    LMAO

A man was sick and tired of going to work every day while his wife stayed home. He wanted her to see what he went through so he prayed: 'Dear Lord: I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife merely stays at home. I want her to know what I go through. So, please allow her body to switch with mine for a day. Amen!' God, in his infinite wisdom, granted the man's wish. The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman. He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate, Awakened the kids, Set out their school clothes, Fed them breakfast, Packed their lunches, Drove them to school, Came home and picked up the dry cleaning, Took it to the cleaners And stopped at the bank to make a deposit, Went grocery shopping, Then drove home to put away the groceries, Paid the bills and balanced the check book. He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog. Then, it was already 1P.M. And he hurried to make the beds, Do the laundry, vacuum, Dust, And sweep and mop the kitchen floor. Ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with them on the way home. Set out milk and cookies and got the kids organized to do their homework. Then, set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing.. At 4:30 he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad, breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper. After supper, He cleaned the kitchen, Ran the dishwasher, Folded laundry, Bathed the kids, And put them to bed. At 9 P..M . He was exhausted and, though his daily chores weren't finished, he went to bed where he was expected to make love, which he managed to get through without complaint. The next morning, he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said: - 'Lord, I don't know what I was thinking. I was so wrong to envy my wife's being able to stay home all day. Please, oh! Oh! Please, let us trade back. Amen!' The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied: 'My son, I feel you have learned your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were. You'll just have to wait nine months, though. You got pregnant last night.' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  3. Made this one for Mom (Deb). this was my daughter's first formal, so I followed her around all day with the cameras, and you know how teenage girls love that, she ragged at me all day. But when she viewed it she gave me a big hug and awwww how sweet, so I was forgiven and Mamma had a tear in here eye so I knew I done good. Anyway, she growing up and hopes she enjoys this look back many years down the road! [ame=http://www.vimeo.com/1890878]First Formal on Vimeo[/ame]

    Bear Cub

I had a visitor last night at work. Around 6-7 week old female bear cub. She weighed about 3 lb. I am friends with a local DNR wildlife officer that currently has 3 baby bears. Their den got dozed out on a job site and the mother ran off. They waited for a day and she didn't come back. Today they are being put in the wild with new moms. I had never seen one that little. It was a great surprise for the girl I was working with. I have worked with her for 5 years. It was her last day at work and she had never seen a bear except maybe at a game farm. Can we say it was a photo op for the customers that came in. 1. The DNR officers son Sam that brought the cub to see us. 2. So cute 3. The cub and I 4. Des-my coworker with the cub. Her last day 5. My sister-in-law Christine fell in love. 6. Time for a Bottle 7. The Perfect photo for Bear Heaven (our Boyds bear shop)
  5. Poor Northerner, I had him shaken in his shoes when I stripped his bike down. He told me he was nervous seeing his bike all torn down. One day of maintenance will take Northerner 3 days to recover:rotf::rotf:. She's back together and ready to ride. Great day all around. Pic http://www.venturerider.org/forum/album.php?albumid=298
  6. Due to all the snow and ACTS OF NATURE we had in my town, our school system will be open on June 5th, the day that we planned to leave for Freebirds. I do not know what we will be able to do now. I guess we have to leave really early on Saturday. Do not like riding in the dark on those early morning expressway trips. We will figure out something. Yama Mama:big-grin-emoticon:
  7. OK....here's the thing. I've been smoke free now for 10 days. I decided to do this with no patches, gum, etc. Just cold turkey. The first day was really hard...the second day was really hard too. Then it seemed to started getting a bit easier. OR SO I THOUGHT! The past two days were absolutely BRUTAL. On Wednesday morning, I snuck a couple of cigarettes out of my wife's pack before leaving for work. Actually drove around for about 30 minutes with an unlit cigarette in my mouth and a lighter in my hand. I never lit it though. Ended up taking them home at the end of the day and put them back where I found them. Today it seemed to get a bit easier again. I keep hoping that I'm getting over the hump but only time will tell. I try to remind myself all the time that if I start back now, that means I've tortured myself for 10 days for nothing. I also try to remember all the money that I'm saving...believe it or not..that is about $350.00 per MONTH.....that's just crazy. I also try to remind myself that the doctor told me last week that the little stroke I had two weeks ago was just a gentle warning and I had BETTER quite smoking. It's amazing though how a little nicotine addiction can almost make all those arguments seem irrelevant. That's the other thing that I keep reminding myself of...that it is a drug addiction and I don't WANT to be a drug addict. So...I'm hanging in there. I know some of you are going through the same thing and just wanted to say....GOOD LUCK!!!! Let's be STRONG!!!
  8. Lowell has arrived at the Dragon's Lair.......spending the nite....catching up on everything..........Todd Lowell has left some parts here for you...........maybe we can meet up one day for coffee or such.
  9. I'm planning an escape from the Frozen Tundra and was messing around on weather.com looking for a weather window to plan my escape.. I found the Interstate Forecast feature which is nice but it gives temps in various cities all at the same time of day... But if you select Option 2 you enter your leaving city and can add cities at the time of day you're going through them. It's snowing here Mon. but Tues. is cold and clear... I'm hoping the Main roads are clear of ice & snow by Wed. cuz Thurs & Fri another snowstorm coming through. So I got one chance to get out of here this week. I'm going to FL for Daytona Bike Week. I had to mess with the formatting to post it here... It's actually easier to read on the weather. com website... I think it's java or something... Anyhow here's what my trip is looking like... My Travel Summary Below are the forecasts for your selected cities and times. Forecasts are based on the time of day you selected. If your trip is more than 10 days away, you will see averages and records for that day. 10. I guess we have decided to buy a Uni-go trailer and I am wondering if there are any used ones out there. I have read all there is on this site about them, pros and cons. My intent is light camping,(no cooking) with about every 3rd day in a motel. We are planning a trip from Virginia to Yellowstone this summer. My thought is that even when we don't camp, much of the time we need both summer and winter clothing as well as rain gear, ect. Wife is not a light packer and she well fill what ever size trailer we get, so I think small is best. We just got back from Key West, trailered to Daytona , then put 1200 miles on the bike riding arround. Sure would have been nice to have a little less junk on the bike. We have a 20 dog who loves to go also, he rides in a box on the luggage rack on our one day trips. Any suggestions or leads on a used trailer would be appreicated (forget the one about a lighter packing wife, got to keep this one)

