  1. Looks good A flag holder is on my winter to do list. I was going to do a single holder but then another member suggested that I make it a triple. So far I only have these CAD drawings. I was going to retain the mast with a pin or bolt. On the triple the outer two sockets are angled a little back so that the outer flags will be lower and behind the center flag. Now I just need time to do it.
  2. If I ever get up the nerve, ambition, time, and finances to align at the same time I would love to do a repaint of my bike. I was not planning on worrying about the strips, I just figured they would come off with the paint as soon as I got out the DA sander.
  3. First crack of an eyebrow was reading number 4 Faster charge rate means more amps. Then the other eyebrow went up at number 8 Again they are implying that more amps are needed from the electrical system and it is not some special circumstance needed to make it draw more amps. Then I got to number 9 This is what I was thinking as I was reading this. In order to charge at a higher rate simply means more amps out of the the stator and the Regulator/rectifier on a bike that already has a marginal system. They are talking about possibly damaging car alternators that have a LOT more power available than out bikes. I am going onto the 5th year on my Yuasa, that has never seen a maintainer while it sat in the bike out in a cold steel storage shed thru Wisconsin winters, and was planning to go to an AGM when this one dies. After reading this, I am not so sure now. I wonder how many AGM users have replaced and/or upgraded there stator and/or RR to the higher output ones??? Was it because of the battery and no one ever made the connection?
  4. I was afraid of that.
  5. I think he might have, maybe, possibly, been trying to say V3ry w311 d0n3 J3ff I guess spell check is not much help here.
  6. Nice job. I have been using a different type of plan. The plan is to take smaller bites so that you burn more calories shoveling the food into the pie hole. I FOUND a good chunk of the 77 lbs you lost, would you like it back........
  7. There is a slew of "Car door protectors" on that site. Which one is him?
  8. Well you really don't have to worry about the men with no arms.........
  9. I'm thinking ESPN.......
  10. At least you were wearing the pjs..........
  11. Does it turn over? Does it have spark? give it a small squirt of gas or starting fluid into the intake to see if it will even pop. On my truck it takes 60psi of fuel pressure to start but will run on 50psi. I have used starting fluid in a pinch to get it over the starting hump when the fuel pump was going and would only give me 55psi. This is just for a one time shot to get it home or to the shop, because the pump is within minutes of going out completely.
  12. After watching what my 2 sisters went thru building houses, there is no way I could do it and have the contractor stay out of the hospital/morgue and me stay out of prison..... I hope all goes smooth for you. Do you own the hill where the pics are taken from? I would put the house up there if feasible. I like high places and farther from the road. But thats just me.
  13. Working 3 jobs.... Barely time left to breath or even enjoy a good fart. I have LOTS to to on the bike and trailer before summer gets here tomorrow. Maybe I'll have stuff left to do AT both Dons MD and WI MD, other than BS, cause trouble, eat and drink. That reminds me, time to order more parts for the pile of things to do........
  14. And it a 1st gen.......... I want one. ONLY $185K Think they would paint one red? That should be able to pull a trailer with 400+ lb/ft of torque? It is fast in a straight line, I wonder how it handles the twisties.
  15. As long as buyers are willing to the money, WHY should a seller even consider taking less?
  16. Brain Study.... Wow! It took me a few seconds, but then I got the hang of it...I've seen this with the letters out of order, but this is the first time I've seen it with numbers. F1gur471v3ly 5p34k1ng? Good example of a Brain Study: If you can read this you have a strong mind: 7H15 M3554G3 53RV35 7O PR0V3 H0W 0UR M1ND5 C4N D0 4M4Z1NG 7H1NG5! 1MPR3551V3 7H1NG5! 1N 7H3 B3G1NN1NG 17 WA5 H4RD BU7 N0W, 0N 7H15 LIN3 Y0UR M1ND 1S R34D1NG 17 4U70M471C4LLY W17H 0U7 3V3N 7H1NK1NG 4B0U7 17, B3 PROUD! 0NLY C3R741N P30PL3 C4N R3AD 7H15. 17. This would work the same with side markers. Just take the above directions and everywhere you see "brake" substitute "side marker" Side markers are usually just a few LEDs, You could easily hook both side markers to one controller. And for my next trick. I have designed a couple of mixers to allow a center brake light, AND have it work correctly, on a 4 wire trailer. I need this for mine before the trip to MD. I have a solid state version for those with a little more electrical ability and a relay version for those that are a little more electrically challenged. So far I just have the circuits drawn, I still have to build them to verify all of my math.
  18. You can always plan to put in the step and stilll build block or stick over it ifs that's the route you end up
  19. Saw $3.999 here in SE WI on my way into work this morning.
  20. See there ya go again, trying to catch up to a 1st gen......... Oppie, couldn't stop my fingers........
  21. The insurance carried is liability and some have theft insurance. Getting crash insurance on a RC aircraft would be like getting full coverage on a NASCAR. It ain't gonna happen. When you fly RC you have to expect that any flight could be the aircraft's last. Crash yes, to burn is very rare, but does happen. There are YouTube vids of RC going up in smoke. Those are painful to watch, there is usually literally nothing left salvageable. That is an interesting Vid.
  22. As long as you have not been slipping it a lot, odds are that the clutch is fine and just the spring is weak and needs to be replaced. This is a common thing on these bikes. The only way to know for sure is to take it apart and measure the thickness of the clutch pates, 3mm (.118 inch) is new and 2.8mm (.110 inch) is worn out. The steel plates should be good unless they are discolored from heat. If the clutch is still good then all you need is the upgraded spring and a gasket and an hour of your time. The second time you do one it will only take a half hour.
  23. I still find the whole contractor thing out by you baffling. Around here if word gets out you need a job done, the contractors will be lined up at the front door and down the street, maybe even fighting with each other for a better place in line, waiting for their chance to give a quote.
  24. OK, here are the instructions to with the diagram that I posted above. From Radio Shack you will need; 1 pack of diodes P/N 276-1661 (4 pack) $2.69 1 pack of 330 ohm resistors P/N 271-1113 (5 pack) $1.19 You will also need some wire #16 or 18 AWG (Preferably at least 2 colors) and some heat shrink tubing. This is enough parts to make 2 assemblies. Take 2 of the diodes and notice that one end is marked with a colored band. Twist the leads of both colored ends together and solder. Add a piece of wire to this twisted end and solder. Twist one lead of a resistor to the free end of one of the diodes and solder. Attach a wire to the other lead of the resistor and solder. Attach a different color of wire to the free end of the remaining diode and solder. Slide a piece of heat shrink over the resistor and diode long enough to cover the solder joints. Slide a piece of heat shrink over the other diode and its solder joints. Shrink both of these down. Slide another piece of heat shrink over the remaining wire connection and overlap the now covered diodes and resistor and shrink down. You now have the same thing that you can buy already done. The end with the single wire goes to the positive lead of the LED brake light. The lead with the resistor goes to the running lights circuit. The lead with just a diode (the one you put a different color wire on) goes to the brake light circuit. The negative side of the LED brake light goes to ground just like normal. SEE, Be careful what you ask for.........
