  1. He may just be spending all his time out Ice-fishing. On the other hand he was having some sort of medical issue. I hope whatever it is. that it hasn't escalated into something serious.

  3. The only time he uses that word is when he gets excited over an unexpected SNOW FALL
  4. A close friend of mine has a marine radio mounted on his 1984 first gen instead of the OEM radio and it works just fine. The nice thing is the cd player is designed for a rough ride. Including a headset connection should not me a problem.
  5. True to a degree, I just bridge the batterry cables with the nine volt battery and some leads,or some other convenient location, slip a hose or wrap a rag over the positve cable. At least with the 9 volt battery if you do short something out by mistake you dont get the automotive version of thunder and lightning, and the little guy can not usually produce enough currant to do any serious damage. However sometimes you just have no choice but to cut all power.
  6. I am not sure what your definition of left track is. However mine is definitly not riding the left edge of the lane but rather left of the center line of said lane, in a position were the vehicale ahead can see you in his rear view. In the case of were a cager in on coming traffic wishes to use your lane to pass vehicles ahead of him, if you are in the right track following a car, you will be hidden from view from that cager wishing to make a passing move. He will only see a gap behind the car in front of you and will assume once the car in front of you has gone by, he will be free and clear to borrow your lane. If while riding the left track there is no car in front of you, you simply stay alert and should you notice an opposing cager is about to pull into your lane for the purpose of passing, you simply drift to the center of your lane to get his attention, and unless the guy is a real jerk he will notice you and pull back. I also have no problem riding the center of my lane if there are no cars in front of me, but if there are I stay in the left track. But most of all I ride the tracks as Marcarl described adjusting my position as needed, playing the angles to were I am at all times as visible as possible to any and all cagers and in a way to show I own my little piece of the road. Now given that no one technique is 100% fool proof, I also try to remain aware of possible escape routes should one be suddnly needed.

  13. I am sorry to hear about your Familly's loss. However when one is in pain or discomfort and feeling ready to move on, it tends to be somewhat of a bitter sweet, mixed blessing. A prayer has been sent on behalf of Marca and the rest of the family for the Lord to help you all cope with your loss.
  14. I have been using IE 8 wthout any problems. I tried chrome and firefox but did not like them. Probably largely because a lot of my work related programs do not work well with them.
  15. I like that , thanks Bubber
  16. Heavy plastic or plastic gasket material placed between the aluminium and steel so they do not contact each other and using stainless steel fastners usually works the best. Stainless steel shim stock instead of plastic gasket material can also be used.
  17. So to live a long and healthy life, you must avoid patatoe chips, soft drinks, McDonalds, ketchup and your every day politician..........the first four are doable..... but how do you avoid what is constantly digging in your pocket
  18. As I mentioned in an earlier post. I have a friend who donated one kidney and she is in fine health and say,s she does not even miss it. She lives a perfectly normal life and no she is not on dialysis. Prayers still said for Dorothea, fingers and toes crossed as well. Given that people do donate kidneys and live perfectly normal lives afterwards, plus with the lords help I strongly believe Dorothea will be just fine.
  19. your Dad was very lucky. Speacially considering were it entered the windshield. You would be supprised how many trucks and traillers I inspect that are missing sections of spring just like this. Usually it is found on medium duty trucks used by small delivery outfits or traillers used by small private fleets. Also some transport company's get together and form what they call a trailer pool. These trailers see alot of neglect because no one wants to take responsibility for the repairs required or just cheap out as much as possible. It is amazing that there are not more story's like your father in law's or even worse because of it, and thankfully so. What used to really iritate me was when I worked for big fleets, some techs during inspection would find a hairline crack in these springs usually just behind one of the u-bolts and because they did not want to be the one to have to fix it, they would rub dirty grease into it to hide it. the theory being leave it for the next guy to find so he could fix it.
