The seat on my MK1 is faded. Does anyone know what can be used to restore it to it's original black? Something that won't rub off on clothing.

Now that I am back in VA, it sure is depressing looking outside and my Midnite RSV ain't sitting there. I sure do miss that bike! I only had her for 7 months but man we had some good times! I got cool stuff sat. and today ! Sat. i got the new V4 m/c covers from Renne , could not turn off the flash on camera so the pic's are not that good but the covers look great ! today i also got the Hooti Bootis from Black Owl pic is a lot better , Black Owl , your rite ! just what it needed ! also got my new VR bell today ! today was just like Xmas !

We are just about out the door. Going to Port Washington Wis. to pick up our new Rolla-Home camper. Stopping tonight in Mpl. Going to hook up with a old bird for breaky and then off to Wis. Sunday. Moving into Red1's place for a couple of years then finding someone else to scrounge from. Grandpagak is next then home for some riding as the weather should have melted the rest of the snow. Black Envoy towing black little camper should be quit a sight!

I'm looking for a good half helmet to go with my '09 RSV which is what they call Seashell/Raven color. I've already got a black helmet so I really don't want another of that color. Has anyone on here seen anything that might be of interest to me??? I saw an AFX FX-7 that was black and gold. It looked pretty good but don't know about the AFX brand. Need input.

I rode the new to me (used) RSV today and discovered the grips that the guy I bought the bike from are loose. I was riding along and the throttle grip started to turn on the plastic under piece throttle. I thought about using black Permatex silicone to glue on, but not sure that's the best answer. Does anyone else have suggestions?

First of all I would like to say thank you to everyone who helped last time. I now have brakes all the way around and i found a broken wire on the kickstand switch. I have now came across more problems. First of all does anyone have a CHEAP set of front rotors? Mine are both bent. I have a 1988 venture. Second problem as i put this bike back together after getting it in pieces. I have found 3 wiring plugs that I cant find a home for. The first is right behind the headlight it is a flat 3 wire plug that has a white end on it. The 3 wires are red and blue, red and either yellow or light brown and then black. The second plug is green in color two plugs one sits sideways on top of the other. The wires are light brown and black. The third plug is sticking out where the harness turns down from top to go to kickstand. About front of seat. It is a 2 plug black on end and has protective cover over the two wires. One wire is red the other is black. I know they have wiring diagrams on this sire however they show everything. The radio, CB, and everything else. My bike only has cruse nothing else. Since i didn't take it radio apart i don't know if there was even anything there. If anyone could help I would really be grateful. I dont know if it is part of it but on my dash the battery light is showing. I am guessing it is not charging.

Just doing some tinkering on my 83 XV. I started it up because I was gonna maybe tinker with my new carb synch gauges. After a couple minutes of warm up time I notice a wisp of smoke coming up thru the frame. Shut it down to have a look see, and what I found was a connector from the rectifier doing a meltdown. Real hot. Three white wires from one side and three black ones going towards the stator? Anyone have any ideas? Didn't seem to effect how it runs but definitely something is wrong. Me not so happy. -

I've kept a closed eye on ebay for about a year now watching what the used RSV's are going for. It seems I rarly see a 2008 Black Cherry/Raven come across the block. This is my favorite colors with the Midnight a close 2nd. My best guess is it's such a good color compo the owner are hanging on to them.

