    1. Very creative my own self: Thom Williams -> ThomWill 2. FWIW, not a fan of the Mr. Krab name.
  3. From the "Vent" section of the Atlanta paper, today: The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse: you can't post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians, it creates a hostile work environment. I Like it!
  4. Congrats!!!! Keep it up, it does keep getting easier. I quit when my oldest daughter was 3... she will soon be 20.
  5. First, I am very sorry about your friend and hope, with the others, that he stages a miracle recovery. On the cruelty note, I am sure that many of those folks are not really bad people. The internet it just a stand-in for the old middle and high-school lunch table. Probably each of us is guilty of saying or writing something (out of hand even) that was or could have been hurtful to someone. All the internet has done for us is make that searchable, and semi-permanent. Makes re-reading and taking a breath before one hits the continue or submit button a good idea.

    UGH!

Au contraire! When the HOT light is on, we "do" many a donut in the parking lot... http://www.trendsandspots.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/hotdonuts.gif

    Radio Flyer

    Like the lady said... "Awesome!"
  8. I think it was probably the fairing and top box that messed you up. I just went down to the garage and took off the quick release wind screen and backrest from the RSTD. As soon as it quits raining, I will go out in the street with it and see if that makes it better for these kinds of tricks. Not sure I could get away with one of those outfits, though.

    UGH!

Try to remind yourself (as I am often reminded by my northern family) how much you LOVE experiencing ALL of the seasons... nevermind, who are you kidding? it is just cold, wet and nasty, I agree with the sentiment to move south. I lived 8 years in the middle of Maine and have been steadily migrating south ever since.

    Got one!

New bike day is a happy day!
  11. Me with my other ride on our tour of covered bridges in GA. http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj302/ThomWill/Bridge%20Tour/5-26-2008094.jpg
  12. Yes, sorry, I have not been here long enough for everyone to know that I am a smart@ss, but now the word will spread quickly.
  13. Nope, I just always get a kick out of the craiglist ads that say "never ridden in the rain" and especially the "never ridden in the dark" ones. As you know, here in GA, never ridden in the rain probably means "never ridden" Now that it is ruined, though, I will have no choice but to just keep it
  14. After only one week of owning my RSTD, I have now COMPLETELY ruined a perfectly good motorcycle by riding it in the RAIN!! Sure it was only a couple of little drops, but I know that holding out any hope for resale (esp. on craigslist) is now totally pointless.
  15. here is hoping that everything works out for the best for you and yours!
  16. New bike days are happy days! Hope she has many fun and safe miles aboard the new machine.
  17. I know David's mother, she is a good friend of my mother, who lives in Ritchie County, W.V. Thank you all for doing this for David and for her.
  18. Taking my RSTD to the church this afternoon to do Trunk-or-Treat from the saddle bags... I thought of filling one with treats and one with tricks, but my daughter (and frequent pillion rider) insists that both have to have candy in them :/
  19. Since last weekend . Still finding my way around.
  20. Funny how that goes... I think an RSTD WITH a trunk is hard to beat. Did not want the faring, radio, etc. but want that two helmet trunk. So I have the RSTD and soon a Wompus rack and trunk will be added.
  21. Won't be quite 90% here but yeah, I think I will just ride it out... unless we get one of those light snows that happens 1-2 times a year.
  22. FWIW, I went to REI's climbing guy, figuring "who know more about the cold / wind than moutain climber folks?". I told him I was a year round MC commuter and at his suggestion I bought a pair of lightweight mountain climber mittens (they have wind-stop material in layers). MUCH cheaper and less issue prone than electric and with some small cotton glove liners I have had toasty mitts riding to work at 22 F. My thighs (even in over pants) were COLD, but my hands were not.
  23. Thanks! That is Looking Glass falls in the Pisgah National forest on U.S. 276 south.
  24. Tried out the new to me Tour Deluxe this weekend and took my lovely wife up to the top of the peak foliage world (which is the Balsam overlook on the BRP in these parts at this time of year) 350 mile day, perfect weather and my best girl finally able to see some of the stuff that I have only seen without her. The Route: From just outside Atlanta, U.S. 23 (I-985) north to just outside Sylva N.C. picked up the BRP and went out to the Inn at Mt. Pisgah then backtracked back to US 276 to Brevard, NC (Great road!) then U.S. 64 from Brevard to Highlands, N.C. finally N.C 106 (Dillard Road) back to U.S. 23 and home. She took several hundred pictures, here are some of the ones I liked best. Especially the little dog tied to the Goldwing. http://s275.photobucket.com/albums/jj302/ThomWill/BRP%20Run%20Oct%202010/
