  1. Yes that's right front master cylender went leeked brake fluid on right side pocket lid so im setting around 80 miles north of dealer called them and they have some one fly in the new parts for tomarrow so I will have to drive it there hauling the trailer in the AM. Oh did I mention my phone took a dump to. Called them yesterday FED-X should be here any time with my tenth yes that's right # ten. Droid sucks phone:doh: Dray
  2. I received a phone call the other day from a young lady. She was given my phone number by a mutual friend, who referred her to me because I own a Venture. She and her boyfriend just bought a 1988 Venture Royale about 3 weeks ago and while out riding it the clutch went out. She wanted to know if there was anything I could do to help them get it working again. Today I went over to their house and was shocked to find a showroom condition 1988 Royale. It was absolutely beautiful. It only had 9700 miles on it when they bought it, not a scratch on it, and it had all the chrome you could put on it. After drooling over it for about 20 minutes we finally got down to looking at the clutch, and it looked like it still had the original fluid in it, so I proceeded to flush out the old fluid with new and bleed it and had it back working in about 30 minutes. He said it was even smoother than before. I finally asked him how much he paid for it and was shocked when he told me $2500.00. I nearly fell over. It had brand new E3's on it and ran pretty good but I suggested he run some Seafoam through it and it would be much better. They wanted to pay me for doing it, but I told them I was just paying it forward for all the help I have had from certain members here who have helped me out and also told them about VR, so we should see them on here very soon and they will likely be coming to Vogel. I told him he would meet some great people there and could also get his carbs synced while there. His name is Jerry and he is a Federal Prison Correctional Officer, so he will fit in here nicely. Its also nice to have another Venture owner close by to ride with. So please make him welcome when he comes on board.
  3. I don't have a cell phone and don't particularly want one. That said it appears that a cell phone could be considered as a necessary piece of safety chrome. I'm coming to Cody so if I buy one in Canada, can I make calls in the US or do I need to buy one in the US for that? Obviously I know squat about this topic so any reasonably accurate info will be much appreciated.
  4. Great fairing for the price. Good service. I finally got it painted, installed and wired for sound. It doesn't play cassette tapes though but I can run my droid phone through it for mp3 listening pleasure and GPS service. Mounting was straight up to the stock windshield mount. No modification at all. Next addition has got to be a ram mount for the phone. Harley riders look at me funny now trying to figure out just what kind of bike it is.
  5. I am sure I saw someone at one time who does leather work. But my rememberer is not so good. lol I would like them to Pm or phone me. So we can talk...............Ron
  6. Ok, I'm having a problem here. I ordered new tires from them on May, 17th 2011 and they comfirmed the order by the next morning. I used PayPal and my bank account showed the proper debit by the end of May 18th, 2011. Since then..........nothing! I have tried to contact them by e-mail twice with no response and tried to call their number (1-520-628-2947) and it is disconneted. The listed fax number (1-520-784-0564) is disconnected as well. ' I know they no longer will take orders over the phone but they seem to be unavailable at all. Any one know what is going on with them or have a working phone number? Mike
  7. I did not wash it with my clothes, I ran over it with my lawn mower. I was trying to get my front yard done before it got too dark and some how my cell phone came out of my pocket and I ran over it with the riding mower. Not too good as it went everywhere. So, I guess I will look for another Verizon phone and I just like a basic flip phone with a camera. Don't need all that other stuff. RandyA

  9. my at&t wifi modem crashed for the second time last week, so i ditched my at&t highspeed and phone service. went to sprint cellular for a home phone and picked up sprint mobile highspeed for the internet. i decided to get rid of my big computer, cuz it's getting old and takes up to much space. i'm on my acer note book now, and it works great. i'm shopping for a new laptop with a 15.6 screen and about 3 0r 4 g memory and 500g hard drive. where is a good place to find a good price and what brands should i look for?
