Had to pick a handle for when I first stated using the website fourms and at that time I was heavy into archery. While memebers of my archery club had used carbon arrows I was the first to use both a carbon bow and carbon arrows together. Rather then beating my brain coming up with something for the bike fourms I just stuck with the Carbon_One handle. I like to tell folks I'm the orginal not a carbon copy. LOL:cool10: Larry
  2. To answer some questions I'll start about the bikes. As far as I know no one offers a reverse for the Yamaha Venture thou I have seen a couple pics of some home brewed versions. I'm not sure just how well they worked either as I've never seen any write-ups on them. Both Harley and Honda do have reverse available for their touring bikes. I think BMW also offers a reverse for one of their bikes as well. Have to confirm that thou. Hannigan builds conversions for all four companies. Tri-Wing is the only other one offering a kit for the Ventures. For the other three there are numerous choices to choose from for a trike conversion. I would chose which bike you like first then pick one of the conversion companies to do the job. Also once you have something in mind look around at the used market as there's always plenty for sale there as well. And last there are the car type trikes such a the Stallion, Boss Hoss, and VW trikes out there. Those all can be had with auto trans if desired and all have reverse. You are wise to consider making this move now before you have a serious accident. Once on three wheels you'll feel much more secure in knowing you won't be falling down. Ya there's a few quirks to learn about triking but that's true with anything you do. In no time at all you'll be out enjoying being in the wind. Larry
  3. Buddy sorry to hear of your Fathers passing. Payers for you & family. Larry
  4. When I had my bike on two wheels ZI just mounted the side markers to the bag rails. I also converted the reflector to a led light set up. JCW sells the led lights as a replacement for the Gold Wings. It's a perfect fit. I ran the wires thru the crash bar and made the connection under the seat. Less than 1" of wire is exopsed on the backside and hard to see unless one looks for it. Larry
  5. Good for you to be an outpatient. Follow docs orders and you'll be back to your regular ole self in no time. Larry

  10. Nice report. Seeing as how Annie & Quickstep will be on vacation next year here in the States I wonder how much they'll relate to this 2 week version? Seriously thou I really hope they enjoy their trip here and get to do & see what they want without too much of a hetic scheduale. Good Luck Larry
  11. My OEM shock went south at 20 k, leaking oil, etc. Thou there was still some factory warranty left I decided to go with a Works shock. Ya it was a bite in the a** paying for it but since installing the Works I've had no problems since. Currently I have between 22-24k on the Works shock. Larry
  12. Hope your Father is doing better now. Prayers for him and family. Larry
  13. Bought the bike Memorial Day weekend and was signed on here within a couple days in 05. This is the best bike related site I've even been on thanks to Don's fore site and hard work of him and his moderators of what this club should be all about. My first actual meeting of any members was shortly after meeting Squidly and about a dozen characters for a meet & eat in Port Huron. Close to half of them canucks too. Then off on a 200 + mile jaunt to round out the day. All told I rolled out about 300 mikles that day and knew I'd found a home of like minded folks. Larry
  14. Thanks for covering my back guys. Yep Ken still kicking here and not going anywhere soon I hope. Larry
  15. I bought a pair of them yesterday while attending the G-daughters hockey tourney. Was going to post this up tonight but Gary beat me to it. For $10 you can't go wrong. That's a $30 savings since they normally cost $40. Larry
  16. ya on what they said. be a bit more carefull with your titles. Take care ya ole fart, larry
  17. On my Tri-Wing the speedo sensor is mounted on top of the axle just over the flange on front. The flange has a set of notches machined in it. I don't know off hand how many or what size they are (will check tomorrow). The flange is also tapered to match the angle of the sensor so that the senors end is even with the flange and having a consistant gap there. I'm not even sure without checking what the gap is either but I'd think it's at what yamaha calls for with the stock two wheeled set up. Deffineately you've got a screwed up system there and I'm supprised it even gives a reading on the speedometer. Oh ya any kind of erratic response from the sender will cancel out a cruise control setting. I'll dig up some more info and pics tomorrow if you want them. Larry
  18. Having had a FFl for over 16 years I totally agree with Rental guy on all he says. I no longer have the license as it just got to cumbersome in dealing with the Feds and their mountains of paperwork. I had been dropped-in inspected twice with no problems on my part. I finally realized that having that license was restricting me more than common folk. And I can't tell you the relief I felt when I gave em my books. Besides by this time in life I was getting away from the shooting sports thou still having a strong connection to my gun club. Criminals will always have access to guns and won't worry the least about what laws they break in aquiring them and most certainly won't be filling out those forms like we all do. Larry
  19. Thanks for doing this Don. I do think it'll help new folks find our stuff much easier. I edited the one post you moved but didn't see the move button you refered to? Larry
  20. The same for all of you Canuk's too. Larry
  21. sent for him & family
  22. We've been back and forth to Canada many a times and thus far all have gone smoothly. This past weekend the customs guy asks where we're going, we tell him, and off we go. Basicly the same question crossing back into the US the same day. Only once as a teenager my brother and I was asked to go into the customs office on the Canadian side. That paticular time we were doing a mc trip loop around Lake Huron. Camping along the way and all. They got all the info asked to their satisfaction and off we went having a great ole time. Of course this happend back in the late 60's. I'm very much aware that todays world is nothing like it was 40-50 years ago. I'll continue crossing back and forth as long as either goverment will allow me as I have too many friends over that northern border. Larry
  23. No patent as cost is more then I'm willing to pay. I only advertise them here at VR and the Delphi forum RSV & RSTD site. If I was setting up a website and advertising them all over, prices of the adapters would increase, so by doing this the way I do I can keep prices much more affordable for the members here. What profits I do make also help supplement a small pension & SS. Larry
  24. Pretty well done and does get the info across. I liked it Larry
  25. Hmmm with a handle of Big Foot maybe he was heavy footing that shifter too much. LOL Seriously thou everyone needs to add a drop or two of thread locker on that bolt. Before it gets lost. Larry
