Any one out there know if a set of Driver Floorboards from a '84 will fit a '89? I have been looking for a complete set and saw some on Ebay for an '84 but I don't know if they will fit on my '89. Any ideas......

A while ago, I mentioned that I had a contact that could make fork sleeves. You know, those protective covers that fit over the shock plungers to protect them from stones, bugs, etc and keep the crude from tearing up the fork seals. Well, he never came through for me. So, the other day as said, "What the heck. It can't be that difficult." So, after a bit of trial and error, here is what I came up with. They are made from Naugahyde with foam backing and four snaps. They fit around the fork plunger and a loose enough to allow the plunger to slide through . Total cost, for parts and material (labor don't count) was only $4.50 per set.

I purchased a Yamaha (J&M) headset recently. I installed the headset in my HJC AC2M..., well I tried. When I put the speakers which barely fit into the speaker pockets they are so thick they dig into my ears and drive me crazy (crazier). I think I need to go to a 3/4 helmet in order to accomodate the speakers, but I don't want to spend that kind of money unless I know the speakers and mike will fit properly. Any suggestions on which helmet will work?

For all you Piggy Backers out there, I have a question. What brand/model ice chest did you find that would fit fairly close in the cooler rack on the standard?

I just bought an 84 Venture. It did not come with a radio. I would like to find a radio and speakers that will fit in the faring. I'm ok with aftermarket, just has to be weather resistant. Any one know of any place that might have bike radio's that will fit inside the faring?

Hi, Today was bright and beautiful. My Roadhouse slipons were suppose to arrive Tuesday, but just as I finished washing the 06, UPS dropped them off right by my bike. One day early. Goody goody! They came in two inner boxes in an outer box; wrapped in paper; wrapped in bubble wrap; and tightly sealed. Fantastic chrome! Took me about a half hour to pull the bags, the pipes, and install the new ones. Turned the key, and Wowsy! Deep, throaty, and not a hint of a tinny sound. Just what I was hoping for. Great fit, and a lot lighter than stock. Rode about 125 miles today, and they sang so nice I did not hear the proverbial chirp. I think this pipe will be popular among the owners on this good site. How many different ways can you think of to better your fuel milage? How many of us have tried those "As Seen On TV" solutions? Have any of them REALLY worked for you? What one will fit on our bikes? Etc. Etc. Etc.

I have noticed that most vendors who sell Bub Sleepers list them as fitting the later model RSV'S, but does the same slip on fit the RSTD? Does the Samson application for RSV's fit the RSTD. I have an o6. Thanks, Jim

Well ---I sent them back. Not the fault of the seat--They just didnt fit me, They were uncomfortable on my legs. The back rest set me up too straight. Im sure thats the way they were suppose to set but it was very uncomfortable for me. ANNNNND The most important reason GGMa said "NO-I dont like them". Im sure they would have felt better as time went by-- but too expensive to take the chance. Again the seats looked great but was just not for me. Not sure what im going to do GGMa likes her stock seat and Mustang does not make a rider seat that fits the stock passenger seat. Im told that Corbin is a HARD seat and thats what I dont want. Woe-Woe-Woe is me ---better that I could find a soft seat to fit my old rear=====Buzz

I've noticed in several different catalogs, and various websites, leather bags that fit on the saddle bag guard rails of Harley's touring models. See this page for examples from Whitehorse Gear. My question is, does anyone have a set of these installed on the RSV, or know of any made specifically for it? I can't really see why they wouldn't fit, but I'd hate to invest in some only to find out the dimensions are off. Thanks in advance!

How in the name of all that is holy do I get an air hose onto the front tire valve ? My compressor has the long stem which cannot fit -- I'm buying a air gauge with a 45 degree head -- I'm betting one of the companies sells an adapter for the hose too ? Thnx, DREBBIN

Buying myself a Christmas gift. Looking at a Cortech Fusion textile jacket and wondering what your opinions will be? I ride mostly back and forth to work in temps from 50 - 80 degrees normal temps in low 70's. Want a jacket thats light and water resistant with some protection. this looks like it will fit the bill. Also I'm 5'11" and carry 260lbs. Will an XXL fit? Thanks

My black cherry 2006 Venture needed very little to make it complete. I did want cup holders, fore and aft, and a rider backrest, so I contacted Diamond R for both. The backrest went on without a hitch, as per directions. No drill and a perfect fit. The rest adds a lot of comfort to my ride. The cup holders also were made to fit my bike and look great. I have gotten a fair number of compliments on these holders, along with some, "Where'ja get them?" I am happy with Diamond R's products and service and do not hesitate to recommend them to all. The only thing that I would like to see on the Venture is a reverse gear, ala the "Wing". With the weight of the Venture, I really do have to be careful where I park, so that I do not have to back the heavy beast up any sort of grade to get out. Otherwise, I really do enjoy this bike. I have owned many bikes since 1959, to include seven Harleys. If I need to buy another bike, it will be a Venture.

Saturday, I rode up to Anamosa, Iowa with a friend (mostly in a hard down pour for more than an hour) to see the motorcycle museum and go to J & P Cycles. I looked for a tank bag for my 89 Venture but it seems they are hard to fit. What tank bag favorites do others use for their 1st gen? I'm looking for a small to medium size bag. Tim
