You won't need a "T". These Switches are built into the Banjo Bolt ... Sorry, i don't where to get them in US, but here's a Pic ... http://www.micronsystems.de/pd1170165377.htm?categoryId=116

This would work, but you'll need to rewire the Switches. I'd use the mechanic Switches for Brake Light/Clutch Operation and mount hydraulic Switches for operating the Cruise Control. This would give you another Benefit, because the CC won't drop out until there's some Pressure built up in the Clutch or Brake Lines, means any Slack of the Levers won't affect the CC.

Best Time for a stock '09 with an well expirienced and jockey-Style Rider was 9.97. Slightly improved Bike with optimized Exhaust and well expirinced Rider was 9.7something. Jay Gleason did 9.51 on a optimized Bike with a Shinko Slick on the rear. The 'average' Vmax-Rider on a near Stock Bike does mid to low 10's ...

I'm sure i ran my '09 :255: My major Problem is, i can't beat my Ride from a Still Stand... You only need to take a Look at the R/T between the 3 Runs and the 60 ft Times ... I took of like a Snail on the first two Runs. I tried to hold the Revs at 2.5 k in 3rd and at 3 k in the fourth Run. The Bike's Reaction even 3k was less than expected. This VHT Stuff gives incredible Grip. Road Racers have a Saying "Ride it like you hate it" .... I LOVE my Ride and it's very hard for me to rev it up to 3 k or more and drop the Clutch, even on this Purpose. Here's my first Run ... I did stupid Things yesterday... I took the '09 Vmax and rode to the Hockenheim Ring to go Drag Racing ... I did four Runs on the perfect Pro-Prepared Raceway and came home safe and sound, but very exhausted. It was a very hot Day and the Line-up Organisation was not so good. I did four Runs and came out not to good.... Here are my Results ... metric http://wkhost.webkicks.de/squeeze/Docs/09/DragZeiten.jpg and imperial http://wkhost.webkicks.de/squeeze/Docs/09/Hockenheim08082009mph.jpg I screwed up in first Run, because i realized at around 1/8 Mile, that i have some Remainder on the Throttle Grip to achieve Full Throttle. Second Runs wasn't feeling bad. My Wrist took over for a Moment in the 3rd Run because i went over a small Patch of Oil breaking the rear Tire loose for a Moment. Forth Run wasn't feeling too bad, but my Body felt exhausted and overheating, nothing special that i recall there. Times at low 12 Seconds are whimpy seeing the Bike and what other Riders do with it in US. A Buddy of mine ran 12.0 in his first Run and continously improved to 11.007 in his 4th Run. There were probably around 2 or 3 Thousand Spectators on the Stands after noon. It was Kind of Fun and truely a special Expirience, I'd do it again if there's a Chance. I ran Part of the Road Racer Track on the Way back to the Pits and this was Fun too. Closed Circuit with no oncoming Traffic ... I evened out the Profile of rear Tire immediately after flattening it out out at the Pre Start Burn Out.

I assume the Voltage which drops is the Voltage at the TCI Input. If so, I'd check the Voltage on the Battery Posts during starting with a second Voltmeter or, at least hook the Voltmeter to teh Battery Post and check there. The Voltage on the TCI should not drop lower than the Battery Voltage. If the Voltage on the Battery drops equivalent to the Voltage at the TCI, usually the Battery is gone. If not, you'll need to explore the feeding Wires further.

Annie, thats way more than good enough Info. I'll get after Spiegler on Monday Morning.

We talked about that EFI Conversion once i a while. It's not a bright Idea to place the Injectors at an 90 Degree Angle to the Air Flow, but compared to this Quadrajet Carb Project it may have a better (more rideable) Outcome. A Gain in Power or Torque may not be given with this EFI Setup, but it might be a Lot easier to dial in and tune.

updated Regulator/Rectifier Group Buy

Last count is 38 Units as of now. So, who is willing to arrange this Deal with the Vendor, to get them shipped out with Connectors. -
Sure Annie, no Problem, my Pleasure to help. Would you please sent me a Picture of your Bikes rear Brake Calipers, one from the full Side and one from behind where the the Pads go into the Caliper ? I'll call them on Monday and figure this out for ya. I'll PM you my Email Addie for the Pics. What Handle bar do you use ? Stock, this is a 1 Inch Diameter on the 2Gens. Didi you mount a different Handlebar and/or other Struts ? Because, you'll need a long Brake Line to connect this Thumb Master Cylinder and the rear Caliper. Best Option would be to take a Rope and hold it to the extimated Position of the Thumb M/C and feed the Rope to the Caliper on a safe Route, then cut the Rope, pull it out and measure the Lenght. What Side do you prefer ? Usually, this Thumb M/C goes to left Side on the Handle Bar.