Hello, I appreciate any help in this matter. I am working on a 1985 XVZ12D Venture Royale with a no-spark condition on the front left cylinder. So far I have tested ignition coils, primary and secondary, spark plug cap ends, swapped the front left coil primary leads with the left rear cylinder coil primary leads and it did spark with this change. I have performed a very thorough continuity test on all of the leads from the TCI module to all four of the ignition coils and all of the leads from TCI to the pick-up coils. I did not find any open circuits or bad connections on any of them. I have checked ground and power circuits to TCI and they are good. I performed an ohms value test on the four pick up coils and found similar results as another user at this forum had found. One of the values was in range and three of them seem to be twice the value. The book procedure states testing all four leads individually, (black, gray, white/red and white/green), combined with the orange lead. I read a value of 115 ohm on the black lead and 220 + ohm on the other three. The front left cylinder lead is the gray. I have since removed the pick-up coil assembly from the engine, cleaned and inspected for any bad insulator or signs of trouble and have found nothing. They look as if they may have been replaced in the recent past. While inspecting them I noticed the common lead to both sets of pick-up coils is the black lead. I decided to perform the same ohm test as stated in the manual, but use the black lead as the common instead of the orange lead. After performing this test I found that all four ohm values are in within usable range and not doubled on three of them as when I use the orange lead as the common. Is the manual wrong on the color? Should I be using the black for this test? The orange lead seems to go to only one of the pick-up coils and not shared with any other! I could sure use some help here, I don’t want to condemn this part inadvertently. If I am correct on what I have found on the test it seems as if the TCI or CDI module may be at fault. Any thoughts? I sure appreciate any help on this. Our local Yamaha dealer is no help. I have just received great help from a member here that found that the manual info may be wrong on the test procedure... He found a schematic PDF file that is in the Tech area that has the "black" lead as the common. Very critical information if you are testing the pick-up coils on a first generation. Be sure the black lead is Y'd into both pick-up coils to ensure this is the common before performing a ohms test! -
HI THERE I was wondering if anybody could help me locate the black rubber moulds that go on the top and bottom of the chrome strip at the base of the windscreen on an 86 venture. I have tried all the local dealers here in Adelaide and am told they are no longer available. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. :fiddle: KEEP THE BLACK BITS DOWN

On Stars web site they show it with Black with flames, and dark gray is there a dark gray. or I may look at 09 dealer said it could get a 09 was not shure if it was tan & black or red and black. Would like the Red and Black,

When I bought my first 86 Ursula Gold on Black, I found a temp strip to stick to the bottom of my left mirror. Anyone know where to find those? Or is there something else? Actual road temp is impossible due to wind chill, but wind chill DOES give some warning before one runs into Colorado black ice. Now, don't let that discourage you from coming to CO. Today it was in the mid 50's and I putt in 55 miles in the foot hills of the CO eastern front. Thanks for the info from anyone. JackZ

Planning to paint my 84 this winter and am considering a silver and black combination. Anyone with this combination or other non factory 2 tones willing or able to post pictures? I have a friend who's son is apprenticing in auto body and is looking for projects plus I painted mine a few years ago and it was a quick and dirty job. I have seen some of his work and he is getting pretty good at painting. I will have to do some tab and crack repair also. Here's a before and after of my current paint job, the gold is a Nissan colour. -
SC side of Augusta I spotted a Black RSV riding with a Valkyrie. Is he/you one of ours. I gave him the thumbs up as I went by in Hyundai. Don't think I recognized him though.

As if I did not have enough of other things to do ......like work , I went out and bought myself another Black Cherry . Not 2 wheels , but a set of six strings . 30 years ago , I was self teaching myself , but never fulfilled the task of playing successfully . My first set of strings was an original left handed Les Paul made in the early 50's . It was a rare one at that being an F hole hollow cut away with a single pickup . It was worth a pretty penny to say the least . But it's gone now and and to start fresh again , I picked up an Ibanez Artcore AS73L in Black Cherry ! So I am giving you fair warning , I sound like a sputtering 1st gen running on an 1/2 cylinder , . For the last 2 late evenings , I have been getting my finger tips all tendered up . I must be doing OK so far as the dog hasn't started howling yet and the wife hasn't tossed me or the guitar outside . I know we have some musicians here and perhaps when I do get good enough , we should have a jam session at one of the M & E or Rallies . BEER30

I saw a Black Venture "2nd gen" heading east on hi-way # 92 out of Oskaloosa, Iowa November 1st at 1:40pm. Anyone from here? I was in the cage, been pheasant hunting.:bawling:The long guns stick off the trunk of the RSV to far and look funny. Plus the little woman says I can't turn her saddle bag into a game bag. Bryan

Took a while but got her done. Painted bike black has blue pearl flake and silver looks great in the sun. Put on alot of billet chrome. Black was original whine color. Got her out yesterday, had some nice weather here in Mississauga ontario at last. Screaming Red:Venture:

Here are some Pics of the wind deflectors I purchased from BuddyRich on my 05RSV. They really make a difference, made a couple of rides this last weekend early in the morning (51). Like the look, they look stock. Might be hard to see with the Black on Black. Great Job Buddy. Also one of the pics shows the Venture decal I got from Freebird on my tank bib. Fits right in.
