  1. I am very sorry about your loss and from what I gather from this post you are going to miss him a great deal Dennis. It is wonderful that you have great memories of your father.
  2. Isn't socialism grand! The U.S. is heading down the same path.
  3. Very charming with character that you can't get with newer homes and a picket fence to boot. Congrats! Courtney.
  4. I do it in a similar fashion. Besides the weight of the gas I have led lights under the tank and I haven't put a quick release plug on them yet so I would have to take them loose from the tank.
  5. Don't taze me bro! How does this relate to riding ventures? I thought maybe this topic was going to say that if you tazed your 1st or 2nd gen that it would run faster or something like that.
  6. Ditto:clap2:
  7. Ditto on how amazing it is and wonderful that you guys came out of this wreck as unscathed as you did after seeing the bike. I pray that you Brad and Lonna heal quickly, that the insurance settles in a timely manner and you find an even better motorcycle maybe even a brand new 2nd gen. You will be in my prayers.
  8. Great riding weather here and got in about a 3 hr. ride. Some wind but very good riding sunny weather in low 70's. That winter storm from California is supposed to hit tomorrow and may spell serious thunderstorms when the gulf warm and wet air hits that cold west to Northwest winter storm. Like they say in Oklahoma. It you don't like the weather just wait a few minutes. Although they say that about a lot of places. Okies and other midwesterners batton down the hatches!
  9. Very interesting and somewhat accurate.
  10. These are the same people that scream out civil liberties have been taken away by the current administration. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. But of course these elites think they know what is best for the rest of us.Nanny state politics at it's finest.
  11. Just glad you are both in one piece. Everything else has been said already.
  12. Good job!! Hilarious!:rotf:
  13. Keep up the good work Lowell. That 3rd day is tough because the nicotine is leaving your system and the physical cravings really set in along with the habit part of it. I usually gave in by the 3rd day. Don't do it . I Know it is harder that it sounds. I smoked last the Monday after Thanksgiving. I have been taking Chantix. I am a firm believer in it. It was relatively painless, no cravings or desires to smoke. I finally had to stop taking it because of the side effects. Aching joints, weak muscles, blurred vision, difficulty concentrating and now flu like symptoms without the fever from withdrawal. I still don't want to smoke and the symptoms have been worth it. Most of the side effects they say are rare.I have always had rare side effects with medication. My doctor says I'm a walking statistic. You are well on your way with 3 days. Don't let the nicotine lie to you and trick you into having just one. Just like Lays potato chips. My previous attempt was 5 days and I conned myself into thinking I could smoke just one. Keep in mind the freedom of not smoking, savings in money, better health, won't be hassled by the non smokers or their nasty looks. For those that have never smoked it all makes no sense. It never made sense to me although I kept smoking and loved every minute of it. I'm now loving every minute of not smoking now. What a relief one day at a time. I pray that you are successful one day @ a time.
  14. It would really be funny if it weren't so true.
  15. Ditto on all that.
  16. Saddlesore biker for me also. Pretty accurate as far as I can tell.
  17. I did both the first time and now I have the stock front tire size. Both have been the Avon venoms. For me narrower front tire in conjunction with the leveling links was too responsive especially quick to follow grooves or uneven surfaces. The links and the stock tires still respond very well without the poor tracking as I just described. The tracking seemed to get worse as the tires began to wear. The links make the perfect improvement in low speed handling and in curves. I can't speak to the improvement described by Venture riders that only changed to the narrower front tire. The ones on this sight that have done that describe similar improvement as the leveling links. Good luck on your decision.
  18. Like going down Mammary lane literally!
  19. Congratulations! to the both of you. And may there be many more to come.
  20. Very good post. A sad but encouraging living example of the human spirit and courage in the face of tragedy a demonstration of Angelica's faith. I did sign and respond on her prayer list as you requested. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention.
  21. I have the same brake & running light. Yours looks like the red background and mine is the clear lenses. Either one really makes a difference in the visibility. That is the major issue I have with the Venture is the lack of lighting for rear end visibility. This solves the problem as far as I'm concerned.
  22. Kinda reminds me of a blonde joke: How do you get a blonde out of a tree? Answer:Wave at her.:rotf:Some days I wave so much I get sea sick!
  23. Pretty incredible water pressure. They need to work on the landing part though. They were looking like something failed or it wasn't supposed to go down that hard. It looks like they put a lot of hard work into that contraption that appears to be destroyed when the car fell. Pretty cool though!
  24. Sorry about your loss. I don't know how you feel but when a fellow rider goes down it is more dramatic for me even though I don't know your friend I guess because it could be me next. I know it is going to be hard for you and your going to miss him a lot.
