Randy called and I was on the way to do some final shopping for the bother-in-law's birthday. We had a cookout with a group from our church that I was the reason for the cookout, then later into the family thing for the birthday. Being away from the computer I called the bother in law and walked him through signing on to the web site and posting the first message, I also had him find the list of members to get Tim's phone number because Randy and I knew he was close. Not finding his number was when I resorted to walking the bother in law through posting that Randy was in need of help, hoping someone would see and call Randy to see if they could help him. My wife said get the trailer ready when we get home and be ready to go to Harlan, so we had a plan B Randy found Tim's number and Tim got to play the white knight and come to the recuse. As our family got togeather for the birthday my bother in law asked if the guy with the broke bike had gotten any help and I told him that I had talked to Randy and that he was home and the bike had been unloaded about five minutes ago. Borther in law thought it was amazing that we had a group that would come to the aid of another so fast and I told him that it seems to be "no big thing" for this group. You guys made me proud to show my extended family that not all "bikers" are crud. Now for a little soap box - If you have not completed your profile on the members list, PLEASE do so, you never know when you might be the next one to need help. RandyA was the first Venturider.org member I met - without his help my 83 would never have been salvaged from the scrap heap. It was really hard for me to put is call for help aside and not instantly head out to get him and his bike home, THANK YOU Tim for taking up the slack. Dinner is on me when you get down this way again. Steve Neal

Saturday night will be the closing of our local community festival known as FunFest see link: http://www.visitkingsport.com/funfest/ One event you might like is "A Taste of TriCities" local resturants setup and offer "samples" in the $4-$7 range. Enough to share with a friend and move on to the next spot. Located on Fort Henry Drive - This is exit 63 on I-81 go toward Kinsport until you see the road closed signs and you will be right in the middle of it ! An outdoor concert will be across the street, I think about $15.00 bucka at the gate, open air seating featuring "The Marshall Tucker Band" Fireworks after the concert. Steve -

At Walmart the Loctite brand of plastic epoxy works well and dries clear, it is a little thin for some repairs. Devcon Plastic weld is an epoxy also and dries "milky" it is thicker than the Loctite Product. ABS glue can be found at most home builder supplies and is most times black If you look close at some of the plumbing glues you will see one that is listed for all types plastic and I have used it with limited sucess. Best all around .. the Loctite or Devcon products. You mileage may vary ......... blah blah blah Steve

front brake reservoir float switch?

Because you are having more than one warning take the CMS module out of the dash and open it up. Look for "cold joints on the circuit board, redo them as needed. The area you want to look at is the back side of the board where the large female plus is. After making sure all the connections are done really well, check for grounding issues related to the module. I was getting intermitten warnings with my 83 and after repairing the joints all is well. Might not be it but I would almost bet it is. Steve N -

Lubing the speedo on a 1st gen
sgn replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
So now that RandyA is released to go back to work, I guess the parrot will need to be returned. About the tent peg comment: Walking through the local Walmart sporting goods I noticed that those yellow plastic ten pegs are made os ABS plastic, so being the "out of the box" kind of guy I bought a package. Sure enough plastic epoxy and cut up tent pegs will put a fairing back togeather again and offer a lot of support on the backside - so my 83 blondie has now been given the offical name "Tent Peg" What can I say desperate times call for desperate measures Steve -
