  2. I have found that my CDI or TDI is no good, any suggestions??
  3. Hey guys! I need to replace my carb intake manifolds because they are cracked. I believe i have found the part, but im stupid with part numbers and all of that, so is this correct? 4XY-13586-01-00 YAMAHA JOINT, CARBURETOR 1

  6. There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large, trouble-making biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig. "Well, whatcha' gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears. "Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can`t stand to see a man crying." "This is the worst day of my life," I say. "I'm a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man and then my dog bit me." "So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all, I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in and sit here watching the poison dissolve; then you show up and drink the whole bloody thing! But enough about me, how's your day going?
  7. I think that many of us will agree that there are a lot of TV shows that are pretty crappy. I used to enjoy shows like Storage Wars when it first came out, but it has become so scripted that I have about quit watching it. I just don't do well with reality type shows. One of the shows that I always skipped over, like Jersey Shore, was the The Big Bang Theory. A couple of months ago I sat down with my grandson, who was watching TBBT and found it to be surprisingly entertaining. Now, with all the reruns on, I have found it to be one that I will stop and watch when I am surfing the channels. Does anyone else watch this show? RandyA
  8. When I was riding my Suzuki Boulevard, I found a really great forum to be a part of. When we switched to the RSDT I was hoping for another great forum. It looks like I found it. I can read and read for hours and still not see all the great stuff here. Even though the Suzuki site was free I will have no problem paying a little bit for the great info here. Great job guys.
  9. Sorry if this is a duplicate post... There are still treasures to be found out there. $21,000 for a Yamaha
  10. I noticed coolant coming from the weep tube on the water pump after a short ride yesterday. I've searched the forums but have not found much on second gen water pumps. 1. Is there a new/rebuilt water pump available. 2. If not one, what parts should I order to complete the job. 3. Are there any special tools required or gotcha's I shold be aware of in taking on this task. I recently had to change my radio controller and found the best price for a new one at Babbits online. I am open to suggestions, recommendations and any other help anyone can provide.
  11. I am wondering if anybody who has a a Corbin also has a sheepskin cover? I have been looking but haven't found anything.
  12. Well anyone that has been around here for a spell knows that I have a hound from hell. Her name is Lily but should have been named Satan. I will not recant the thousands of dollars of things she has destroyed in the first 3 years of her young life. I actually believed that she suffered a brain injury before we purchased her but soon found out that she is actually of high intelligence as long as you have a treat in your hand..Not to mention her selective hearing and just plain stubborness... Well that is neither here nor there because she has made me fall in love with her. The scamp reminds me of ME in so many ways, but I don't want to get into that either and no I do not normally chew up the furniture...well, not that often anyway ......this bring me to my point of this story....My lovely bride Taters has been suggesting ALOT about getting her a playmate......no.. no.... not a playmate for Taters.... the dog silly.....NOOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY I say.........YEAH RIGHT...!! Well, I was surfing and found this site...... www.nybasset.org Dang site......WE had our interview yesterday and we are being notified shortly if we are going to be parents again.............. his name is FLASH and can be viewed on their site in the adoption pending section........WAIT, IS GETS BETTER...I have also filled out an application to become a volunteer for this organization and become involved in the RESCUE OF THESE LITTLE BUGGERS.....HOW do these thing happen to me.......?? Please take a look at the site and wish Taters and I luck in our quest to adopt this big beautiful boy ........this is a pic our our little troublemaker when she was a pup...HOW SWEET she looks......yeah, she fooled us.....lol
  13. I bought a 2011 Silverado about a year ago when there were some great rebates and discounts but being the cheapskate that I am I decided to NOT pay the extra for the leather interior. Not really a big mistake but I decided that I wanted a leather interior in it for christmas. After a lot of research I found that the leather interior from the factory is only partially leather. No matter, in searching I found that Katzkin (in California) made the best fitting and best overall quality replacement. They are not seat covers but replacement fabric for the seat. Hope I like it because it will be redone next thursday as well as heat in both seats.

  16. I just found this PDF on how to mod the flasher relay on the Gen2 to work with LEDs and not have fast flashing and have the cancel and 4 way working. I found the doc here http://www.650ccnd.com/PDFs/Flasher_mod_Revised.pdf
  17. I want to run this by here to see what you guys think. The driver's backrest on my 84 is shot. Cracked & dry. I want to replace it, but of course replacements are not found. I found this reasonable alternative. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Universal-11-x8-1-2-New-Contour-Backrest-Back-Rest-Sissy-bar-Pad-/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$(KGrHqYOKj!E5W9!lpC!BObp,IEjVw~~60_12.JPG It's got a wooden plate backing, removable vinyl cushion cover. 3" thickness on the sides and 1 1/2" thickness on the middle Size 11"x 8 1/2" for $32 shipped. I see the OEM one is 11 1/2" x 6 1/2" & the support is riveted in on the back(should be easy enough to get off) Does anyone see any potential issues that I am missing? It looks doable, & the price is cheaper that having the original recovered.