    Wow..a butler seat gem

After Christmas I sent my 05 RSTD OEM seat back to Rick Butler to reshape the memory foam as it was making my arse numb. He was kind enough to modify it a second time and I feel I can now ride all day long What an asset to have for US Royal Star owners . THanks RickNorm dba Nevada Max
  12. Have not seen any thing on here yet so here it is>>>>>>> HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!! I suppose I am in the dog house with all the men now?
  13. happy Valentine's Day everyone on venturerider
  14. Ok last one been away had to catch up. I didn't shoot this one a friend did, so it's not in HD This was me and buddy doing a little unrehearsed tune at a tribute we had for a fallen friend at our Local Yamaha shop last summer. my VR buddies Donob11 and Mariner Fan came down and hung out with us that day, so I thought it apporpriate to share her, with my other musician biker friends. 15. Don sent me a very nice note the other day and it cause a guilt pain that I haven't been on in so long. Last year started with meeting all of you and getting some great tips for my Venture and making a bunch of new friends. June came and work pressures made me miss Maintenance day and meeting some of you, but I did get to meet my borther from another monther Mariner Fan, ol danob11 on some others on summer riders. We took our big trip up to Canada and in July and in Ste Saint Maire, MI I met the world famous Gentlemen George and got to see him perform in the park. I still say this is one of the best internet communities I have come across on the internet, absolutelty GREAT PEOPLE. Shortly after that we aquired a new company in Cincinnati and the workload piled on, so lots of travel and not much more riding got done. I also started a side Videograpahy business and that keep most of the free weekends occupied. So hasn't been much time for surfing the web or riding. There was one unexpectedly warm day in December and I just got my new HD camera, so we took a little ride and I used the day to feel the wind and experiment with the new camera. So that was our last real ride of the year, and man am I jones'n to ride. If the video below is jerky, click the HD on and turn if off and it should scroll out better. [ame=http://www.vimeo.com/2155865]Eat to Ride, Ride to Eat on Vimeo[/ame] 3 Weeks ago at a video shoot for a band I took an unexpected step off a stage and tore my Achilles Tendon in half and had to have it put back together. So that has finally slowed me down a bit, and allowed me to get on here and catch up with my VR Family and friends. So don't know what this season holds (I hope more riding), but I look forward to corssing some more of your paths, seeing some old friends and hopefully making Maintenance day this year!! God bless and everyone ride safe! Curt, Deb & Carson
  16. heres an article i read today about Yamaha profitabilty about to be announced in the next day or 2. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601101&sid=apI5Q5vsNCdQ&refer=japan Brian
  17. I am retiring from my job this summer after 30 years. I will of course get another job and start a 2nd career but before doing so I have the blessings from my lovely wife to go on a 30 day ride on my RSV. This ride will start at the beginning of August. Due to the heat/humidity I'd rather not go south. Besides, I'm from the south and have seen much of it. I'm trying to decide which way to go-West or North where it should be cooler. Due to back problems I will probably average no more than 300 miles or so a day but maybe up to 400. I'll stay at the cheapest hotels I can find to save money. Anyone have any thoughts on which direction I should go based on personal experiences?
  18. Well today wasnt the best day I have ever had at work.........I stepped on a rubber mat next to my CNC machine at work and as I did it slipped out from under me sending me to the floor landing on my arse.............didnt hurt when it happend, but it is starting to hurt up and down my back now..............This was preceded by me missing 2 days, Wed, & Thurs, due to my scitica bothering me so bad I could hardly walk, sit or move without being in complete agony. Dr. prescribed painkiller for me and that did the trick, today when I went to work I was painfree for the first time in two weeks and then this happens, I filled out an accicent report as soon as it happened and notified both supervisors that it happened, I have a feeling that when I go back to work Mon, the facility manager is going to make me go to the Dr, and get a release to work before he will let me back in the shop.........he has done that to me once already when I had carpal tunnel problem. Just took another pain pill to see if I can get rid of it, And today was the first day I rode my bike to work in 10 days............man life can sure be a drag.............
