Howdy All; I'm trying to come up with a selling price for my 2006 Midnight Venture. It's basically stock with passing lights and LED brake, tail and turn signal lights added and it has 40,000 miles. A local dealer wanted to give us on $6200. Any ideas what our bike might actually sell for? Thanks!

OK...I printed off Freebird's excellent instructions for splitting the fairing...and then as I was reading over them, I noticed these were published in 2006. I have a 2009 Venture WITH THE LIGHT BAR BRACKET, so I know I won't have to remove my lights...but are there ANY other changes on splitting the fairing from the 2006 models up to the 2009 models? Any MORE tips or things to look out for. I am splitting my fairing so I can install (actually replace), the wiring harness for my Garmin 665 GPS. Anything, TIPS, TOOLS, or WARNINGS would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Wally

Greetings All, I am looking for suggestions on increasing the tail lighting on my 2006 RSTD. Where I live there is limited light on the roads and I would like increase my safety percentage. I once located a lightbar that converted the turn signals to stay on all the time as red while flashing as the normal orange. If I recall, when the brakes were applied the main tail light did a "LED dance" (that's a technical term). Any ideas where I can locate such a contraption? Thanks in advance! Nick P

I've replaced the 07 RSV I wrecked a month ago. ABS was a must this time around since wrecking in the rain which meant another RSV was out of the question. Maybe in the future Yammie will finally update the Venture and I will be back on one but for now this bike will have to do. It's a 2006. I do still have my '97 RSTC so I'm not completely out of Royal Stars. Here is a pic I stole from the previous owner.-Jack http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b152/bigjack1/wing/wing.jpg

Hi all ... I just brought a 2006 RSTD new from the dealer and I pick it up this week. My question is... does it come new with the adjustable exhaust tips or is it extra? The bike did not have them on but most pics i see online have them. thanks in advance

Does anyone know where I could possibly lay my hands on a 2008 LEFT engine guard? Used preferably (cheaper) and where in Canada (or shipped to Canada) can I find a rear rotor for a 2006 Midnight? The extremely few places I've found won't ship to Canada.. Seems the steel might violate some kind of HLS or something.. Cheers

Looking for an owner manual for my 2006 RSTD. Also would like a Clymers, but they seem to only go up to 2003. Anybody have one available . . . or can point me to a source. Thanks.

I'm not sure so I've come to the experts here. I have a 2006 RSTD but am wondering if these pipes off a 2006 venture will fit. I presently have BUB exhaust on the bike so am hoping the venture pipes will slip on. Here's the ad: Exhaust came off a 2006 Yamaha Royal Star Midnight Venture with 500 miles for a trike conversion. Like new condition thanks Greg

Hi there our bike will not stay running. have replaced the battery and it only runs for the amount of the charge and then dies. I have taken it apart examined the connections and everything looks good. Has anyone had to replace a stator. Also has anyone been able to get their hands on a repair manual for a 2006. Thanks in advance

Somehow I missed this one completely. The jist of the story is that eight Bandidos were murdered in Canada in 2006. The trial was in April of this year. Yall be careful up there. http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Crime/2009/03/31/8951096-sun.html

Are K&N filters really worth the $100 cost? Do you gain any performance or gas mileage?. I know they are lifetime filters. I haven't priced the stock ones yet. I am running a Dyna 3000 ingnition module and Kromeworks Mufflers. My (2006) bike really runs good with this setup. I have almost 12,000 miles on it.

Kevin (AKRefugee) came by the house today and we did carb sync using my old carb sticks. Neither one was too far off but our bikes are smoother now. Nice to see a MM and 2006 next to each other. I had a good day. Thanks Kevin ride safe Rod

I finally gave in to temptation and bought a 2006 Royal Star Tour Deluxe/14000 miles. I was wondering if anybody had any advise or items of interests about this bike I should know about. I thought I got a good deal having paid $8000 for this classy machine.

Can anyone give me just a short run down on what to expect for maintenance on a RSV? For example, we are looking for a RSV, and found a 2002 for $6,000.00 with 27K miles on it. Then we found a 2005 with 40K miles on it for $7,000.00 We are also looking for 2006 and newer, but we may consider something with Little more miles and a year or two older then a 2006, to offset the price of $10K for a 2006 What I don;t want to happen is, I buy a 2002 or a 2005 with 30k-40K, and find out I need to spend several thousand on the bike for routine maintenance because of the miles. Then we would be better off just bitting the bullet now, and spending $10K on a newer bike, and enjoy it and ride it. Thanks for your help, as we are eager to buy a RSV after owning several other cruiser and touring bikes.

So for the last 3 years I have been wanting a 2nd bike. I LUV my RSV - I have been waiting and waiting for Yamaha to rev the damn thing and they haven't - BUT that is ok. I got mine pretty much the way I like it - she runs good, she gets double-takes, all the comforts of home. But I wanted something to have "fun" with. Something to make loud and tool-around on. So I have been looking at RSTD's, the Roadliners, and in my wild dreams - maybe someday a Stratoliner. Well after I looked over that 2006 RSTD that had 300 miles on it - was completely disappointed. In this thread I got some good advice from RSTDog, and he was right on the , the gas tank was all rusty, the chrome was pitted and rusty, and it did not run. Damn shame, that bike was practically new - it needed some TLC, but that is NOT what I was looking for. I know some of you guys are good with the grease and a wrench - my life deals with people and 1's & 0's, so tinkering was not part of my game plan for a second bike. So I got a call from a guy who has a bike listed on this forum - he said that if I did not like the RSTD I was going to look at today that he had a 2006 Stratoliner that he would make me a good deal on. So this got me thunkin and thinkin. I spent the entire day yesterday from about 2PM until 2AM, looking and researching the Strato's. I decided that his bike was nice, but I want to keep silver in the family - my fav color, and I wanted an "S" model. So I found 3 of them through various places like ebay, CycleTrader, Craig's List, and private sellers. Right color, decent prices, etc, etc. Spoke with the people selling them and got a feel for who they were and are and what they REALLY wanted. After all the research, I pulled the trigger and made an offer on one of them this morning. It's all good, should be here in about 2 weeks I am guessing. http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/i/001/3a/d5/aa82_3.JPG 2006 Stratoliner S, 1,600 miles, excellent condition, one-owner. I am excited like a little kid on X-Mas!

I am interested in putting fish tails on my 2006 RSTD. Anyone know if there is anyplace that a guy can get just the tips for my stock mufflers or if the mufflers from a a place like J.C. Whitney with the fish tail ends will fit. After doing some measuring I wonder if those who be to short? Any help will be greatly appreciated. neskypilot

Rode to work this morning. When I left work saw lots of bikes, including a 2006 Black Cherry RSV at UPS in Louisville and a Midnight RSV across the river in Jeffersonville, IN.

I went to the Clymer.com website for a repair manual. All I could find was a manual for the 1999 to 2003 Venture. I have a 2006 Venture. I have heard that nothing has really changed on the Venture. Will this manual be all right for my 2006? Thanks. Dennis
