  1. Just noticed you are selling your rear trunk guard. With the LED bulbs, that guard would light up the rear of the bike like a Christmas tree. If I could figure out how to mount it on the Viagra, I'd jump on it at that price.
  2. My old Army National Guard unit, 211th Engineer Companay (Sapper) deployed this morning. There was a convoy of busses taking them to Camp McCoy, WI for initial deployment training and then to Afganistan for a year. There was a good turnout of towns people along the route through main drag. I was impressed with the member of the Patriot Guard Riders and Rolling Thunder that led the busses for the guys. For members here that are PG Riders, Thanks for all you do! Please keep all the troops, from any where, that are in harms way in your thoughts and prayers. Dave
  3. This message was just posted by the Oklahoma Patriot Guard State Captain...... Effective 13 Aug 09, the PGR back patch is not authorized for wear at anytime in the State of Oklahoma. All other PGR paraphernalia may be displayed during PGR missions and PGR-related activities. Permanent/semi-permanent items, such as stickers & decals make be displayed anytime on any item or vehicle (i.e, helmets, motorcycles, cages, etc.). 4. My plan is to add 2 amber led's on the front guard and 2 red led's on the reat guard. My intent is to replace the reflectors that are there now. The question is - Can I safely connect the led's to the existing light relay that I installed for my passing/driving lights so that they will be energized with the ign. switch ?? btw - it's a 30 amp light relay and it's powered from the aux/cigarette lighter and it is fused.
  5. Hi, I am short one bodywork bracket for my red '84. I wondered if anyone here might have an extra they'd part with? The bracket I need is the one that holds the bodywork piece just near where the front left lower faring turns to join the picece that goes under the radiator. It anchors the plastic to one of the mounting bolts for the LHS engine case guard. Its a small right angle piece that has a threaded hole on the bodywork end and an open hole at the case guard end. I hope I am being clear. Anyone got one that for a few bucks they'd put it in the mail to me? Thanks, Brian H.
  6. My friend put a leather bottle holder / pocket on the saddle bag guards of his Harley. They stretch between the top of the front guard and the bottom. The right guard holds a water bottle, the left has a closing pocket for stuff. This puts stuff within reach while keeping his handlebars clear of junk. Anyone know a source for a RSTD-sized similar product?
  7. I was looking at JCWhitney and found these highway boards http://www.jcwhitney.com/Floorboards/GP_2002565_N_111+10211+600014704_10111.jcw?currentRecordCount=12 the live chat lady claims that the horizontal mount for the bracket is due to bracket design??? That seems like a bunch of compost. Anybody seen these, use these or have an opinion on? And yes they be pricey!! I am looking to mount something like this on the vertical support for the engine guard since that would allow for better angling and will provide the requisite offset to clear the fairing and still be able to plant your feet. ('course cheaper would be nice) Thanks.
  8. Can anyone help me with web sites etc. to purchase a wide leather tank guard WITH NO POCKET OR STUDS I will be using it to protect my tank while I pass my right leg over the tank, and any bits on it could cause me to snag the foot and fall -OUCH !! I have to get on the bike by moving my butt up on to the pillion seat and then swinging the gammy leg over the bike--its' a site to behold  Thank u in advance for any help ____________________________________________________________________ never ride faster than your guardian angel:2133:can fly
  9. I am looking to purchase a leather tank guard BUT I don't want studs or a pocket on it. I will be using it to protect my tank from my boot !! I have a gammy leg and have to pass it over the tank to get on and off (while sitting up on the pillion seat),so if there was anything on the guard I could "come-a-gutsa" off the bike NOT A GOOD LOOK:thumbdown: As cost to Australia is a consideration--cheap too!! If anyone can help with web sites or contacts I would appreciate it ____________________________________________________________________ never ride faster than your guardian angel:2133:can fly
  10. Hello all, I purchased a set of saddlebag guards and I was lining them up and noticed that there is a chrome plug where the guard's rear bolt would attach the guard to the chrome mount. Since I am less mechanically inclined then I care to admit, but without cash to have someone else do it, my question is do I have to take the chrome mounting off the bike to get the chrome plug out? Thanks, John.
