Coolant and Oil can mix up only in the Breather Assembly and this Mixture gets exhausted/sucked up into the Airbox. I had and heard about this Beast so much and more than likely there was nothing more contaminated than the Engine Gases.

These Cylinders all come toghter in the Collector, so less Exhaust Fume on either Side doesn't mean nothing specific in first Place. As you mentioned, your Bike runs on the rich Side, i think Seafoam won't help you much in this. Seafoam is added to the Fuel and therefore it can't do anything on cleaning the Air Jets and Ducts inside the Carbs. I think you should byte the Bullet and dismount the Carb Set completly, split them and clean them up. Check everything from the Diaphragm to the Floater Valves and Seats, A good Bath in a ultrasonic Cleaner would help to clear everything up and after you got that straight, set the Floater Valves and be good to go.

No need to lick this Gunk. It's mixed up with minor Coolant Portion. But showing this in the Airbox, doesn't mean necessary that there is some Interchange between Oil and Coolant going on.

Steve, i totally agree. JT, you physically fit on that Bike and therefore i wouldn't miss doing a short round with it. You don't need to hang on, because Torque is relativ low on these 4-Inliners, but watch out what happens when you start winding it out at 9 000 RpM. The Tach will rise as fast as the Speedo. Quick shift it fast at low 11 000 RpM in first two Gears and that's where the Fun begins. Don't wetten the Seat at 13 000 in 3rd Gear.

What about the latest fuels for our bikes?
Squeeze replied to dharnie's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Unless you have a open Aftermarket Ignition Box mounted, you can't 'overrev' a 2Gen. The Rev-Limiter kicks in Way before the the troublesome Revs are arrieved. -
Well JT, what's about to say ?? 130 or something hp, newer ones with FI, very light, very Powerfull, 14 000 RpM, outstanding Brakes, normally riding superglue Tires, very fast and build for Twisties or Race Track. That pretty much sums the Basics up.

You should replace both the O-Ring Style Seals on the Engine Breather Casing( The Box inside the V) and this should be gone. Blown Head Gasket ? Nope, i don't think so.

What gas mileage do you get ?

Greg, this is funny somehow. I've seen his Ultrasonic Cleaner on Ebay Germany and wondered about getting some Cleaner for testing Purpose. The Company is 50 km from me away. These Keyster Carb Kits are cheap. I'm wondering about how long the Parts which wore out can upheld the Job. I've looked up for the XV 535 Kit, because they use the same Carbs as the Ventures and Vmaxxes with slightly different Jets Sizes. Mainly, these Jets don't wear, just the Jet Needle and the Needle Jet(Emulsion Tube), eventually the Mixture Screws, Springs and their O-Rings and of Course the Gaskets. Therefore, Mikuni Parts seems to be the better(safer) Choice at the same Price. The Price of the Diaphragm on the english NRP Website is really cheap. They are cheaper than i can get them Aftermarket Parts from the Wholesaler. But there is no Pic available, i wonder what Parts they're selling. -
Jumps out of 2nd gear
Squeeze replied to blueblood's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have not so much to add at this Point. Dan has covered pretty much everything. The rattling Noise comes basically from the slightly displaced outgoing Transshaft. Once the whole Shaft is back where it should be, the rattling stops. I'd check the Bearings, yes, but only replace them when i could call them worn. The Bearings are standard metric Bearings, but some of them have a Retainer Pin, which makes them Yammi Parts and a Lot more expensive. Personally, i'd replace the Shift Fork of the second Gear anyway, but that's only me. If the Forks aren't worn on the End Tips and at the Pin which connects to the Shift Drum, they can be reused. But i'd rather bite the Bullet and pay for a new Fork than do such a major Job and come out not perfect because i saved 30 Bucks ... Oh, before i forget to mention it, don't feel too sorry after you got it done. Don't kick your yourself and say, i should have done it ten Years ago. Winding out the Engine in 2nd surely is a special Experience. -
Fork Oil - Level or Quantity
Squeeze replied to Squeeze's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Dick, you can't adjust anything by the Torque on the Axle. The Axle has to real tight, because if not, the whole Bearing Assembly doesn't work as it should. If you find it Binding again, you should (eventually) put a thin Washer between right Side Wheel Collar and Forkleg. Just to make sure that the the Torque of the Axle is right and it doesn't cause the Binding again. -
Fork Oil - Level or Quantity
Squeeze replied to Squeeze's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Dick, that doesn't sound good. The Tubes should run with very very low Resistance to compressed and expanded End. When i have the Legs in the Bike without a Spring or Wheel mounted, the Legs slide slowly to full expanded just by Gravity. I guess, there must be something stuck inside ? Is the front Wheel still mounted ? If so, what happens when you open the Pinch Bolt and loosen the Front Axle ? -
sqeak? clutch
Squeeze replied to funrider's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Replacement is not that hard, undo the Clutch Cover and the Pressure Plate, press or slightly tap the Bearing out of the Pressure Plate, insert new Bearing, remount everything, done. If you need to worry about it ? I don't know, it usually takes some Time until this Bearings falls apart. But as you recently worked on the Clutch you might save the Gasket. You can either buy a standard Bearing or the Yammi Thing. The Standard Bearing will go south earlier than the Yammi, but how long the Standard Bearings holds up ?? 3 Years ? 5 Years ? Depends how often you hold the Clutch at Lights while in Gear. If you can find a Market Brand Bearing, SKF, Timken, Koyo or such .. purchase a C3 Version. This stands for extended radial Freplay. -
Mini, i don't think so. He's seeing some Light from the End of the Tunnel and soon he will see the brightest Light when he's out riding again.

Buy or borrow a digital Temperature Guage, mout the Sensor at the HOse whoch comes out at the rear Cylinder Head or where the Stock Sensor mounts in the front Area, velcro the Guage to the Bike and go on a test ride.

Brian .. i know, i looked up the Prices in US before purchasing mine here by Ebay. Got a Steal with a 2 Months old with some Extras at about half the new Price, Spiderman3 Video qnd License also is on the Chip.. All i can say, this Phone is great. Yes, it's lacks the Keyboard and posting can be annoying with the standard Phone Keyboard. But you can hook up a Wireless Keyboard via Bluetooth. A Touchscreen like a PDA would be better, but i think, they will hold that back for a further Version. Having 3 or 4 Calls per Day and 4 Hours hearing mp3 Songs at Speaker and full Throttle while working on the Bike, the Battery lasts more than 2 Days and Evenings. Sound is good. 5 Megapixel Camera is integrated and works fine also. You even can use it as Modem and connect you Computer by the Phone to whatever is in Range, quad Band GSM, UMTS, Wireless i don't know what else ... this tiny Piece of Art is a technolical Monster.

Nokia N95 8 Gb is a better Deal than the I-Phone. Only downside is see, is the Windows Media Player, but i'm sure there i a Replacement, i just not found it, yet.

hmmm... i think there's something wrong with the 60 ft lbs of Torque. Not that i researched that, but it seams a little low, even for a 2Gen. It should have around 80 ft lbs or a bit more ?

Stock Alternator delivers 300 W or 25 Amps. There are bigger Staors by Aftermarket, but i'm not sure how they can deliver maybe 400 Watt ?