  10. Some knew about the red light on cars, but not the 112. It was about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until they get to a gas station, etc. Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called 112 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way. Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes. I never knew about the 112 Cell Phone Feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe place. *Speaking to a service representative at Bell Mobility confirmed that 112 was a direct link to State trooper info. So, now it's your turn to let your friends know about 112. You may want to Send this to every woman (and man) you know; it may save a life. 11. I have an 09 RSV and a Motorola Droid X cell phone. Its my music and GPS also. The phone dosent seem to fit my Ram Mount universal holder real well so I have it rubber banded on there for extra security. I came across the Rider's Claw and was wondering if anybody has one mounted on their RSV? If so any chance I could get a pic or two (the mount is made for HD but has adapter handlebar brackets for non HD bikes). I'd appreciate it and ride safe ya all!! 12. Two Red Ears A blonde with two red ears went to her doctor. The doctor asked her what had happened to her ears and she answered, "I was ironing a shirt and the phone rang - but instead of picking up the phone I accidentally picked up the iron and stuck it to my ear." "Oh Dear!" the doctor exclaimed in disbelief. "But, what happened to your other ear?" "The jerk called back!"
  13. Been looking at all the info about adding phone to to the RSV setup. What I have is an iphone 3gs and a HTC evo. I know I can get the sound from the phone to the headsets. Is there a way to get headset mic output into the phone? I was thinking about building a patch cable like this http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/05/28/diy-an-ipod-touchiphone-microphone-and-headphone-breakout-cable/ But need diagrams and info on the coms setup so I can see if this(the mic feed) is doable. I know BuddyRich makes a breakout cable for you garmin users. Anyone have any info? Basically the phone is a mp3 player and paperweight (we switched to Sprint) Thought I could use it for the GPS and music. But also my current phone uses the same style of headset. Thanks for any info Frank

  16. Well yesterday as I left a job interview I started hearing a weirn high pitched noise. I pulled into a gas station and checked things out. I could not find anything that may have caused the noise. I decided to baby the bike home and really get into things after it cooled down. Well I did not hear the noise again. Got home parked it in the garage and started digging through threads to find a starting point. About the time I thought it had cooled enough my wife got home. That is when I figured out the noise. I had gotten a new cell phone and was not used to the ringtone. She had tried to call hoping to catch me before I headed home. Lesson, always check the phone first then the bike. Thought you might get a laugh out of this. Shaun
  17. Has anybody got a downloadable parts manual for a 2005 RSTD the people here dont do any work on this type of bike and its sometimes hard to explain over the phone the part needed much easyer to quote PT/No Thanks Terry
  18. I recently bought an O'neal Tirade bluetooth Helmet from Racers Edge in California. The bluetooth is built in so that drew me to this helmet. It uses the Blinc III system. I ordered an xxl helmet and I got an xl helmet in an xll box so I sent it back. They paid shipping. I got the second helmet the other day and went for a ride on a very windy afternoon. Here's my initial thoughts: FIT: It is an XLL and I have a big head. Fits nice and snug and the cheek pads press a bit on the cheeks. Not too bad but perhaps with some wear I won't notice it. NOISE: Very windy today and very little wind noise inside the helmet. I was impressed. SINC: Very easy. I have an Android. Phone: Called my wife and she heard me well and I heard her well. When a phone call is received it only comes through one speaker. I received a call while I was riding and the person seemed to not notice I was on a cycle. It was a telemarketer so I didn't ask her how I sounded! MUSIC: I had Air1 on my phone and it played well through the speakers. I need to get some mp3 songs on my phone. I noticed the speakers plug into the charging unit so a person could easily upgrade the speakers. CHARGING: The plug for charging is under the lining at the back of the helmet. Not real convenient. I do not know how long a charge will last. I guess it depends if you are listening to music or just using it for phone use. OTHER: You have to learn how to use the side button to get to the menu you need. I haven't used it enough to figure it out. INTERCOM: It does have an intercom and you can set it up for a rider. I don't have a rider so I don't need a second helmet. Overall: Well, so far so good. For $240 shipped I was willing to take the risk. It it a sharp looking full face helmet. If you are thinking Bluetooth you might look into this helmet.
