  1. I'm not a "Physics Major", but I have had a couple semesters of it. Which is why I know that a heavier person will have to lean farther than a lighter person. And to burst another bubble... there's no such thing as centrifugal force.
  2. That's where I got all my LEDs to build my sequential turn signals.
  3. Simple physics. If you change the center of gravity, the angle of the lean must also change accordingly when going into a curve at the same speed. Though it may be such a slight difference that you might not even notice.
  4. Unfortunately I'm not real big on theme parks. Especially with the prices they charge for admittance, souvenirs, and food. But being the "tree huger" that I am, that Roaring River area looks like something I'd like to go check out. That's only about 45 miles SE of my Mother's house. Unfortunately we won't be taking the bike down there this trip. I would, but my better half doesn't want to be stuck on the bike for that long. Oh wait! She says it's because there's nowhere to hang her dress for the wedding. Besides, the last time I rode the bike down there this early in the season, it was 17* here when I left and I was in snow, sleet, and rain almost all the way down there. LOL!
  5. Heading down to Diamond, MO. Wednesday morning to go to my little sister's wedding this next weekend. Not only do I have to wear a Tux because she made me be in the wedding party, but I also got volunteered to help with getting the dinner put together. My better half and I will be down that there for about a week. Is there anything to go see or do down there? We'll be about an hour or so west of Branson. Thought about going there one day. I think there's a Ripley's Believe it or Not museum there. Just about anything would be better that Precious Moments Inspirational Park in Carthage that I got suckered into going to go see the last time I was down there. Anybody available for a tour guide?
  6. Glue the clock back together that fell on my head when I closed the door behind me. Apparently some one didn't get it all the way back on the nail in the wall after turning it ahead this morning.
  7. That's a good description of it! But where's the cream filling?
  8. Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking in the back of my head there must be a difference. But then I didn't have to do much research to find my answer. If any for that matter. Sometimes it's just plain easier and/or quicker to ask you guys. You guys are good at filling in the gaps in my brain.
  9. Hey! Thanks for reminding me about the idiot light. I was thinking of that when I was looking at batteries but forgot about it while I was typing away earlier. And now that I take another look, they were AGM batteries, not dry-cells. I'll take a look at that other post next and see if I can learn anything else. Thanks guyz, Bill P.S. What does the stock MKI stator put out?
  10. That's about the same thing I was wanting to do also. I was also going to put in a Jensen / Phase Linear BT1611i to go along with Scala Rider Q2 multiset, Garmin Nuvi 765T, and my bluetooth cell phone. I also seen a nice waterproof case for the GPS here [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-WEATHERPROOF-Handlebar-Mount-Garmin/dp/B001G189DM]Amazon.com: Motorcycle / Bike WEATHERPROOF Handlebar Mount for Garmin Nuvi 200 200W 205 205W 250 250W 255 255W 260 260W 270 3100 310 250 560 570 650 660 670 680 75 760 770 780 850 860 870 GPS: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31fxzwVAfJL.@@AMEPARAM@@31fxzwVAfJL[/ame]
  11. When it comes time to put in a new battery in my MKI, I was thinking of going with a dry cell. I was looking on Summit just out of curiosity. They have several that will fit and put out anywhere from 210-425CCA's or more. That got me to wondering how many CCA's the OEM type battery put out. I still had the old battery down in the basement that hasn't been recycled yet and it only says 20Amps. Then of course I had to ask myself, what's the difference between Amps and Cold Cranking Amps? Nothing from what I can tell. Except of course for the whole CA's at 32* and CCA's at 0* thing of course. Then there's the extra 200-400 or so CCA's. Some better battery cables would also help to better handle the extra lead as well as help the available power in the current battery get to where it's needed. But is all that extra current to much or even necessary? I sometimes ride even if it dips into the high 30's to low 40's. The extra current would be nice. It would also be nice for those hot engine starts. Which better cables would also help. How much is to much???
  12. They don't have a center stand?
  13. I took one of the pics of his speedometer from Randy's thread and put a red circle about where I drilled/tapped and added the zerk.
  14. Those were my thoughts also. I have a friend in Spooner, WI. with a machine shop I was thinking about that may be able to help me out. If the time comes that is.
  15. When it starts to knock... have you tried asking who's there? Sorry... couldn't help myself!
  16. To bad a guy couldn't have some custom made.
  17. I ran into a guy with an 1800 Goldwing trike at a bike show. He said he got around 40mpg with it. He also said he got around 60mpg before he triked it out. There was also another MKI there. My 84 blond got "Best in Show" that year. These babies never go out of style!
  18. That's a good idea. Does the oil level even show when it's on the kickstand? I guess I don't remember ever looking. I've just always done it on the center stand.
  19. I carefully drilled a hole then tapped it and screwed in a zerk onto the speedometer housing itself. First I went almost all the way with a drill bit. I went slow and checked often to make sure I wasn't drilling into the shaft. Then finished it off with the Dremel. I made sure there weren't any burs left anywhere. Then I tapped it and added the zerk. In hindsight, I could've put a length of hose between the speedometer and the zerk so I could've remotely located the zerk so I didn't have to take anything apart to grease the speedometer. Oh well, maybe the next time I'm in there. I thought I had pics. But I was wrong. I'll get some the next time I'm in there.
  20. That's the best idea I've seen yet for those old cassette players.
  21. I just put a grease zerk on mine. I spin the front wheel while I squeeze the handle on the grease gun so the grease gets evenly distributed. I haven't heard a squeak since.
  22. Believe none of what ya hear and only half of what ya see!
  23. The oxygen tent I lived in from time to time as a small child.
  24. I have an old Honda CB450 here that had plenty fuel in the crankcase after the P.O. put "Fancy" plugs into it and burned a hole into one piston.
  25. So where did you get the light housings? What vehicle were they originally from? You mentioned that you got them in pairs. So I'm guessing they were for a car, truck or SUV? Running/driving lights maybe?
