I told the kids there that the reindeer were on summer vacation.

On my way home from work today I came up behind a tan 1st gen cruising south on I-49. Ole guy with Quebec plates. He wore a white helmet and had a round reflector on the trunk (if this sounds familiar to anyone). Wanted to stop him and have a close look at it. He probably was wondering a why a white fully marked tahoe was following him at 65 mph.

Needed 1 used first gen carb slide. If any one has 1 old but usable carb slider for an 83 first gen Smaller bore than the 2nd gen. , can you PM me. skydoc_17 put me on to a problem i was having and sure enough he was dead on (as usual ). I had one slide come loose and was not opening all the way. superglue repair and carb sync and its a new beast. all the rest of mine are OK but the chipped up one , and I hate to run it (even though it runs great now) with it knowing its condition. let me know. thanks. Could someone measure there trunk on the 2nd gen and tell me the measurments of it. Need to know the width side to side and how deep it is along with the length. ONLY NEED OUTER SIZE. Thanks Joe. Star4772

Due to my wife losing her job in February I lost my 2007 RSV yesterday. It was heartbreaking watching it leave! I have a 96 4x4 Suzuki x90 5 speed and some cash if someone has a 99 or 2000 plus they don't ride any more. I am not interested in anything but a 2nd Gen RSV, just spoiled now. Any body running a car tire on a 1st gen. I have been kicking the idea around but as of yet havent been able to find anything in my tire size. Any help wopuld be appreciated. thanks in advance David

Correct me if I am wrong. ..But I believe you can put a 1300 1st gen rear drive unit on a 1200. So, IF YOU had a 1300 1st gen. and had a chance on buying low mileage 1200 rear w/shaft and swing arm complete at a really cheap price , that you personally inspected . Would you buy it for your aging 1300 to keep as a spare??? -
OK, not looking to start anything but need to ask. Will be putting my RSTD up for sale soon I hope and then plan to replace her with a 1st gen VR. However, if I am not able to find exactly what i am looking for I am also a bit tempted to take a close look at the Kawi Voyager XII. They don't really look as sexy as the 1st gen however am hearing plenty of good stuff concerning their performance, reliability and economy. Anyone had any experience with these bikes? Would welcome some input. Will probably looking more at the early 90's to say 2000 year models if that helps. HAve also toyed with a wing but it just seems like everyone has to have a wing and additionally they tend to be much higher priced looking apples to apples with the competition. Kinda what drew me to the VR in the first place. Thanks abunch for the input.

I have read a lot of the posts on this subject and have not seen a direct question or answer on this subject, so here goes. Most say that the 83 to 85 1st generation is the fastest of all the Ventures at 1200cc. So my question is this.What has to be changed to get the hp of the 83 to 85 models in a 2nd gen? I know the gearing is different, and a lot of people change to a v-max rear end. I'm talking about just hp and torque increases. I've heard about swapping to v-max cams,but would like to know what all would need to be changed,how much of an increase could be expected,and if it is worth the money involved to warrant it. I know that Pegscraper has done a lot with his early model Royal Star,and was wondering if any one with a 2nd gen had tried some of the same things. I would like to know what the differences are and how to get, at least close, to the 1st gen hp and performance and approximately how much it would cost with 100cc more to work with.

Hi everyone, I have a set of ELECTROPODS led lights and I would like to mount them under the tank. I would like to know if anyone else has used them and where on a second gen. can you mount them to light up the engine. I have the rectangular ones if that makes any difference. Thank you.

For those of you who ride ventures what is your age? Just curious to what is the age range who rides these bikes. I'm 40 yrs owned it for 4 yrs now a 1st gen. 83' royale. I love my scoot.

Does anyone know if the 1st Gen MkII headlight glass can be separated from the plastic housing. There are clips on the side of it but doesn't want to come apart. Headlight out light on computer moniter is on but the light is on. The light burned out indicator the white light is always on. The light will not switch to bright but the high bulb is ok.

My FJR is a 2nd Generation scoot.... The 2001-2005 is the 1st Gen... and... They revamped in 2006 I feel much better now:dancefool:Im in the 2nd Gen Group

Hey! It's been a while since I've been able to visit you guys. A while back someone had a thread going keeping us updated periodically on his project. He was putting 2nd gen gears into his 1st gen. Anybody remember who that was or could you point me to the thread? I'm not finding very quickly using the search method. I've been curious how his project was going. Thanks, Bill

I'm getting out of the used 1st gen parts business which has been slow and time consuming and am about to haul what is left of the XVZ1200 and XVZ1300 motors to the metal salvage yard for scrape value. If anyone is interested in engine parts or frame parts please speak up and PM me with what your looking for. Or any other parts I still have a wide range of all kinds of parts left.
