This gorgeous trike was at a show a couple of weeks ago , and i noticed that it had a Venture engine in it. When I looked at the plaque it said it was a 1985 Venture Royale. Yamaha should take some notes, .....but its missing the cassette player. Sorry about the pics, i had to use Debs Blackberry camera and it really doesnt show off the paint or the quality of the build, but you get the idea. Brian

Does anyone here have any feedback - or have - an American Trike (that is the mfg. of the conversions kit). A friend of mine is looking at converting her V STAR 1100 over by using one of these conversion kits as she was told they could produce a kit for her, just not sure about that - and I had never heard of this manufacturer. www.americantrike.com Thanks in advance.

I have bad hips, so my Venture is getting pretty tough, especially at intersections 2up. So, I have been thinking of going the trike way. I rode my first Trike yesterday, finally, after looking at them and asking about them for a year or so. First off, I stopped at one of the local HD dealers to look at their 'from the factory' trikes - they didn't have one. The salesman told me they sell them as fast as they come in. So, I went to a local shop that sells & installs several Trike kits. The guy was wonderfully helpful! He let me test drive one and said to take it for a half hour or so. 'Enjoy yourself'. So, my wife & I climbed on and took it down the street heading for the Interstate. - I didn't get that far. I just didn't feel very stable with the steering. My wife said that she felt like she was being thrown side to side. It was me trying to get used to the handling - NO Leaning and turning with the handlebars. The trike rode wonderful and I'm sure that one gets used to the handling, but for the 15 minutes I was on it, I didn't care for it. I only got the trike up to about 45ish, I didn't feel comfortable enough to go faster. So, I told the guy thanks for his time and letting me try one, but I will wait until I absolutely HAVE to have to either give up riding or get a trike. The guy said he understood, but assured me that if I took the bike for a longer ride, I would get comfortable with it. I just don't think I am ready to give up on my leaning yet. It's just my opinion, I am in no way meaning to bash trikes. They just aren't for me, (yet). craigr

I've looked at the Trike forum...reviewed the Darksiders forum...and still have questions... Second Gen RSMV....Tri-Wing Trike 6 degrees of rake (ie E-Z Steer) rides & performs like a dream...last week was 2000+ miles of the Ozarks...bit dodgie in the rain, but was expected...BUT....the front tire (M/C) isn't gonna make it....6000 miles and it's 75% gone..Need opinons or suggestions on conveting to a C/T....

I need to find out about a Reverse Gear For A 1986 Venture Royale Trike. I am disabled in my right leg and find it really hard to back up without getting off and pushing it back.

Ok folks I'm officially a triker now. Today was the day I finished up this long project. Before I describe what I've done I'd like to thank JerryM, Bikenut, and whom ever else I've gleaned info from on trikes. Thanks guys for the info and insight. Second I'd like to thank Tri-Wing from who I bought my trike kit. They are imo a first class company who've answered many of my questions before and after the sale. I also had the chance to see what their customer service was like when I happened to have a leaking air bag. Darlene promptly took matters in hand to resolve the issue. Here's a quick run down on the project. First on the agenda was to remove damaged parts and determine what had to be replaced from my accident back in August. Then it was time to order replacement parts as well as make the decision to convert the ride to a three wheeler. From there it was ordering parts. Over a period of time parts came in so I dived into this project installing the trike frame and preparing the body to my liking. Besides the trike install I also had the trees raked by Steer-Rite, added in a set of Sonic fork springs, and mounted up a set of Flanders pullbacks along with the longer brake & throttle cables. Attached below are a few pics as the project progressed. Enjoy. Any one with questions I'll be happy to pass along whatever knowledge I gain doing this project. Once the Voyager kit is on your bike the question is: Is this a trike, or a quad bike?????????? A trike has three wheels -- a quad has four As a RSV with kit on is somewhere in between, I decided they should have their own unique name, so here-on in they will be referred to as: A "QUIKE" :dancefool:

Either there are more RSVs on the roads these days, or I am just paying more attention to the bikes I see. Past (going same direction) a canary yellow RSV trike today on hwy 62E in Charlestown, IN today. Seen it before in Jeffersonville on hwy 62. Some day I'll find him and put a card on his trike.

I just got the trike a bit ago and now my wife will not ride with me! Coming from the rear comfort of a Goldwing se to the seat and backrest of a 2001 royal star touring was too much of a slide......... Are there any trunks/backrests that would improve on the situation? I do have an ad in the wanted section. Help!

Just wanted to say thanks to those that helped with my problem, when I jacked up the front end I could see it was bottoming out, duh---must be my gray blond roots showing!!! Installed a set of Progressive fork springs, thanks also to the tech. talk where there are nice instructions/photos, and was out testing it in less than a hour. The more I ride the trike the more I like it, getting more and more dangerous to ride my two wheeler, forgetting to put my feet down when I stop. As a new guy to the group it's nice to have so many willing to help. I also understand I'm supposed to post some pictures of the trike but will have to get my 9 year old grandson to help with that task. Thanks again for the help.

Just been thinking that I might also enjoy having a Trike Kit installed on my RSV and would apprediate some honest answers to a few questions that comes to mind. 1. What is the brand of yours? 2. Do you truly like and enjoy it? 3. Is there anything in particular that you dislike about it? 4. Do you feel in control at all times? 5. Do you feel any safer now than you did on 2 wheels? 6. Do you have that Proud feeling, like "Busting your Buttons"? Or just always smiling! 7. Is turning corners on city streets any problems? 8. Is it hard to steer at all? 9. How efficient are the rear brakes? 10. Have you ever tipped it up on 2 wheels? 11. Can you push it backwards fairly easy? 12. How much did it reduce your gas mileage? Man, that's a lot of questions! I hope that I'm not being too inquisitive and I thank you for the answers! Owen.

Got the trike back Saturday. Apparently the drive shaft was aligned wrong and the rotors were bad on the rear brakes. There was alot of vibration and noise. Took it back to the mechanic and they had to adjust the drive shaft and put on new rotors. Since I picked it up Saturday afternoon, I have put several hundred miles on it. It's running way better now and I'm loving it! Except for the gas mileage. I was getting 36 mpg before the trike kit and now I am only getting 26-27 mpg. The carbs have been synched. Anyone have an idea what else it could be? I posted some more parts for sale in the classifieds if anyone is interested. Will post more pics when I get time. See everyone at the rally next week. Don

Hey has anyone got any info on bringing Trikes into Canada from the states??? I was told yseterday that if I was to convert my bike to a Trike or buy a Trike in the USA and tried to register it in Canada they would not allow it. This came from Canadian Customs.

the wife & I were south bound on our bike spotted 2 ventures going north, first bike was dark color, but second was a silver trike venture, anyone on this site?

Friday morning about 10AM on Illinois I-55 just north of Litchfield I passed a Venture trike pulling a trailer riding with a HD. It was southbound. Anybody here?

Was told today by a friend that used to work for Harley and his wife still does, that Harley will have a water cooled V4 in 2010. Don't really care as I have a Honda trike but thought I would put it out there.
