  2. I have a friend "Chuck" that just started a charity ride to raise money for a few charities. They are going to hit 22 states in 23 day's covering about 9000 miles. If you go to the facebook page and click the like button they will get $2.00 for each like they get. If you care to, please take a look and maybe like their page. Thanks
  3. I need pair of new shoes for my Stratoliner, anyway i will buy here or from other MC online store. Does those guys with banners on top of the page offer any discount for VR members, or do any good for site, and if so do I have to enter any promo code? Love ya all.

  7. Looking for some help. I have an 05 RSTD with the quick disconnect windshield. I want to purchase the wide open plactics audio fairing and they say it uses the factory windshield mounts. After looking at the pictures on the web page they show an 05 RSTD with the fairing but the windshiled brackets are not the quick disconnect style. Does anyone know if the windshiled brackets for a 2001 RSTD will fit on the 2005 model? Any help would be great. The web page for the fairing is www.wideopencustom.com
  8. Has anyone done this recently? I'm reading the procedure in the book but I'm not gasping it.. adjust at the handle and then at carb end? and then the cruise control end? Where is that located? (page 3-16 3-17) I have a lot of slop in the throttle that I need to tighten up once and for all..
  9. Just an FYI for those that do not receive this page. http://www.bikerspost.com/forum/topics/motorcycle-checkpoints-in?xg_source=activity
  10. I'm going to replace my laptop and it looks like it'll be Vista or windows 7 OS. My problem is that I HAVE to install Front Page 2003 on it to run a program. I can't seem to confirm that Front Page 2003 will run in Vista, been running on XP Pro
  11. When initially viewing "Active Threads From The Forums" there are 15 threads showing. In order to view the remaining 5 on the first page I have to click on "MORE". After getting a full 20 items on the first page, all of the following pages have all 20 items on them right away. I am curious about why all 20 items are not viewable right away when looking at the first page. Not a huge inconvenience, just curious. I'll bet someone has a very logical explanation. Probably the "boss".
  12. Webbike World has posted their annual products of the year page. Nothing that really excites me but maybe of interest to some. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycles/best-motorcycle-products-2010.htm
  13. I regularly read the Roadbike rag on the news stands. I was going thru the Nov '10 issue and found an article on group riding on page 73. Looked at the picture on the first page (only way to truly read any rag or book) and saw two RSV's in the foreground of the pic. Are these anyone here??? If so you have made national publication. That was the Nov '10 issue of Roadbike on page 73.
  14. OK folks, I've started re-programming the countdown to our events page. I've added "Spring, "Maintenance Day" and the "International Rally" so far. If you have dates to other events, see some that won't be held this year, need to add other major ones, please post the info here so I can get it updated. Thanks for your help. Here is a quick link to the page: http://www.venturerider.org/rally/

  16. I just visited their website to find the next auction. This weekend.... While on the home page I started looking at some of the cars coming up for auction in Vegas. The page showed about 4 and a half cars. Then I dragged to the left and... what a cool pic display!! You need to give it a try. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/ Scroll down to the Las Vegas logo and click and drag. It hard to discribe, and I've never seen anything like it... Hats off to the web designer...
  17. The Crusty Riders of Wisconsin? Aka The Crow? If I remember right anyway. I found them while looking for a sidecar on Craigslist a month or so ago. Then I was able to find their facebook page they mentioned. But now I can't find them again. Anybody here a member or have the link? Thanks, Bill

  19. Hello folks. I saw this listed on Ebay today and thought maybe someone on our site may be interested. Its a 1983 Venture that looks like it could be new. Just look under Royal Star. It was listed on 6/28. I tried to put a link to the page but for some reason it didn't work. Sorry
  20. When I am in a thread and I try to use the mark forums read under the quick links at the bottom of the page, I get the following message. If I use the one at the top of the page, it works fine. Only the bottom one does this. It's happened a couple times now. I can't say this is terribly important. Other links work fine. But I thought you might like to know. Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.
  21. Sometime in the near future, I will be making some major changes to the VentureRider site. This is not something that I want to do but am pretty much being forced to do. This site is a conglomeration of several different software packages that are somewhat integrated together so that a single login works from the home page, the forum, classifieds, etc. It is a common occurrence that I have to upgrade the software from time to time. Sometimes it is to add new features but it is often because new security vulnerabilities are discovered. Once they are discovered, it is not long before the hackers and spammer find out about them and then we are open to such attacks. The problem is though that often if an upgrade is required in one area, for example the forum, then it causes problems with other areas such as the home page. So it's a chain effect, an upgrade here ends up requiring an upgrade to other parts of the site. Often it is after an upgrade is already done before you find the problems that it caused in other areas. An example is this last upgrade where an upgrade to the forum software caused such things as the "Mark Forums Read" and etc. to stop working on the home page and also the side menu here. That is because the side menu here on the forum is actually part of the home page software. It all gets so confusing. While it can be irritating and cause a lot of work and debugging each time, the problem is that the people who wrote the software that I am using on the home page appear to have pretty much given up that business. They are no longer offering upgrades or support for the software. This last little change and the problems that it caused created some real headaches and several hours to figure out what code needed to be changed so that it all worked together again. As more changes are made to the forum, the problem will get much worse. The bottom line is that I am going to have to completely redo the VentureRider home page from scratch. Remove the current software and integration and come up with a new solution. Over the next week or two I will be looking at various options and making a decision on what will the be best route forward. There may be some changes that some of you like and there may be some things that go away that some of you will really miss. It can't be helped and I promise that I will try my best to retain all the current features that I can. The good news is that the actual discussion forum will remain pretty much the same. The decision that I make for the home page will determine if there are any changes at all to the forum. If there are changes, it will still be the same basic software and no changes in the way that it actually works on your end. Also, we should not lose any posts. The only thing that we might lose, at least temporarily, are some of the custom features that I have added over the years. If so, I will add them back as soon as possible. Well that's the story. It is not going to happen today or this weekend but will be happening soon. This is such a big change that when I do it, I will very likely have to shut down the site for at least a couple of hours. I will give advance notice before doing that.
  22. I was looking at a Vmax form and some fellow mentioned that there were V4 logo inserts available for the vmax for the Stator and Clutch covers. Mine are missing some chrome so I went and looked and I think they look cool. Now my question is...will they fit my 85 G1? Here is the link. they are at the bottom of the page under vmax engine enhancements page, sorry it wont let me link directly to it. http://www.exactrep.com/acatalog/index.html?http%3A//www.exactrep.com/acatalog/catalogbody.html&CatalogBody Brian
