This is Cindy.... . just put the leveling links on Dales bike and after he took it off the lift I noticed fluid....antifreeze I believe...... here are 2 picks showing where the leak is ..........any ideas???????? A couple of days ago Black Owl just sent me a pair of fork protectors that a member won at Ft Collins, and instructed Russ to send to me. It been a while since July and he can't remember who the member was...old age thing..., but that he thinks?? he came from Winnipeg...? Anyway I'd sure like to know who it is so I can thank him personally. Any Ideas. BTW Russ makes these things and I really like them.

Help! Yesterday morning on my way to work about an hour before sunrise... doing hand to hand combat with the cagers on the way to work... and my headlight and dash lights go out at the same time!! At least I still had my driving lights, but it made me nervous to say the least... Anyone have any ideas what may have caused it?? I guessed that maybe the starter swith might be going bad... so I changed it out last nite... no change! I'm stumped. -
Finally got everything connected to the engine and it started right up. That was testerday. ran fine. Today, it will start but only with full choke and only one cylinder firing. the tach works. the cylinder that runs is the right front. Any ideas???

Does anyone know where I can get the connector that goes from the Bike to the passengers helmet on an 88 Venture? I have the piece that connects on the bike and plugs into the bike but I do not have anything to connect to the helmet. It has 11 pins. Any ideas????

At exactly 64-68 mph, I get a clack-clack-clack sound from the right rear of bike. Approx. 120 times per minute. Can't find anything loose, speed specific, don't have anyone to ride next to me. It only does it at these speeds. Any ideas? New me880's w/2k on them, no bumps noticible on rear tire. I'm stumped!!! Thanks, Dan

They work sometimes. Sometimes they don't. On the ride to Sturgis, they worked all the way there and all the way back until the last 50 miles. Yesterday they worked on the way to the club then didn't work on the way back. Hazard flashers work. When the turn signals don't work, none of the turn signal lights come on. I hate intermittent electrical problems. They are a b**** to track down. Anybody ever run into this before? Any ideas? I've practically taken the bike apart and put it back together again looking for a solution. Thanks.

Went to start my bike this morning, turned the key, hit the start button and nothing! Neutal light is on, and the headlight dimmed as I hit the start button. Does anybody have any ideas before I shell out $300 for a new starter motor? Thanks -
of a stator assembly for an '84 VR? Mine went bad and the dealer here wants $340.00 for a new assy from Yamaha. I'm thinking it may be a little high but am not sure. Any ideas? Thanks!

:sign67:I've gotten some pretty good advice so far, so lets try again. '89vr. new clutch (yamaha oem). Changed fluid and bled-no air. New oil(when clutch was changed. After the bike warms up, the clutch STILL slips when I get on the throttle. I am fresh out of ideas. By the way, I cleaned out the little hole in the clutch resevoir. I feel like I'm bangin' my head against a wall on this.

I need the electrical wizards help! I have two issues... First, my turn signals only work intermittently. (Yeah I know they are supposed to go on and off....that is not what I me:no-no-no:...I have been around here long enough to know a comment was coming) Hitting bumps seems to make a difference. Any thoughts or ideas where to look? Or tests to run? Second, my horn has quit. The previous owner took off the stock horns and it now has auto horns. I have replaced the horn rely and it work for like a day. Any thought on what could be the problem? I have take apart the handlebar switch and cleaned connections, etc....didn't help. Looking for some ideas and options!, which always are in great supply around here! -
Any one out there know if a set of Driver Floorboards from a '84 will fit a '89? I have been looking for a complete set and saw some on Ebay for an '84 but I don't know if they will fit on my '89. Any ideas......

Hello Everyone, I'm looking for a bit of advice or your thoughts. I took my '05 RSTD in for the 28K maintenance the other day and now I'm noticing a gasoline smell that wasn't there before. Nothing is leaking that I can see. Any ideas? Is this something that will go away in a day or two? Could the technician have left a fuel line loose or something? Thanks, Lee

They sell these on ebay, about $50 I think. Anyone made their own? I have been trying to keep my eye out for something that might work. Thought about a visor organizer made for car/truck and then use super velcro to lid. Even a net of some sort would be nice. Place for maps and such. Give some ideas. Thanks,

Are the bolt-on engine and luggage guards for 83-85 VRs still available out there??? Sure wouldn't mind having a set on the ride, haven't been able to find them. Any ideas????? Thanks to all!!!!
