  1. Anyone have a stock (black) ignition cover that they don't need anymore? I have a chrome one and don't like it. Shows every little scratch or mark much more than a black one would. If you have one and would like to part with it pls let me know. I can get one very reasonably from Pinwall.....except for the high shipping fees. I've even thought of painting my chrome one, but like the "textured" look of the stock one better.
  2. My clear plastic fairing protectors were ruined by the dealer with liquid wax that stained little white dots. Is it possible to Tint the whole piece smoke or black to get some use out of them or should I just trash them?
  3. #1 is a M2R MR650 full face helmet, size XL. I took off the wings glued to the top, painted it flat black, and added a new flip up shield. $55.00 shipped. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/IMG_5246.jpg #2 is a Vcan 608 modular, size XL, in flat black. The helmet's shield has a scratch on the left side, but it's out of your line of vision. $55.00 shipped. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/IMG_5244.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/IMG_5245.jpg Shipping included.
  4. I have notice that my right muffler has a carbon buildup (black sut)at the end of the muffler, any ideas of what is going on? The left is clean.
  5. I saw a 1st Generation and three 2nd One mid night, another blue & black and a two tone silver, sitting on Deval street :Venture::Venture::Venture::Venture::Venture:
  6. Well we finally got around to shooting the Black Beast, not in the put it out of its misery shoot but it now has a fresh new paint job. Spent the last three nights with my buddy from work painting it and it came out great. He did an awesome job painting it. Below are the pics of the process. Hopefully will have it reassembled in a few days...........The color is Ford Black with Pewter Trim. Had to go back with Black, after about 20 different choices, decided Black is beautiful..............:dancefool:
  7. Ok, time for me to get my goldwing. Now what color, not Titanium, Orange, Black, Silver.
  8. Don, As much as I like your avitar Eagle, Just couldn't bring myself to use it. Just seems to belong with you. Found this one, and with it being white--which goes with my black and white bobber, I used this one. Seems to kind of finish it off---least till I change it again. Steve
  9. Another meeting with vendor tomorrow.... he is working with me because of no minimum order up front ...new logo requires 3 screens and maybe a forth for the black tees...........have prices on tee's...long sleeve, sweat shirts and the fleece jackets... working on black fleece jackets for the men...shipping is a lot more than expected..will average size cost out evenly...one price for any size with or without pocket and add average shipping in lower 48...I have the womans fleece sample here and am hoping for samples of tee's tomorrow....again be patient, I really am working on these......:fnd_(16):PS..Pics of womans fleece in later post scroll down please...
  10. Brand new trunk on Ebay.................... Yamaha Travel Trunk in Black XVZ12TK Venture NEW 1983
  11. Terry and I made it home from the rally today. We left the rally and headed for the Colorado Rockies but a bad cross wind in Oklahoma blew us to the black hills instead. We rode around the Black hills a bit and got in to Winnipeg today. Just came from visiting the grandson. Newborns can grow a lot in 2 1/2 weeks. I very much want to thank all who made the international rally such a successful event. We had a great time. Take care, Tom:canada:
  12. Doreen and I met up with bj66 (Bernie) & randyg on Saturday in Sioux Falls. Had some good conversation and mutual admiration of bikes. Great meeting you both. Hoep to get together again sometime. I did not know when I set this date that a National softball tourny would be going on the same weekend. Hotels all booked. Doreen and I stayed the night in a room we were able to find. (Must have been that last one in town.) Lots of bikes going through enroute to Sturgis. We met a couple from Ontario. Nice folks. I did not catch their names. Her bike is a 650 Vstar (I think) and painted so that the color changes from blue to green depending on the angle of the light. His Venture was black with flames. The fender had the figure of Death within the flames and he was pointing out to the viewer. He said he come on here once in while. They had just spen a week in the Black Hills and were headed home. Hope all those on the roads ride safe and arrive home intact. Dave
  13. Today on my way home from work, I seen what I believed to be about a 2006 Venture (black cherry and raven) heading east on US-10 in Midland, Mi. I gave the riders a thumbs up and proceded to pass them in my black 2000 Mercury Sable. They then followed me into Freeland, Mi. by way of M-47. I turned off on McCarty road and they continued toward State St. in Saginaw. Was it anyone here? It was a nice looking Venture! Big Mike
  14. We're leaving in the morning for our Eastern TN, Western VA loop. See http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.c...r/share/236707 We plan to overnight in Abingdon, VA Friday night and Kingsport TN Saturday night. Does anyone have recommendation for a good (non-chain) restaurant in those areas? Or anywhere else along the way? Any sites that we need to make sure we see? If you see a blue RSV, a Goldwing, a black HD Ultra, a black Vulcan, and a black V45 Magna driving by wave us down. Thanks, Dennis
  15. Just wondering if anyone else would like to meet up Saturday for an informal M&G (as opposed to the formal black tie event) at this years BikeFest in Seaside Oregon. July 17th & 18th.