Don't know too much about these Carbs Idle Circuit and the Availability for smaller Air and Fuel Jets. I think you'll, at least, need something like an Airbox, which leads to the same Problem with available Space above the Manifolds. But if it's a rather easy Task for why not make it happen ? MiCarl, thanks for the Explanation. That's Kind of what i guessed. Oh, since i was on the Drag Strip today, I'm quite sure i heard the Roar of those Carbs ...

Well, to be humble ... because an 4.3 Liter Air Pump sucks a Lot more Air at low Revs than a 1.2 Liter Air Pump. Bringing all 4 Intakes togehter will cause a Resonance and other wierd Things. I'm not that familiar with a Quadrajet Carb, but from Description there are two primary Throttle Valves at 34mm each and two secondary Stages operated be Vacuum or somthing similiar. Besides there might be some Problems with heat caused Movement of the Manifolds and keeping them sealed under such Conditions, what would onegain from the Effort ? Mounting a V-Boost Intake is much easier and achives better Result.

updated Regulator/Rectifier Group Buy
Squeeze replied to Squeeze's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I absolutely agree, i for one, wouldn't need the Connector Packages, but i want a nice, clear, safe and trouble free Setup, so I'm not willing to leave them out. If the Guy can deliver all Connector Packages, fine, if not, we should be able to pick the missing Sets somewhere else. If there's a Price Difference, we should split the Costs inbetween the Group Buy. -
Well, Unsnarley Bill got a freaking fast ZX14 Drag Racer in the Stable and GeorgeS has his nice '99 unlimited Busa right next to his 1Gen. I don't think I'm the only one who handles higher Performance Bikes here.. There are some other Member with nice Rides too. Bill, this Trike could be your Ticket to the Texas Mile :happy34:

No, i ain't gonna slap you for that ... I'm Part Time Cruiser, with the 1Gen and and the Misses riding shotgun, i usually calm down just enough to not making her slap the back of my Helmet more than 3 Times per Day. She actually didn't hit me once while we were hooliganing with some Vmax Friends through Austrian Mountains in May. :fingers-crossed-emo:fingers-crossed-emo I don't think a single Manifold Setup is a good Idea. That's because the the Vacuum is very low and gives a poor Mixture Build up on Idle and up until hitting upper Range of the Revs. This Setup will come to Life from 5.5 k or so. A blower Setup ?? There are Blue Ridge Mountain Sportsmax, Ufo Performance with Jon Cornel in Ohio, Sean Morley with Morley's Muscle, Bill Warner(wildbros) in Florida, probably also Jon Ganey at PCW Racing in no particular Order. A Buddy of mine had a Blower off a Mini Cooper S mounted to his 1200c Vmax with the Full Motor Management EFI. I never rode the Bike, but he told me, even at only 5 psi this was down right a SCARY Ride because of all the Power. Wheelies are just 3 mm twist of the Grip away. He is used to ride heavy modified Maxxes, so i take his Word for it and just believe what he told me. He sold the Motor and all to a Drag Racer and went back to a 1200 cc Motor with FMM-EFI.

So, look into the other Bike ... :bluesbrother: I'm sorry Dan, but what do you expect ? We're Kind of the same Breed, i misplaced a Lot of my Stuff in my Life. **** happens as Forest Gump said ...

Help, broke down 2,000 miles from home
Squeeze replied to Seaking's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My first Check would be, do the Plugs have Spark ? If so, try to spray something like Brake Cleaner or Starter Fluid into the Intake and see what happens... If no Spark, -check the Red/white Wires on the Coil Connectors for having +12 Volts -check Pick-Up Coil Leads I'd suspect a bad Main Switch, though. -
Since official Informations about the 2010 VMAX showed up recently, in Fact the Bike seems to stay untouched with Exception of the Color(candy Red), Rumours about the 2011 Model leaked out somewhere ... I won't say anything else than ....

GREAT!! This is a smoking Deal. This Unit is a Lot more from Yamaha ... We should be able to get the Connectors and Terminals for each Unit. Cavity Plugs wouldn't be high on my Priority List. If i remember right, he charged you 5 Bucks for the Connectors and other Stuff. That would be fine for me. Paypal works for for me. We should get this going !! -

Very unique, i like it. :thumbsup2: -
If the Pivot Points are ok, you'll most likely see the "Pins fallen out"-Syndrom. Put a 2x4 under rear Wheel, place the Bike on the Side Stand and undo the Clutch Cover. Behind the Clutch Basket to the lower left is this Shiftung Rachet Mechanism. There's a Star shaped double Washer Metal Tabs coming from behind. These Tabs hold the Pins in Place. Most likely these Tabs are bent and the Pins esacped. Yammi made an upgraded Part on the 2003 vmax. It's better to use this instead of the stock VR Part which most likely will fail again. If you're able to find the Pins, you could stick them back in and bend the Tabs back in Place as a temporary Solution. But really only temporary...
