  1. Or, do what I did (mentioned in earlier post) I heated the base of the stand so that it would "melt into" the nylon for a perfect, tight fit.

  6. hey man...glad you pulled out of that one (the tire blowout I mean ) ... so, are ya gonna tell us how it blew and what kind of tire it was, how many miles on it, etc...??? details...details
  7. While at Star Days a couple years ago, they were handing out round plastic side-stand "pucks". On my '87, I fashioned and bolted into place some material from one of those nylon cutting boards. That worked great. Another idea would be to take a hockey puck and slice it in half...then ya got 2 incase 1 gets lost...
  8. They still do...at least around here. Means nuthin to me tho LOL... I towed my scoot home on a U-haul trailer and I sure as heck didn't keep it to 45mph...more like 70
  9. sounds logical enuf to me! YVW
  10. The fuse block I used doesn't require grounding... all it does is supply "hot" power thru the fuses to the accessory (which is grounded). I didn't follow the instructions in that link .... None... no fuse, no power to the exposed terminal. I ran a 10 gauge wire from the positive post to the fuse block.
  11. Doesn't look "factory" to me...but, I could be wrong. I thought I was "mistaken" once before but I was wrong about that.
  12. If you put your front tire on the back, won't your back tire be going forward?
  13. I got this one used from a local member...haven't even tried it out yet. http://www.torinjacks.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=111
  14. Last night and Today it's quite wet here too but Saturday was full sun all day .. temps around 60-65 I'm guessing...Sunday slowly clouded over by late afternoon and rain started early evening but the temps were still good and we had a great mother's day family BBQ/party ... (not feelin so well today! ... we had baked beans, beer, potato salad, ribs, smokies, beer, baked potato, garden salad, wine, cake & ice cream, did I mention beer?) I rode all day Sat and a couple hours Sun morn...every day I ride this new scoot, the more I like it!
  15. pic is a little blurry so it looks like it could be the blades out of an electric razor (the circular head kind).
  16. Thought I'd jump in here just to say that I notice mine tends to pull to the left if I'm cruisin down the freeway with the cruise set and I take my hands off the bars. I really don't notice anything as long as I am holding on...even with two fingers.
  17. That's the exact same system I have ... unfortunately, I dropped the danged receiver when I removed it from my '87 (was gonna mount in on my '06) and it don't work no more! :crying:
  18. Any idea how your roadie compares to a 1200cc Sportster in power ... could the roadie take the sporty or? I know my '87 could wax the sporty once I hit 3rd gear and that's riding 2 up. Dunno about how my '06 would do against it.... yet!
  19. I can't comment on what year is better than another but one thing is for sure.... The BLACK ones are the BEST !
  20. sounds like a "selling feature" ... it changes it's own oil .... drive it for 12000 miles and that's 4 qts of oil... an oil change!
  21. You must be referring to that collection of Harley parts in the corner....
  22. ...and I finally got my shop cleaned up so here's my "one bike" garage... did a good job of cleaning and organizing dontcha think?
  23. I had totally forgotten about those PITA pumps I encountered last Aug on our trip to LosOsos. Man-oh-man did I cuss. We have nothing like those up here in CanuckLand. Why do they make those ridiculous pump nozzles like that anyway...could it be just to PO us bikers?
  24. Sounds like the kind of "hearing aid" I need -but- the above benefit can work against ya ... see, if a person finds they have to repeat things more than twice, after a while they just give up
  25. Not true... the former SLD (Speed Limiter Device) had defects and constantly attempted to deter and limit my wildness. My current SLD works flawlessly (from my perspective) .... doesn't limit anything! Having said that, maybe the former SLD worked the way it was intended...I'm not so wild anymore LOL naahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