  19. Just wanted to let everyone know about a really good set of chaps, well at least I think so. Over the Christmas Holidays I ordered a set of chaps from http://www.coloradochaps.com/motorcycle_chaps.html I ordered the Heavy Duty 1000 denier cordura nylon with fleece lining and the knee/shin pads. I was waiting for a cold day to test them and get a good idea of what they feel like. First and foremost I really like these chaps. It was 33 when I left my house and 30 when I got to work and today was the first day I rode with the knee pads in. I can say that it was the first day of riding in weather below 40 that my knees didn't hurt, in fact when I took them off my knees and shins were actually very warm to the touch. Another plus for me was that they loop over your belt so you don't have another belt around your waist digging into your back. They ride higher on your legs covering more of your upper thigh and they don't weigh you down. They are very light about 1/4 the weight of comparable leather chaps. Last year I didn't wear chaps below 45 degrees, I wore a snowmobile suite to keep warm, today the chaps kept me warm. BTW it's a 50 mile ride to work so there was plenty of time to get cold. I highly recommend these chaps even though they are a bit pricey. I intend to get a pair of the light weight ones for summer. Gonna pack my old heavy leather chaps away for good. Oh yeah they are custom made for you, just send them your thigh size and inseam and they will get them out to you. They had mine in the mail in 3 days.
  20. I know we do alot of bragging down here in the sunny south about our twelve month riding season. But, the truth of the matter is that since November our weather in Atlanta has pretty much sucked, at least for riding. If it wasn't raining (which we despertly needed) it's been pretty cold. Not as cold as some of you but cold enough to keep the bike parked. I'm at a loss to understand how some you in the colder climates tolerate the winters but down here, we don't do well with the cold and Cabin Fever can be a real concern. Expressing my concerns about my mental health due to cabin fever to Blackjack, he suggested a ride on Friday which was projected as a decent riding day. Mostly sunny with a high temp of 65. Friday also happened to be the opening day of the Great American Motorcycle Show being held here in Atlanta, this weekend. So we agreed on a time and place to meet and took a short but pleasant ride to attend the opening of the show. One of his neighbors/Goldwing buddies, Ken, who has also attended several N. Ga. M&E's, also made it in time to be there with us when the doors opened. We spent the afternoon walking the show which overall was the same as last year's and all the years before. But, we still had a good time and I took a few pictures to share.
  21. just got back from the bass pro meet and eat, and i do mean eat. met midnight venture and his wife for the first time and they are very nice folks. got alllanh out in the open and met his new lady friend he did well ,very nice lady. dale brought cindy and haylie and i must say cindy was a good girl and did'nt get in any trouble at all. dooder and doodette were there and i offered to do free surgery on dooders hip. told him i had a vice grips and hack saw. seriously i hope his surgery goes well. it was a great day and i hope everyone enjoyed it as much as linda and i did. thanks to all that came for a very enjoyable day. bill
  22. Even though I sold the Venture I still had a few left over parts that someone may have a use for. I have posted them in the classifieds in case anyone is interested. Have a good day.
  23. I hauled a feral Hog to the locker plant this morning behind my bike. I was curious as to what oddities ya'll have hauled. I sure did get some looks. I got quite a few the other day when I hauled a complete oak desk. Guess a trailer behind a bike is not an every day thing here in the DFW area. I may use my truck again when diesel drops to a buck a gallon again.
  24. starting to get to work on my annual st. charles meet may 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2oo9. i have added an extra day this year to make it worth the ride for people who have to come a long way. i have 2 great rides planned for each day with a big barbeque at my house the last day after the ride. lots of historic sights to see, on both rides. we have casino's near the host motel for those who like to play the slots, and harrahs is near by. as soon as i get the host motel info i will fill in the details. hope to see the old faces and a bunch of new ones this year. see you there. bill :clap2:
  25. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1930's 40's, 50's, and 60's!!! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking . As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because...... WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem . We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no text messaging, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms..........WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents . We played with worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them! Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! And YOU are one of them! CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good. and while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?! PS -The big type is because your eyes are shot at your age ! How true how true.