  18. I've seen them on here before but can't find any. Does anyone have a color wiring diagram for the RSV? specifically the lighting section. Had to do some work on the brake lights on mine and found that the PO royally screwed stuff up back there. I'd like to go back to square one and start over. thanks
  19. There was a bit of confusion at the store this morning. When I was ready to pay for my groceries the cashier looked me in the eye and said, "Strip down facing me." Making a mental note to complain to my congressman about Homeland Security running amok, I did just as she had instructed. When the hysterical shrieking and alarms finally subsided, I found out she was referring to my debit card. I have been asked to shop elsewhere in the future. They need to make their instructions to us a little clearer!
  20. I cleaned it up a little, did some searching, in doing so I found a spare key under one of the side covers, and speaking of side covers, found 4 broken tabs, on the fix list, added seafoam to the tank, runs like crap on heavy concentration of sea foam......let it soak and try it again tomorrow, will be changing the plugs, check the diaphrams and replace if neccessary. I took it for about a 6 mile ride, it will take some getting used to. Going to replace the fuse box, pulled out 1 fuse and one of the spades that holds it in broke.........on the fix list too. Here are some pics just after the wash, still need to polish and clean up some of the alum and chrome. And the lovely couple who delivered the bike decked out in their St. Jude shirts..............
  21. My PC was fine and dandy on Thursday PM. I go on Friday AM and my desktop only had the wallpaper and one icon, the recycle bin. START, PROGRAMS,,,, none found. Windows Explorer,, no user files, programs unuseable. Cutting to the chase, the files are there but Icons and program listings are gone. Files (pictures, documents and such) are found, but not in folders. I do have a newer AV program in use, WebRoot (Essentials, a cloud AV product. been ok for months). So, my son, who is more current on PC installs, is working on restore. Said it's pretty nasty. There are several IT pro's here. Do you know what virus took me down? I have googled for info, found some info, but no one says what the virus is. Anyone know this one,,, and how to avoid it. Thanks, Mike G.
  22. I have had my 84 for just over a year now, and it's always had a slight sound that I've found annoying. I only noticed it at idle, but then I probably wouldn't notice it at an RPM or a speed much above that. I would guess it's what other members have been calling the Jetson car sound...sure seemed like that to me. Well I've finally traced mine down to the YICS system. I guess that after exhausting other possibilities, it just became necessary to check. I tried spraying the system, but never noticed any change in sound or rpm. So I pulled off the YICS chamber(s) and plugged all of the ports/hoses on the engine...and the sound has gone away! I submerged the YICS chamber(s) and found a tiny, tiny leak at the seam on one of the chambers. It still seemed to hold vacuum pretty well, but under pressure there was 1 bubble escaping every couple of seconds. Just thought I'd share what I'd found, since it seems a pretty common malady. The Jetson car sound is gone...but now I can hear the clutch!
  23. I heard about this forum from the gentleman i purchased my bike from a year ago. it has been such a good bike I've had no issues so I spent my time riding instead of logging on. I do have an issue that came up today. I have a fully charged batter, fuses all check out, ground appear to be in place but I have NOTHING when i turn the key. it ran fine yesterday. help anyone!! Update: after taking off a bunch of plastic and removing the radio, i found a broken switch. not sure what it is, want to order a new one. it is a switch that attaches to the main buss fuse and is mounted inside the radio compartment. it has a knob that you push/pull to make something work. after i put the switch pieces back together, i now have power. it doesn't look like the kill switch (1NL-82501-00-00) that the yamaha dealer suggested. any guesses out there. help!!!! thanks for your time and input. final solution: I figured out the switch mystery. A previous owner put in an anti-theft switch. I found a perfect match at O'Reilly auto parts. A 75-amp push/pull switch. I'm going to get a new one and replace the one I reassembled previously. Thank you to all who gave me possible solutions.
  24. Robin and I are seriously thinking about retiring in the south and are looking into 55 plus manufactured home communities. We have found a bunch in FLA. But very little to no info in any other states. We are looking in NC, SC, GA, and FL. Does anyone here live in, or know of such communities. Looking for any and all info and opinions.