  19. Question for those of you using our know about this headset. I just got it in the mail and its charging but got a couple of questions. 1. Can the rider and passenger have their headsets paired to different phones? That way she can answer her phone and I can answer mine, but more importantly, when shes on her own bike with our without me along, I'm hoping it can be paired to her own phone. 2. Anyone using a Captivate phone with this set? Are you able to get your navigation over BT from the Captivate? I really dont want to spend $500 on aZumo if I can just use my phone... 3. Any other recommendations before we get started using them? Thanks! Mike
  20. Greetings ! I am in the process of buying two Nolan N-102 helmets for me and my wife to use on our trip to the USA this coming June. Saves me the extra luggage bringing our helmets from Iceland. I want to have Bluetooth in the helmets but am not sure what to get. Here in Iceland I have the Nolan Bluetooth device in my helmet and it works pretty good apart from that the speakers are lousy to say the least when you play music from the Zumo but I have loaded some music files into the device. Maybe the problem is the transfer of music data from the Zumo to the bluetooth device ?? The GPS and the phone on the other hand has very good sound quality and people I speak with on the phone can hardly believe that I am riding a motorcycle and speaking with them on the phone. Was wondering if any of you have a bluetooth set that would fit the Nolan helmets and has a good sound quality going wireless. I want to be able to be hooked to my GPS, being able to talk to my wife (the other helmet) as well as answering the phone. Is this possible ? Can both helmets answer the phone or can only one helmet take the signal?? Any advice on the bluetooth highly apreciated Would like to avoid going with wire hookup. Friendly regards, Jonas / StarFan
  21. Just today I have activated my 9Th. yes thats right #9 as of today; I had the first droid when they came out. had problems till they replaced it 4 times. they then upgraded me to the droid 2 for free. nice of them I know. and today they just gave me my 5 th. Droid 2 had everything from dropped calls, screen with white band wouldn't go away, cant answer till calling party hangs up then you have to look and see who called then call them back, speakers quit working, screen goes black and locks up, phone gets quieter as you talk till you cant hear your party talk, weekly calls to phone co. to try to fix problems. most having a temp fix of pull the battery and then put it back and restart. several fixes of wipe it out and reboot to factory settings. in most cases this was another temp fix if at all; but one they seem to like doing in store today at the store there were three other people there with droids all with similar complaints anyways was wondering if anyone else has had this much trouble with there phones ..... OK I feel better now.
  22. Has anyone figured out how to bluetooth your radio and cb player to your bluetooth helmet. With any combination of cell phone gps etc?
  23. I have my new cell phone number now listed in my Profile. Please update this change in your cell phone contact list. Boomer....who now has a Loozeeanner phone number.
  24. I posted a while back that I needed a favor of someone living around Bend Oregon. Well I had someone that responded via text. Was willing to help out. Then I got a text from someone else that contained a phone number. The sending number was blocked so I have no idea who it was from. The phone number has led to me finding my father after a 23 year absence. Whoever sent that text, you are an GREAT PERSON!!!! I owe you a debt that I can never repay. I a not even sure how you knew what I needed. Shaun
  25. Or does it seem that nobody bothers to answer their phones anymore? I'm not talking about my friends or relatives either. However some of them don't like to answer their phones either. I'm talking about businesses, employers, etc.. Just to name a couple, I've been trying to reach a guy who contacted me via email about a lab tech. job and he never answers his phone. I keep leaving messages but he doesn't call back. Last summer I had applied for another job not to far from home that payed well. The woman who was in charge of setting up new employee start dates called me but called the wrong number. I got her message about setting up a my start date about 5 days later. I called her asap but she wouldn't return my calls. I got a hold of the main office to explain what happened and I was told I didn't pass their physical. I asked what par of the physical I didn't pass and I was told that the people who performed the physical didn't supply that information. Which sounded fishy seeing as how the message was to discuss my start date. There has been more than one time when I was looking for some goodies of some sort during normal business hours and they didn't answer the phone, I simply left a message that seeing as how there was nobody to answer the phone, I was going to take my business elsewhere. The last tie I was looking for a dentist, I made about 4 calls to different dentists until I got to one that was actually open or bothered to answer the phone. Now I know people get busy or have other issues arise, but it seems to be happening more and more. Ok, ok, enough ranting.I just needed to vent a bit. I've just been looking for a better job and it doesn't seem as though I'm being taken very seriously. I'm glad riding season is almost here! Bill,
