  1. Item number:140382384356 Not even 3 whole millimeters of tread left on it. Buy-it-now price of $4.17 $43.70 Shipping
  2. Not enough! I'm waiting to put more goodies on mine till after I get a settlement out of that damn workmans comp insurance company. When it ever happens, then we'll have some fun.
  3. Looks like some of our Avons. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140382384356&_trksid=p2759.l1259 And get a load of the shipping price!
  4. Used mine last weekend. Worked great! Apparently I didn't have my steering head very close to being tight enough when I took it apart to repack the bearings. Got rid of the wobbly feeling. Thanks a bunch!
  5. Hey Pappa Bear, You might want to check your oil filter cover and housing for cracks. It sticks out like a sore thumb. with the front wheel off it might be out far enough to hit the ground. Just a thought. I had cracked/broke mine there when I had the engine fall off my trailer. I had it welded back on and things are fine.
  6. I got my warranty replacement yesterday via UPS. Date code is 3809. We'll see if this one lasts any longer. Now I just have to go burn off the rest of the old tire so I can get this one on. Have there been any reports of any accidents happening due to the cracking?
  7. Maybe you should try that switch next to the garbage disposal switch that doesn't seem to do anything.
  8. Because of some of those overboard laws, we can't even have any mercury in any of the labs at any of the colleges around here. Trust me, there are a lot more dangerous things in our labs than mercury. It doesn't make much since. It just goes to show you how well our system works when uneducated people get to make laws.
  9. Okay. I smell what your stepping in now. Looks good. Does Bubba J. only get to ride in the bag?
  10. I've also seen lights act weird when someone sticks an 1156 bulb in an 1157 socket.
  11. But what did it look like before?
  12. The tag on the new Vmax I saw a few weeks ago at the dealer said it has about 197hp!
  13. So are the valves the same in the VR and VMax?
  14. If you have deep pockets, you could check these out. http://www.wildbros.com/EFI.html If I had the extra cash, I'd go for it! But then I'm guessing that if I put that king of cash into my bike, I still don't think it would bring up its value to equal the cost of those fancy EFI systems. I think if money was no object I would start with swapping out the top end with VMax parts, 2nd. gen transmission, that total engine management EFI system, a Hi-Po clutch, better exhaust, and some solid engine mounts. And what ever else I could think of at the time. But then you know what they say... wish in one hand, sh*t in the other, and see which one fills up first!
  15. I got a reply to my last email to Avon yesterday asking for my address so they could send out a new tire. We'll see how this next one holds up. If anybody is interested, here's the website to Avontyres that I found the contact information. http://www.avonmoto.com/ And here is the name of the guy who helped me out with the warranty and his email address. Corbett, Kevin A. Due to the guys email address, (@mickeythompsontires.com), Condor had pointed out that this guy may only be a dealer. He also posted a tele # in an earlier post to call them directly. I never did find out for sure if he was a dealer or actually working for Avontyres. Either way, I don't really care as long as their willing to send me a new tire under warranty. Here are some pictures of what my tire looks like.
  16. So was that a head on collision? Cage over on your side of the road? EDIT: Okay, never mind. I read your previous post now. All I can say is... WOW!
  17. I sent an email to Avontyres yesterday after leaving my last post to tell them about the cracking on my rear. Shortly after, I got a responce back. --- On Tue, 3/30/10, Corbett, Kevin A. wrote: > From: Corbett, Kevin A. > Subject: RE: Contact us (avontyres) > To: a1bummer@yahoo.com > Date: Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 12:47 PM > Hi Bill, I will need to know the > tread depth of your tire, the size and a picture to start a > warranty. > Kevin I'll send him the requested information and see what happens next.
  18. Well I just noticed yesterday that my rear Avon that I had replaced last summer has a lot of sidewall cracking after sitting this winter. Date code is 0608. It only has about 5000 - 6000 miles on it. The ME880 on the front that has gone through a couple seasons already looks great. So who does a guy get a hold of to ask about warranties? I got it through Jake Wilson if that matters. I'm assuming I need to get a hold of someone at Avon? Anybody have the number?
  19. Thanks. I see there are a lot more JavaScript Calculators now than there were before. I figured it all out on paper years ago and then checked my math using them when I was trying to figure out what ring & pinion ratio I wanted in my 78 F100 after I put in the E4OD. I went from a 3.27:1 to 3.89:1. If I remember right that is.
  20. Is there an application like that in English somewhere? That sure would beat having to do it all on a piece of paper and a calculator.
  21. Babies that is! We had the grand daughters for the past couple nights. One is 3 and the other is almost 14 months. I just couldn't help but wonder just how inefficient their eating habits are. I mean half their food ends up either on the floor, on their clothes, or all over the high chair. I wonder just how much food is wasted by babies alone each year?
  22. So what are the gear ratios for the 2nd. gens and VMax? MKI/MKII Trans: 1st. = 2.6:1 2nd. = 1.772:1 3rd. = 1.347:1 4th. = 1.068:1 5th. = 0.906:1 MKI/MKII Ring & Pinion: 2.566:1?
  23. I'd say "stupid" about sums it up. ADJECTIVE: stu·pid·er, stu·pid·est Slow to learn or understand; obtuse. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake. Dazed, stunned, or stupefied. Pointless; worthless: a stupid job. NOUN: A stupid or foolish person.