  17. I have a black sooty build up on my left front cooling fin on the engine.(while sitting on bike.) It is on the upper part of the fins........well I guess the best way to describe it is a picture. Has anyone seen this before, and if so does anyone know what it is? Thanks for any help, Big Mike
  18. Twisted my ankle, won't tell how but a few peole know how. Anyway I'm using a cane for now and hoping things will be better tomorow. It does not look black and blue, but is swelled a small amount. Think I'm going to bed now...
  19. Yup this is my scoot , Black 700kms and 3 recalls
  20. If I asked this before on here, I guess I'm losing more than my hearing. I know I wanted to ask before. I did at least search my prior posts and found no entry for this so, here we go: I have a black Pace-Legacy lo-boy style enclosed motorcycle trailer. It's only about 3 years old but sitting outside down here in the sun & heat, the finish has developed that slightly cloudy, faded sort of look. That loss of a clean, deep black finish. It's not at all severe, but it is noticable. I've tried any number of different things to try to bring the depth of color back and failed. I'm almost positive that it's baked enamel and I'm frankly at a loss as to what to use. So, if any of you have any experience with this issue, I sure would like to hear your solution. I coming up blank. I've hesitated on removing the Harley-Davidson decal on the back door until I can come with a satisfactory fix for the finish, because I know there's going to be a difference in shade when the decal comes off and I want to be able to minimize it. Anyway, any help will be welcome. If I can't do anything with the finish (or maybe even if I can), I might just sell the darn thing. I haven't used it but a couple of times and the original reason I got it went away when my son got rid of his bike. That'll be a topic for another thread if I go that way with it.
  21. listed in the Classifieds.. its black.. Studded and in great shape. $350.00 includes shipping. Thank you
  22. I broke the mounting tab under the gas cap door off so I need a new one. I would really like to find a black one so I don't have to paint it. If you have one let me know. Thanks.
  23. Well I guess you are back home now, It was an honor and a privledge to meet you and share your wonderful Black Death..........I know how it got that name now, I experienced it......... Hope your visit was a memorable one, and I certianly hope to meet up with you again and ride with you. I would love to visit your country and ride it as you have ventured to the US and ridden here, you only saw the tip of the iceberg, next time you will have to come to Georgia and Todd, myself, Blackjack, just to name a few will take you on some the best riding roads in the US. Tail of the Dragon would just be for starters.........but no Black Death before that ride......for sure or you might end up wearing that label permanently. Thanks for coming to MD, it was special for all of us............
  24. Hello everyone: New member from Maryland who just purchased a 2006 RSTD today for the wonderful price of 5300 dollars. I am new to this kind of bike. Are there any concerns with the RSTD I should be aware of. Look forward to getting to know everyone and participating as much as possible. Will post pics over the next couple of days. The bike is black and my first concern is good cleaning and waxing products. If anyone knows what works best on black, let me know. Thanks Walt
  25. Just finished a small project to add 5-light amber LED pods to the front fork reflectors as side marker lights. My biggest concern was to hide the wires running up along the brake lines. For $11, I think I solved it: I started with two Radiantz Top FX LED pods (amber, with black housing). For $8.99 each, with a 3' shrink-wrapped wire pigtail they were perfect. So not to crack the reflector, I drilled progressively larger holes until I ended up with one just big enough to feed the wires through (photo 1). The LED pods come with 3M mounting tape that I stuck right to the reflector. Bought some 5/8" black vinyl tubing from Home Depot for $11- the down side was that it is only sold in a 20ft roll (photo 2). This is the stuff commonly used in ponds and fountains, so you might have some luck finding it somewhere where you can buy the 2.5ft that you need. Oh well, so I have extra now. Cut two pieces of tubing, each the length of each brake line, then slit it down the back with an exacto knife. This allowed me to slide it over the brake line and my newly run wiring (photo 3). Once I had the tubing over the entire length of the brake line -- it was a little tight getting it through the guide brackets, but it fit -- I used a small black zip-tie at the top and bottom on each side to hold it snug (photo 4). This left me with a clean looking finished product (photo 5). I took the wires up under the fairing and soldered the hot (yellow) wires into the positive terminal at the back of the conector plug for the accessory outlet. I then soldered the ground (black) wires into the ground terminal at the same plug (photo 6). Now the LEDs come on in the "Accessory" key position. The finished product throws a decent amount of light and looks unobtrusive -- at least to me (photo 7).