  11. Today, I heard a bunch of bikes outside, and when I looked, there were motorcycle troopers leading 2 buses full of Ft. Campbell soldiers coming back home. They were followed by about 50 riders, and several cars, all displaying flags. It was pouring rain...hard...really hard. I am sure they were Patriot Guard members. I have thought about joining the Patriot Guard for some time now, and I know there are several members on here. Could one of you hook me up with a number and name of a chapter that is close to me in West Tennessee? I would REALLY appreciate it. Us Vets like to take care of each other. Thanks in advance. Patrick
  12. Am at a conference in Savannah GA and had the opportunity to get my picture taken on an OCC chopper made for the Army National Guard. Thought I would attach it here. It is pretty big. Almost too much stuff on it. Paint job is fantastic! Will attach more when I get home and can resize the ones off my camera
  13. I was at a funeral in chestertown on monday 3/23 and saw a 2nd. gen red venture there and was not able to catch up with the owner. If you are a member here, I would like to catch up sometime and ride. I have an 05 RSTD. It was nice of the patriot guard to ride for the gentleman who had passed away. Bill:337:
  14. Well I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later and it did. Was leaving for a quick trip to the store and noticed that my trunk was not closed, so being the bright person that I am I stopped in the driveway and instead of getting off the bike to close it, I decided to turn around and just close it without putting the stand down. Needless to say my left foot slipped just a little and by the time I could turn back around she was going down and was too far over for me to stop. The engine guard did its job and nothing was hurt except for pride, just so happens the nextdoor neighbor and his son were outside and saw the whole thing. Hopefully it wont happen again for awhile. MURPH
  15. Be carefull out there everybody. Although it was a bit cold today I decided to take the bike for a ride. Just after I got on the highway a trailer came lose from a truck in front of me. No big deal as I was cruising along and had plenty of time to react and move to the farthest lane. Heres where the fun began. After I moved over, a kid with his head in a cell pjone moved over on me. Says he never saw me. He put me on the shoulder of the road and almost hit the guard rail. luckily I had already slowed down or that would have been the case. The kid actually hit the guard rail. All of this was caused by the driver of the truck useing the wrong size ball on the truck hitch. 2 inch instead of 2 and 5/16. No one was hurt thankfully, but the kid and the driver of the truck got tickets. Failer to yield wright of way for the kid and failer to properly retrain a load for the truck. Please all,be carefull out there in a cage or on 2 wheels. I feel very lucky to be here now. I dont claim my prowless on the bike or the bike itself had anything to do with that. I just think my angels were looking out for daddy . Be safe and good riding. David
  16. This is a first for me. The wind blew the bike over today. I guess the cover acted like a sail. There are small dents on the underside of the crash bars, the passing lamp has a very small dent but no scratches, the rght side of the fairing has some scratches and the right engine guard looks like it's bent up about a half inch. The lower is just out of allign now but not a real problem. I guess I got out of it ok. Questions, is the fairing the same color all the way through so that I could just buff the minor scratches out without repainting ('07 RSMV) and how hard would it be to bend the engine guard back the half inch? THIS SUCKS!!!!!
  17. On 9/11 I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all First Responers. Where would the USA be without the Firemen, Police officers, EMT's, Medics, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, & National Guard. You are there when we need you. God Bless the USA.:usa:
  18. Hi I am looking for recommendations for adding highway peg (or other) for the Venture. I find the "cheap" one that the bike has are not adequate. I am 6' 1" tall, with about a 34" leg inseam. Any suggestions? I think they would end up a on the engine guard and being somewhat out front to fit the length. Thanks for your recommendations in advance.
  19. I need to order the small black plastic cover that goes on the left engine guard behind the horn. Can anyone recommend a good online vendor with decent turnaround time? thanks papa smurf
  20. ... my god. has anyone tackled this one. I don't even wanna go there without about 30 digital pictures along the way. hell, i could've just been a neurosurgeon or something. seriously, i would appreciate any tips or advise. the only other engine guard i've replace was on a silverado 1100 and i did it in the driveway without even letting the wife know i had a crash. this thing is INTEGRATED with hoses, wires, moldings, etc, etc, etc... unbelievable. I guess that'll teach me to lay it down huh!!!!
  21. Just curious if anyone in Eastern NC will be attending the Gathering Of The Guard in Danville, Va 29-31 August? Semper Fi, Jerry
  22. Not quite sure if posting this here is the right place. Mods feel free to re-locate this. 23. I am in need of a 2nd generation (1999 to 2008) engine guard for the right side that is NOT bent (like mine!) without having to pay the new price. Any one have one available? You can send me private email or post here. Thanks!
  24. so ... the engine guard size must be larger than 1" diameter. I ordered a set of Kuryakan highway pegs...with 1 inch mounts. Now what? can I use them any way, and just tighten them down as far as they go?
  25. I am in need of a right hand saddlebag guard rail for a 04 RSV. I will buy a set if someone has one they will part with. Thanks
