So, I took my clutch basket out today. I was supposed to have had the " I " basket swap but for some reason I don't trust nobody and the swap made no difference in the whine so I took it out to check. Supposedly the basket should have an " I " stamped somewhere on it...? I don't see it on mine. Do any of you have a pic of exactly what is stamped on the back??? Here's pics of mine... is it or is it not an " I " basket??? EDIT: I'll rephrase that... I don't trust the Yamaha dealer but I do trust you guyz !

So I was looking at another picture of a RSV and my CB antenna is on the opposite side of the picture of another RSV. Which is right? I know my radio picks up good but me CB does not. At least not as good as I thought it should. Mine is an 03 and the other picture is an 09 would that make a difference? Thanks

Well guys, after a bunch of research on the subject, I broke down and ordered a Scorpio SR I900. This puppy has RFID technology so it automatically disarms when you approach and arms when you walk away. It has shock/motion and tilt sensors, a self contained battery back up and an INCREDIBLY load siren. I got mine with the optional Yamaha specific wiring harness, so installation was a snap. Started this morning and had it completely ready to go in less than an hour. Everything fit under the seat. No wires to cut, just a factory connector to unplug and a new harness to insert in the middle. Run one wire to the hot side of the battery, locate the items and you're done. No idea how well it will hold up yet, but it looks well made and at this point works as advertised. I am VERY satisfied thus far and would encourage anyone interested in an alarm to check 'em out. I got mine online at absolutecycle.com for $339 with free shipping, and that included the cycle specific wiring harness. My insurance company gave me a discount of $24 dollars a year-not a chunk, but still better than nothing.

Just ordered the upgrade kit from PCW and it seems someone else in the Tomball, Tx area just ordered it too( occording to John at PCW). I would like to assist, if someone wants to give me a holler when they start their upgrade. I would like to see one done before I tackle doing mine. I should be doing mine in about 2 weeks and obviouly was hoping to find someone locally that has done the change and can supervise the change with me since I have never done it. I just want someone over my shoulder on some of the work. thanks

I am looking for opinions from you Venture guys. I currently have an 06 Road Star, BAK, V&H Shortshots, Mustang, and a bunch of other bits and pieces of chrome. I have an older gentleman that is wanting to trade his 99RSV straight across for mine. Now, I love my Road*, but was looking for a Venture (or some other full dress bike) when I bought it. Here is how he describes his bike: "99RSV,51k miles good rubber, runs strong, Dyna3k ignition, K&N filters, www tires (Metzlers) Road king mufflers, plus stock, passing lamps, visors, clear lenses. CB, am/fm, tape deck, criise control all work flawlessly" The 51k is what worries me as mine only has 15K. I am wondering if this would be a good deal for me or if I would be better off keeping the Road*?

Under the right side cover (the one above the passenger floorboard) there are 2 relays. The larger one is black and is the flasher relay. The other is blue. Does anyone know what this relay is for? Just noticed today that mine makes a buzzing sound when the key is on and the bike is in gear. Put it in neutral and the buzzing stops. Wondering if this is normal or if the relay is going south for the winter.

I am sure there are a few out there. Who has removed the plastichrome accents off their fairing? Preferably blue 2007. Please post picture(s) if you have. I am thinking about taking mine off, but would like to see how it looks first. Thanks

I am reposting this here to answer some questions in other threads. The Avon Cobra I am running on the frount is 150/80R/16 radial frount tire. I bought mine from Bikebandit.com, it was 164.95 Plus 7.95 shipping. they ship fast too. For me this is one of the best things I have done for the RSV, it seems to solve all of the handling problems, and rides great. I do have the kumho ct on back, its a great combo. I really believe that the RSV needs radial tires. I am reposting pictures of mine mounted on the 2004, I will check with Micky he has my 2000 which has the cobra and nexum, to see how many miles he has on it now. Gregg

A few weeks ago while in S`port, LA. at a freinds house ( on our way to Lowells) our freinds next door neighber had a MM parked in his Garage.. I looked to see if he was out side or in the garage, but no go... I didn`t want to go knock on his door, any way, I do have his name, but just wanted to see if it is a member of the site. Our freind was going to give him all of the VRO info and mine... So is it any one here???? K

Unfortunately I posted this in the Royal Tech area earlier, sorry. Was wondering if there was anyone near Central Mo (Sedalia) that already has a carb synch setup that would be willing to help me do mine. I am very leary about messing with the carbs by myself. I would travel to your place or you could come to mine. I would also buy dinner. Thanks, Donnie

I can't find my connector for a headset anywhere on the bike. the wifes is right under the seat. But mine has gone missing. Where should I look for it?

Well, I boosted the Kumho's pressure to 42psi and that took away the squirreliness I had been feeling. I had the wife follow me down some side streets and then a freeway to observe the contact profile. She said she saw no real difference from the M/C tires. We also checked to see if the speedo would read differently. Nope -- mine is exactly 5% off as it always has been. Eventually, I may get that Avon Cobra for the front, but the current tire only has about 5K on it and hardly shows any wear. Woo-Hoo!! Finally made it completely into the Darkside.

Here are my pics. I took mine at the campsite. I'll have to get everyone's screen names together so you'll know who everyone is. I did get a few done though. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Mini-Muffins%20Asheville%202009/ Margaret
