I'm sorry, nobody asked me before

Or, before start milling, Look underneath your Bike and look out for any Problem on the Shock and Suspension Linkage that might occur when you're moving the Swingarm the 0.2 Inches in Question. If you can't see any, take the next Step. To do so, buy an adjustable Pivot Bolt for the left Side, take out the old, fixed Bolt and mount the adjustable Bolt. Alingn and adjust the Swingarm properly, bolt everything down and be a happy Camper.

Yes i remember the Frame Issues, but this is mostly on '83 Bikes, maybe early '84 are made the same Way. But i don't think the Frame is an Issue here. As a Matter of Fact, on all these Bikes, be it 1Gen or Vmax all Issues tend to Disappear when a Passenger is in the back. This is caused by various Reasons and no need to speculate all these Possiblities at this Point. Let's wait what both say after riding Solo again. -
On a 1Gen, the Vmax unit fits Bolt on. No Speedo to hassle with. All you need to do is to undo the Shock Bolt which the Vmax Drives comes with nowmally. Just turn it out.

The only secure Way to determine which Final Drive you have, is to count the Numbers of Turns made on the Input made in Reference to Numbers of Turns the Output Spline has made. If you turn the Drive Shaft 9.9 Times to reach exact 3 Turns on the Output, it's a Venture Ratio. If you need to turn 11 Times to make 3 Turns on the Output, it's a Vmax Ratio Drive. The Vmax Riders mostly change the to Venture Drive, because they put in other Wheels. 17 Inchers to be precise. This makes the Circumference of the rear Tire smaller than the standard Tire. Which elevates the RpM on any given Speed by nearly 500 RpM.

When three Guys stating such serious Facts, i smell there might be something. Therefore, i would suggest NOT to tinker at the Bike or the Pressure or anything else. Instead of this, maybe there's a fellow Member nearby(for canadian Relativity's) and willing to offer HIS Wheel for a test on Carl's, Wizard's or Gone14S's Bike ? It's a hassle, yes, but when you start to tinker with the Bikes, there is no Way telling what has happened when a Change in Behaviour would occur. On the other Hand, if you change the rear Wheel only, at best to another Brand than Avon, and feel no Difference to the Avon, you can take it as a Fact that the Tire isn't to blame. If there is a Change in Behaviour, there is something wrong with Tire or Rim. As i would rule out the Rim in first Place. Now, there would be a Choice to make, change the Tire to another Avon or change to another Brand. But since the Avon would come off the Rim, there is the Time to double check the Rim for anything which can occur. -

Get the rear Tire on a 2 Inch Piece of Wood and the Bike on the Side Stand, and you don't need to drain Oil to undo the Clutch Cover. But if you find a Pin missing, you'd better take the Oil out and search the Oil for it with a Magnet. I suggest to bite the Bullet and buy a new Part, Yammi updated this Star Washer/Ratchet Assembly at the Vmax, i think in 2002(?), this might be the Way to go.

Did you check the Temps of the Radiator with your Hand, when you noticed that the Guage isn't moving ? Be carefull, the Radiator obviusly can be hot, but when you try to feel the Radiator and also touch the Elbow on the Waterpump Cover, there should be very close Temps. If you have a IR Thermometer, this is easy to check and compare.

Your Friend sure isn't wrong. If the Tire initially isn't seated well, this will cause Problems. Carl, the first Dealer should have done this to your Tire when he found out that it needed this much of Weight. And placing all Weights on one Side is, well said, not so smart, to say it at least. This alone could cause a Problems. -
Synthetic Clutch Fluid - NO Synthetic Oil - imho, Yes But i'm not going to open this synthetic Oil Can of Worms.

For a quick Shot, proceed like this Article describes. It's for the Vmax, but the Carbs are nearly the same. The Idle Mixture Screws should go on 2.25 Turns out, instead of 2.5 Turns out as the Vmax is. http://vmaxoutlaw.com/tech/cleaning_pilot_jets.htm -

Squeeze replied to Marcarl's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Waddle ? Can i imagine this as a Sort of Vibration with longer Wavelength ? My first Thought was, Wheel balancing failed. If you're not afraid, pry off the Balancing Weight and test the Ride. Or attach 5 Grams to the existing Weights and test it. Maybe the Tires weren't stored safely and have a internal Flat Spot. I have had this with a front Tire which exposed a Wobble at 90 km/h. Came from the Dealer with 14 Months old. Finally, i got rid of the Tire. -
