  1. But what will I do with all of my cassettes? This is a deal breaker!:stirthepot:
  2. Thanks Bill! We need to get together!
  3. Thanks for the thought 1Rooster!!! It would have been nice. I will look forward to sometime in the future. I had a fantastic day!:hurts: I rode the dragon south, stopped at deal's gap, rode on to Murphy N.C., hit the flea market, rode on to georgia, stopped back at the flea market(saw a RSV there and had to check it out), rode back to Deal's gap for late lunch, rode the Dragon north, and back to the hotel by TYS. Saw some beautiful countryside, bought a tee shirt and kick stand plate and of course a dragon sticker for the bike, met some new people, gave away a VR card to the guy with the RSV---WOW what a day!! The RSV at the flea market belongs to a guy that had been to the site before, but didn't join up. I think he will. We had a nice talk about Ventures and whatnot. Seems like a nice guy, I hope to see him here soon. He said he will probably use 1Bushman he said. Thanks to all of you that were here with me in spirit, and to those who responded. Oh Yah, The RSV ran flawlessly (no surprise-these are fine machines!) I HIGHLY reccomend rideing the Dragon to those of you that have not!!
  4. I'm off to see the dragon, I hope he doesn't eat me for lunch. If anyone sees this late or has last minute free time, call me on my cell phone. the # is in my profile. I have all day. I have to be in Gatlinburg on monday and had an extra day today. Have a great day everyone!!!!
  5. I took off from Chicago this morning at 10:30am and drove straight through to Knoxville, Tn. What a beautiful day, and beautiful ride!!! :cool10: Boy, did I have a nice day!! Tomorrow morning I will be rideing the dragon for my first time. I have heard so much about it! I can't wait!!! I think I will ride on down to Vogel, too, just to see that area as well. If any of you are going to be around the area, I would enjoy shareing a cup, or lunch, or a ride just to meet some more of the "Family" If not, well, I am going to have another awesome day anyway.
  6. That's a wonderful story!! YES, we do have some GREAT people on here. It makes me feel good just hearing about it. Welcome to the site, and enjoy the ride!!!!
  7. MORE good info!!!! Thanks!
  8. Thanks Guys!!!!:thumbsup2: I appreciate ALL of your ideas. That's what is so great here-- I get real life oppinions from people that have tried it. Saves me the hard learning experiences. Now I will take her appart and see how it looks. I will use one of the suggestions and consider the rest. I just don't know which one yet?
  9. Do you put anything on the new gasket when you put the clutch housing cover back on? I am going to put in the new spring kit today, and will need to know. Thanks
  10. Thanks for the good posts guys!!!! V7Goose-- thanks for the info, I wasn't aware of that. I have a mast I can mount on the trunk rack, but wasn't motvated to mount it. Now I am motivated.
  11. Don't forget to print the Venturerider Assistance/member list to take along. Hope you don't need assistance, but ya never know when you will need to call one of us. Have a great trip and keep us posted of your progress. Members have been known to join up with travelers for portions of the trip! Maybe a quick last minute meet n eat or Dairy Queen.
  12. Someone at Michigan maintenance day asked me where I got my 6"x9" U.S. antenna flag. I ordered it online from http://www.thepropad.com/p-41-antenna-flag-mount-kits-w-6x9-flag.aspx My wife found them on a Google search. They were prompt to ship, and good to deal with. The flags are heavy duty and look like they will resist fraying pretty well. I am happy with the product.
  13. Congrats!!! That is fantastic, I also feel the RSV is even more stable than usual at highway speeds 2up. It is a great touring bike. Enjoy the ride, and be safe!
  14. Don't forget that you or a passenger in the seat will change the reflectivity and SWR. also the trunk must be closed. You have to tune the antenna in the configuration that you ride in. Thus it will be at least a 2 man job. (That is what I was told, and I beleive EVERYTHING i'm told ?) Good luck, It is a difficult task. IMHO. I just listen mostly, and only talk on CB when I have to. For group rides we usually are not very far apart, so even marginal transmissions can be heard.
  15. Thanks for sharing the photos!!!! Looks like I missed another GOOD ONE. Maybe next time--- glad you all had fun!
  16. Have you checked Flatoutmotorcycles.com? I have been very pleased with them and their prices in the past. I have ordered 3 times, and am working on another order now. http://www.flatoutmotorcycles.com/
  17. Thanks for the informative post!! I am seriously considering the speedo-healer. enjoy sturgis--I wish I could go.
  18. Nice Job!!! That's what I like--good old resourcefullness. Great quality for cheap! enjoy it, you did good!
  19. Thanks Goose!!! Ifinally got around to fixing mine today. I installed new brackets on both sides. Then I installed my new clearview XL. The new windshield is great and it doesn't move around like before. I was surprised how small the new bracket actually is. Thanks for the great post, and excellent pictures!
  20. Nice pictures!!! Thanks SOO much for the names. Maybe we should all get nametags with our screen names for get togethers? I Know--- kinda goofy--- but it helps with the "Old Guy" memory!!
  21. I bought the Joe Rocket Phoenix 4.0 jacket from New Enough this spring. I love it! The mesh does keep me cooler than bare arms in the direct sunshine. You don't want to stop for very long without taking it off, though. I have 1500 miles on the jacket now. When it is 90 degrees out in the sun, the jacket does'nt make it cooler, but when moving it helps. Kinda like sitting under a shade tree in the heat-- it's still hot, but the sun isn't burning you. The armor comes out, but it is not easy to get out. not something you want to do often. I removed the back padding/protector because it did not fit in the bags well. I also removed the shoulder pads. I left the elbow pads in for at least some protection. It has a zip in waterproof lining. This spring the jacket with liner, with a short sleeve shirt under it, was comfortable to about 48 degrees at highway speeds. 50 and below is now where I switch to leather. opinion-- great jacket New Enough.com great service, excellent price.
  22. WOW!!!!! It's a rocket. ....But where would I put all of my stuff?? Looks like the bags and trunk blew off. Oh Yeah--- don't get your leg in the exhaust.
  23. Muffinman did mine also. 3 were ok, 1 was a tiny bit out. I didn't notice any mileage change, but I was fighting strong headwinds all the way home. I will be watching the mileage numbers now, to see if it changed. Thanks to Muffinman for figureing it out, and fixing it! Thanks to V7Goose for the post with excellent pictures!!!!!
  24. If the scratches didn't go all the way through the paint- you might try clear coat scratch remover from the autoparts store. They have a bunch of different brands of it. Maybe scratch remover for plastic windshields might work, also?
  25. Congrats Guys!!! It was good to meet both Eck and V7Goose at MX day. I also was very impressed with my conversations with Kent. You are high on my short list of "Very Good Guys". However as I meet more people from this sight that list is growing rapidly! Fun loving people of good character are people I like to know, and respect! Freebird, Squidley, Eck, and V7Goose all fit that description. I can't wait to meet Black Owl and Buddie Rich! Thanks to all of you for your efforts.
