Hi All, New member here. I currently ride a 84 GL 1200 and have done alot of work on it to bring it up to a reliable machine so I know all of the weak points to the Goldwing of those years. Can anyone tell me what the weak areas of the 86 or 87Venture 1300 model? The Goldwing is a great ride,how does the Venture measure up ?

Does anyone know if a 2007 1300 Venture engine will mount in my 2000 Royal Star Tour Deluxe. My local parts guy says the crankcase part # is different, but thought it would. I would like to know for sure though. Thanks for any help. -
I have an 84 that I was going to fix and ride but after playing with it and taking inventory of the problems that need fixing,mainly the motor smokes like crazy but still runs fairly well I think I am going to part it out. Take a look at my ad if there is anything anyone wants. I was thinking about dropping a 1300 in the frame but dont seem to be alot around here and way to much money on ebay for something I know nothing about.Maybe later I will buy a 1300 that I can actually ride with fewer problems.Also have new set of Diaphrams I just got from Sirius and a heavy duty fork brace. -
Does anybody know if the body parts for all 1st Gen. years are interchangeable? Specifically the fairing and side cover pieces. I have an '86 1300 and was wondering if pieces from an 83-85 1200 will fit it? Thanks.

I know we have a lot of smart cookies here, and I need a question answered. I am currently working on an '86 for one of our members and need to know is there any difference between the 1200 and the 1300 cc bikes carburetors? I need the #2 carb as I can't get the Air/Fuel mixture screw out as hard as I have tried. So my question is can the 1200's carb be used on the 1300 engine -

At the New York International Motorcycle Show Honda released the Honda Fury, which was teased with last month... Basically, it is production chopper based off the 1300 VTX BUT it's 1312cc V-Twin is fuel injected...which is kinda odd to me being their actuall 1300 VTX is carburated... Too me, it is a littel late in the game and doesn't have near the style of a Yamaha Raider...but that is just me... Although, I do like that matte black... click here for more info

Thinking of trading in my midnight venture on a 1300 tourer. Its an 02 with 21,000 mile. Longest ride i do is 200-400 miles maybe 2 or 3 times a year, but think i will miss the comfort of the venture. Thanks for any opinions

Does anyone know of a website that shows substitute oil filters for a 2007 V star 1300. The yamaha part is 5DM-13440-00-00. I checked the Oil Filter cross reference on this site but didnt see any. ??? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks JR

Does anyone know if there is a place where I a list of parts compatability between different VR year models? I am looking for a windscreen for a 83vr 1200 and am wondering if one off a 86VR 1300 would work. I also need a battery. Does anyone know where I could get a descent one for a descent price? Quick question: would a set of spark plug wires custom made for the 1200 VR engine fit the 1300 engine? I have decided to let my 1 gen, go. I don't ride long distances as much these days and so I picked up a couple of sport touring bikes. There is a lot of work into this bike to make it nice and trouble free. Some of the parts on the bike I picked up from Condor here on the boards. I'm sure you can ask him about the condition of the bike and what he thinks as he has seen it threw out my building it. I got the 88 1300 motor from him. I can pull the auction when I want............ '98 1300 Slipping Clutch - Can't Figure It Out!!!

I have a '98 Royal Star 1300, 20k miles, lightly driven, no synthetic oil ever used, clutch slips intermittently, replaced clutch spring and fibers, steeles were mint, still slipped, started looking at clutch master cylinder, I flushed and bled the clutch fluid. I ran it hard with no slipping for 15 minutes then it started slipping again, any ideas? I'm stumped guys. Thanks for any input! -

You all have helped up with questios I've had so far and I really appreate it! So here's another. Can 1200 carbs be used in the 1300? The ones I have in this 1300 are so gummed up, I figureit would be easier just to switch them out. 1200's are out there, but the 1300's are hard to find. Any suggestions?

I got my pumpkin . I went to Zdeno in kitghner and after a little hunting I found what i wanted and its in good shape Al was kind enough to let me open itup and look inside before buying it, he actually has a few of them mostly for the 1200 and one for a 98. which i believe forthe all intents and purposes is the same as the 1300 first gen other than the shaft is longer but i think could be changed if needed and the addition of a sensor by the pinion shaft. the diff i took cost me 200. Which I thought was an ok deal. I'm thinking of replaceing the seals before putting it into service.
