  1. Sorry to hear this Nate. Having been through one myself, I believe there is little pretty about them. Say hi and a big hug to Baxter for Courtney.
  2. About 1200 miles from here. We are leaving Wed evening for Grand Forks then the real riding begins Thursday. Gonna hot foot it through the flat lands and then find some nicer roads further south.
  3. I've seen ya with clothes on Boo.....sure dont wanna see ya without! (suspect the feeling is mutual!!)
  4. I am gonna run away and hide when my name is called!
  5. My friend Gord (noddy) just bought my 05. He and his wife were down in the Black Hills the last two weeks. Before leaving he was having trouble with his cruise...it wouldnt stay on. We determined that the cancel button and gone south. Anyway, there they were cruising along on their trip and he goes to shift gears and nothing! He looks down and sees the shifter laying on the floor board! Gets stopped and finds a bolt (he didnt know about the "spare") and continues on his way. A little later he goes to shift again....nothing. This time the bolt he put in has sheared off! Sputters into a dealer....BlackHills motor sports....something like that. Yammy/Kawi dealer. They fix the bolt and have a look at the cruise cancel switch. Fix that with a little grease.....the spring in it has turn somehow. Guy a the dealership says 64 bucks. Wow...Gord says thats pretty good and produces credit card. Dealer messes up and only puts in price of 54 bucks...then says aww never mind the other 10. Then he says ...when you get back to Canada go to dealer and submit claim. Gord says....its American bike and Canada wont fix it. Guy says really....looks up the VIN and says well....no charge its still under warranty, have a great time. Remember that dealer folks.....he's worth a visit. Gord said he also has lots of bikes and at good prices.
  6. Piggy backer also has torsion suspension. The low speed ratings are presumed by many to be a CYA for the companies making the trailers.
  7. Vogel is what.....a two day ride or so? We are going and just wondering how to spend out time in between. Where to go what to see camping etc. So far the plan is to just wonder around the hills and take in whatever......
  8. All the best Jeff. Take care out there and be safe.
  9. I will....if its a dunk tank. My kids will love trying to get me! But....the army taught me well also......never volunteer for the unknown.
  10. That is good news Dan. We are gonna miss you down there....was looking forward to seeing you two again.
  11. Thanks Ruffy! Walked away from the bike and called a fella from work. He is/was a Honda wrench and owns a old Harley that he loves and babies and rides the beejesus out of. Anyway he came by and showed me how to take those suckers off and reroute....cost me a beer! Works great! BigBob stopped over two days ago and has left an hour or so ago. A whirlwind of work on my bike. Passing lamps installed the right way...relay etc. Cigarette lighter installed, levelling links installed, steering head tightened a smidgen, Rick Butler brake mod installed. Wow..... still one thing left to do and thats install my wiring for my trailer...done that a few times so it shouldnt be a problem! Thanks BigBob if you read this......and yes he does have a nice bike!
  12. I put risers on my RSV. The throttle binds open when turned to the right. I tried wiggling the cables around with no success. How to I reroute them? I have no clue, my bike is in pieces right now....
  13. Glad everyone is ok.
  14. Our thoughts and best wishes for your Dad, Rod.
  15. Brad All the best to you and Lonna on your job search and relocation. I remember you having these thoughts a couple years ago. I am sure you will be happier in a warmer climate. Given your skills I am cofident you will find work as well. We look forward to visiting where ever you guys end up.
  16. Pretty sure I've registered...two bikes and two kids. No t's for the kids. 2xl green tee for me med green tee for the missus.
  17. I'll throw some things out there. Might be not at all what it is but here goes. Fork pressures the same? Tires original? Improper alignment? Check by having someone follow behind you. Sitting crooked? Dont laugh...I had a old riding partner in Vancouver that sat way over on his left side. Said it was most comfortable and he didnt even notice it until I told him. The person following can also tell you this. Anything heavy in the left saddlebag (shot in the dark) Handle bars are evenly spaced?
  18. Ohhhhh thats bad........funny....but bad!
  19. Thanks for all the answers! The funny ones I truly deserve and will chuckle with the rest of you! I can be dumb as a post sometimes but do enjoy a good chuckle even at my own expense.
  20. I gotta ask it cause I am a firm believer that the only stupid question is the one not asked! Now before we point the bikes south it may be a real good idea to know exactly where in Arkansas we are going! What city do I punch into the GPS? BlackOwl....you can stop laughing now, you're scaring the dog!
  21. Nice bike Mike! If he's not I might be. Are you going to be at the ralley? Worse thing with armrests is that I only need them about twice a year when one of the kids travels long distance with us. I wish someone from town here had a set they werent using for the month of August....i would be set. I know the set I showed would not fit my venture.
  22. That is something!
  23. This what we put on Marilyns Vstar. We changed the bolts slightly so we could take it off quickly when she didnt have a passenger. http://store.valueaccessories.net/passengerarmrestsstandardorlowprofile.aspx Just a side note. Value accessories are great to deal with. A couple of days after we ordered this they sent us a email saying that they made a mistake and gave us two right hand ones and that the left hand one was shipped already. It actually arrived before the original order! When I emailed them asking what we should do with the "odd" part they just said to keep it...! I have ordered several other items from them and they are good.
  24. Well they do give breaks here...even to us corrections people. Some of our guys have gotten tickets too and were po'd at them for it. They mentioned to the officers that they were corrections and almost demanded to be let off! Thats nerve and wrong if you ask me. I would be po'd too....for getting caught, not for the officer doing what he/she is supposed to do. We also had a city officer get a speeding ticket from a RCMP officer...the mountie told the city officer that he should know better and sent him on his way with his tag.
  25. Probably not! Lol. Scare him half to death me thinks. Then again he knows tough women...wait till you meet his MOM.
