No more wind buffeting my big head. Well worth the cost.
-
Go to the Clearview site. Click on the button that says "View Available Inventory". http://clearviewshields.com/shop/product.php?id=65

Kevin, Send me some details on your ride. I'll have to talk to Ruthie about it since she wants me to get a new suit for my daughters wedding. Seems mine have shrunk! I should be able to get down there for one day.
-
Well I'll be darned. Had the Clearview on the porch when I got home from work! Sure looks good on the bike!
-
I used to have a 3 acre yard. Don't miss having to take care of it!
-
I still use my left hand to operate the Zumo. It's not that difficult.
-
Heck, I'd like one of those!
-
The wait for a Clearview is long! I ordered mine on June 27th and still haven't seen it. I've seen some of the blem windshields and they were nice. I think the descriptions sound alot worse than they are. Ask some of the guys here how they like the blem windshields if you want to get one this season.

Funny Song. Kinda had a "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" feel to it. Yea, us Yankees say barbecue for grilling outside. We had a mis-communication with one of the neighbors once when I told them we would have a back yard barbecue. I was just talking about throwing some steaks on the grill.
-
Haha, yea, that would be rich. Should work nice though! Course you never know if some trucker would drive right over your tent!
-
Sounds like the perfect solution for long trips. Heck I like truck stop food anyway.
-
They both are about 1". Look like the passenger is a little thicker but it should still work.

Here is what I use. http://www.ngatraders.com/motorcycle_beverage_holder.html http://ngatraders.com/images/coolrider.jpg http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users16/marinerfan/default/Pegs_004--large-msg-121968103303.jpg
