  1. Your right!!! I apologize to you and MarCarl for offending you. It's your forum and I'm not looking for a place to chit chat and joke around just a little advice . I assumed, and assumed wrong that certain posting areas were for certain things. I was wrong. Thank you for your help and I won't be troubling you with my opinions any longer.
  2. Well Carl it's obvious your not a help full person and WHAT??? a trial membership means nothing!!! With guys like you who would want to join, and please don't say you were kidding THAT'S for the watering hole NOT tech talk I don't have time for CHILDISH comments!!!! STRIKE TWO!!!
  3. Yammer!! Thanks I was wondering about that so this morning I did it that way we'll see if that works also WHAT IS A BLEEDING TOOL!!! is it the same for a bike as acar where do I buy one at a reasonable price a dealers price has got to be high and for that matter the closest one is 20 miles away!!
  4. When you say FOREVER what do you mean I did leave it over night with thehandle taped pulled in and the bleeder valve open and the fluid went down just a tiny bit. Guys keep in mind sometimes I have to read things 3 or 4 times before I get what you mean I'm not very bright when it comes to mechanical things it takes a while to sink in!!! pretend like your talking to a 10 year old!!
  5. Can't get the clutch to bleed or work .When I bought the bike the clutch was going out I bled it and it came back just fine I put about 200 miles on it and it went out again and I tried to bleed it but nothing I thought I saw a leek from the pipe line so I replaced it and now again nothing any ideas?? Small air bubbles come out when I comprees handle but nothing major..

  7. I see that, just seems like it's stuck on with glue and I'm just a bit leary about prying it off. I'll give it a shot thanks!!
  8. I have to remove the gear cover to get at the slave cylinder to replace clutch line I removed all the bolts but before i go and try to pry it off I need to make sure theres nothing else to look for I only found 7 bolts and the service manual IS NOT very clear as to what to remove any one done it before???
  9. Any one got a site for good quality cassettes I looked on e-bay and any thing good like Pink Floyd dark side of the Moon, ZZ Top AC/DC/ Led Zeppelin etc... hell they want like $10 plus shipping Back when I was buying them NEW I think they only cost lik $3.99 or in that area. I thought maybe 50cents for a cassette I even went to the flea market today here in Tampa not a single cassette to be found. Don't have a MP# player and don't want to buy a CD player, just want a few tapes for those long distance can't find a good radio station rides

  14. I have to replace my clutchline/pipe which is located right underneath the engine I DO NOT have a jack adapter and using wood blocks I can raise bike but the jack is in the way really NO room to work any ideas as to how I can raise it. I would just like to get the front off the ground about a a foot or more with the rear tire on the ground. Jack is 12" wide with 9" between lifts.
  15. It's gonna be a few days waiting on pads and clutch hose and rebuild kit should be back on road next week thanks for all the help!!
  16. Thanks I think I might also rebuild slave cylinder this is the second venture I've had and both had clutch issues. The first one I couldn't find any leaks and when I was shopping around for this one 2 guys who were selling told me they had the slave cylinder replaced it's only about $20 delivered for kit.
  17. It's the CLUTCH LINE underneath the engine not a hose !! Part of that line is metal and part hose it's basically one piece not offered in a braided line.
  18. Any one ever replace a clutch line ?? any thing special to be aware of?? Foundm a leak in mine thought it was the slavce cylinder (lost the clutch) but line leaking never replaced one and can't find any thing specific on it but seams pretty straight forward.
  19. Wrenchrob is CORRECT I've really researched this and the fuel mixture will change based on the cars temp. What happens is the car DOES run cooler without it. There fore it does not reach it's required operating temp. IT WILL NOT EVER RUN HOTTER due to coolant flow being at its max all the time, reason being once the thermostat opens it's open period. With that being said NOT ALL cars have the same type of thermostats or FUEL INJECTION which is computer adjusted (In newer cars) and there's about a ZILLION opinions out there about this so the ANSWER IS "IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON"T FIX IT" Thanks guys!!!!!!
  20. That really helps my decision as to wether or not to join this forum.
  21. i Here in Florida I take out the thermostat on my trucks and cars no nee for heat and that's really the only use for one in a car. But what about a 1999 1300 Venture will it effect fan etc... or nothing?????
  22. I guess maybe I'm posting in the wrong area or just not getting my point across Last week I asked if someone could measure standard handlebar width on any Venture newer than a 1999. 58 views not one response. Today I asked about how to use a regular jack on a Venture 50+ views and no response. Would like to know if I'm posting wrong don't want to pay for this site with this kind of response. Thanks
  23. Sorry to get off subject a little bit but if you want sell those venture bars when you get them off e-mail me please garyboehm1@gmail.com I did get advice about braided vs standard the braided wont wear like standard they supposedly last longer, that was from one of the members here.
