  1. there must be something missing here... I'm still trying to find the one referenced in the original post. ???????
  2. jercoup ... lives in Los Osos ... great folks (Jack & Bev) ... Nina & I met them up here last summer.... sorry to hear about their misfortune but very happy to hear they're "ok".
  3. try this... http://www.monstermax.com/Vmax%20news.html or this... http://www.monstermax.com/
  4. well ain't it just like a LEO .... never around when ya need 'em but when yer not lookin, they're EVERYWHERE!
  5. wow! I had no idea there were so many LEO's on this site! I'll surely be watching my "P's & Q's" from now on.....
  6. It's too bad we can't add a surcharge to our pay rate for things like gas increase... Airline co's do it...taxiis do it...trucking co's do it... everyone else does it.... why shouldn't we be able to??? doesn't make any sense to me at all.
  7. For sake of space I only quoted the opening but man do I hear ya! Everything keeps going up and up at rates we don't even realize and at the same time, our spendable cash diminishes accordingly and before we even realize it, we're broke! Can't even afford to ride our scoot half as much as we used to anymore. We at my work all got a 2.1% cost of living pay increase. For me, that works out to be roughly $48 more cash in my wallet per month... that barely covers my house rent increase which was $45/mo so do "they" really expect the $3 will cover all the other increases? I don't believe in stupid percentages when it comes to pay increases. 2.1% for a guy making 100k a year is a big difference than a guy making 50k a year. You can't tell me that it costs that guy that makes 100k a year more for gas and other such things than the guy making 50k. When wages go up according to the REAL COST increase in living is when things will turn around and the little guy will have more spending power and the credit card debt ratio will diminish. We're living in a world of "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer" and those in the middle aren't getting richer but rather, moving towards being a part of the poor. And the government.... they keep taking more and more and spending it frivolously (sp?). When they need more money for some stupid expense, they just tack on more tax somewhere or, they take it away at tax time by giving less tax credits yet they try and sell us on some scheme to make it sound like they ain't taking anything....yeah sure right....we're not all stupid! ... but they're the power and it seems there's not much we can do about it when they set their minds to it. Sooner or later there will be a revolution I'm sure. I could go on about frivolous govn't spending coz I see some of it first hand (working in a business that contracts to them) but I need to go cool off coz this is really getting me angry....gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  8. ok, c'mon ... dumb canuck here... what the h&^k is a "LEO" ? NEVER MIND... I just figgured it out.... (gawd... I'm losin my mind... I should delete this post so ya'll won't be laffin at me) hehehehe
  9. yes, I should, shouldn't I? .... well, since I will be winning the lottery this weekend.....
  10. not me.. I'm a gemini
  11. Thanks guys for your feedback. I was just wondering about this coz if a guy came upon a trashed 2nd gen that had those covers it would be nice to swap them onto a 1st gen (if the guy so happened to have one) As for the "fake fins", that was a long shot and yes, the side covers of the bike would cover them up even if one could install them.
  12. hmmmmmm... nobody knows I guess ... no responses.
  13. Would either of you care to elaborate on what these products or methods are? Thanks
  14. That happened to me as well with my '85. I was parked at a bike shop checkking out new scoots...getting some goodies, etc.... went to get on the scoot...swung my leg over and plunked myself down on the seat... **SNAP** ... over I went. Musta been 10 guys milling around watching me LOL ... well at least a couple of them came over and helped get my scoot back up. the trick after that was when I got home...had to dismount while keeping the scoot balanced and then get it onto the centre stand.
  15. Watching the news last night about the weather around Calgary and Edmonton...major snow & blizzard conditions... they interviewed a guy and he said the weekend before it was above 20 celcius and he went out and bought a new M/C ... now he was wishin he'd bought a snowmobile!! LOL
  16. I was hoping nobody revivved this post but since somebody did, I guess I hafta "fess up" now... I made it smoke free for 2 months....and then xmas holidays came around...the wife started puffing again...then the company started showing up and some of them are smokers... I tried to avoid the urges but I caved.... damn!!! been back on the butts since then... but I fully intend to take another go at quitting...possibly this week I will start again. An acquaintance of mine did the laser therapy thing 5 weeks ago... I just caught up with her today and she says it's great. She tried the pills but they made her sick. I may take that route...not sure.
  17. I'm wondering if those shiny covers found on the RSTD and/or the RSV would fit a 1st gen 1300 engine. I'm referring to things like the clutch cover, water pump, etc and how about those "fake fins" ... would they fit on a 1st gen? anyone know?
  18. have you checked out this site or anything similar... http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks
  19. I quite often have a "herd of Harleys" following me... they're usually trying to keep up .... yep, it's a hoot alright! (my son and his 2 buddies are the "herd")
  20. Personally, I wouldn't accept such reasoning. If it's sealed, it's sealed and nothing should leak. If it's leaking and it shouldn't be leaking, it's not sealed properly. I think someone screwed up. Let common sense prevail.
  21. yea... but the longest road is only 2 miles in length.... :witch_brew:
  22. yep... it sure has a nice metallic flake to it...really shimmers in the sunlight. I remember years ago when I had my autobody shop...I'd go to the paint supplier and have them mix paint...I'd always ask them to put in "extra course" aluminum for the metallic colors. This color has that already.
  23. Al who????
  24. Parking the scoot in late Oct and not riding again until late April is "normal procedure" .... don't really know nuthin else.
  25. Killex...roundup...24D ... ain't you guys aware that those things are contributing to the degradation of the environment.... In fact, they've pretty much banned the use of the stuff around here. Now lookie here.... me... an environmental activist...
