    The St. Jude/Mean Dog Memorial Ride is just a little over a month away. According to the poll it looks like we have 13 bikes planning to attend. I know some others have inquired about the ride but havent seen their votes on the poll. I will be contacting St. Jude next week to set up the appointment and I need to give them a number of how many people will be attending so they can arrange tour guides. So, please if you plan on attending please let me know by the end of next week so we dont show up with a large group they arent expecting and not be able to accomodate us, If you are new to the group and have never attended one of our gatherings, this is the perfect time to do so, you get to meet some really fine members and help the kids at St. Jude at the same time.     For those you that will be coming to Memphis, Tn, St. Jude Childrens Hoespital for the St. Jude/Mean Dog Memorial Ride, here is a map and address and contact number for the Flying J. I will be posting the meeting time at a later date, so just keep your eyes posted on this thread and the other 2 concerning this event. It is located right in the middle of where theI-55 & I-40 intersect, it can be accessed from either one, cant be missed.     Come on folks, $1.00, the price of a coke, a candy bar, a bag of chips, loose change from you pocket, 3.3 cents a day for 1 month, that aint much to ask...........you can paypal it, you dont have to be a member of paypal to use it, its very easy, and it doesnt cost you a penny, just the donation amount is all that is charged to your credit card or debit card. So lets show the kids at St. Jude how much we care for them. Last year at Vogel we had about 75 bikes and riders which was a little over 100 people attend and with the raffles and auctions we were able to raise $1700.00 for St. Jude's, so lets get going and shoot that $3000.00 goal down and have a big check to present when we ride to Memphis on Oct. 18, and you can also join us on that ride and see what St. Jude Childrens Hospital is all about.     I have been on the site about 15 minutes, read a couple of threads and this is the second one that we have been referred to as MISFITS, I didnt realize it was sooooo evident................so I looked it up in Websters Dictionary........ Misfit...1 : something that fits badly .......2 : a person who is poorly adapted to a situation or environment So which definition do we (mis)fit.............????

    Way to go Bill, sorry we couldnt make it, Charlene is now on the mend from her surgery, and hopefully she will be able to ride again once she is fully recovered, but I am not expecting her back on the bike till after the first of the year......... Thanks to Tern & Michael for donating their winnings to the fund, and a big thanks to all those that participated in the event.......... We need to do something to stir up the pot again to get this thing rolling again...........

    Mine did the exact same thing prior to the first Vogel, the noise got so bad Muffinman could hear it from his bike, this is the fix that Muffinman and Doken did for me to keep me from selling my 1st gen. My gear looked exactly like yours, but that was the only thing we had to replace, since the other gear on the inside did not have a scratch or mark on it, and it still runs fine to this day after about 18,000 miles.

    Yes, it is a sweet looking bike, I especially like the lower windshield on it compared to the one on my 1300......way too tall, I still have yet to cut it down...........The 950 came as a big surprise, Yamaha very secretive about everything new coming out it seems.........I guess they are going to go head to head with the 900 Kaw that is out........Shoot, had it been out when I bought my 1300, I might have opted for it instead, but at the price I paid for mine, they would have to have lowered their 9090.00 price on the 950. I got mine for about 500 more that that, brand new.

    I havent been there, dont know how to react, but I would just make sure my kid stays away from her kid and make sure you have all the info the police filed and keep copies forever..............     As soon as Charlene is able to get around the house by herself is to take me some well need cycle therapy, I havent been on a ride, with the exception of back and forth to work, since Ashville. I have missed several rides with our motorcycle ministry and its sorely needed and missed................

    My son was again working in Houston when the evacuation notice was given, just like when Gustave came in. Seems everytime he goes to Houston lately, something bad happens there, guess he ought to quit working over there, but he is on his way home now, I pray he doesnt get hung up in all the evacuation traffic, You folks in the path, take cover and be safe, dont try to ride this one out, it could get really really nasty................

    Well Charlene finally had surgery to repair her knee today, she is resting now, hopefully this will help her get on her way to feeling better, dont know if this is going to help with her hip or not, but time will tell if she needs surgery on that. Just going to take it one day at a time, she had a rough time coming out from under the drugs they used to knock her out, she has always had a hard time with that anytime they put her under. Please keep her in your prayers for a fast recovery............
