My suggestion is to buy the kit. I don't have them on my bike yet, but I do and have had them on several trucks. There may be cleaners and oil out there that you can use, but I would not recommend it. On truck air filters you get 2 cleanings out of a kit. You should get the same on a set of filters. I believe the oil has to be thin enough to trap dust, but still let the air through at high levels. It also has to last for that 50,000 miles between cleaning. If you wait that long. One kit should last you for several years. K+N 's are the greatest...

Hey George, Thats where I bought it, so I figured I would make them fix it. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, but it irks the heck out of me when I can't get the service I should. Therefore, I am going to make them make the bike right...You shoulda seen em when I brought in the TSB...

You can buy a plastic welding kit from Harbor Freight. You do need an air compressor. Cost is about $40.00. I have one, but I have not used it yet, so I don't know how good it actually is. They hadem on sale, so I decided to but it in case I needed it...

I think the main problem is that there are no trained mechanics on the Venture. I have had the same problems at KC Powersports in Huntsville. I spoke to (in person) Al Harper (regional Yamaha service mngr). Hopefilly he will set them straight. My new clutch basket is in, and he even told them to order 2 gaskets in case I wanted the old one reinstalled. I had to print out the TSB for the rear end and bring it to them. It seems they never received it. I'm taking the bike in monday...We will see how they do...

I brought my 07 in for service. They said the recall affected my bike, I never received any notice from Yamaha about this. I did not have any leaking either. The problem is the headbolts need to be retourqued. I suggest you go to your dealer and see if your vin is listed.

How big are your wifes feet??? My wife wears high heels and I have never felt her boots. Maybe you are putting your legs down in a funny way so that they are toward the rear of the bike!!!
