  1. Full amount sent via pay-pal for 1 patch. Thanks for doing this Eddie. About time someone got a Michigan lunch together. I could get to one this summer but was not able to get to any of them last year. Joe
  2. Well now that's interesting. Think there there is any chance we could trade houses every 5 years. How long would it take to become a Canadian citizen so I could be "illegal" when I came back. Joe
  3. The solid engine mounts are used for the '99 to present Venture and are readily available. The only drawback is perhaps a little more vibration from the engine up to the bars. Although, I did not notice that when I replaced my mounts. So, would there be an advantage to using Teflon like material over solid aluminum? Keep in mind, they are engine mounts and do get hot. Joe
  4. The advantage is that it takes a lot of flex out of the frame and greatly improves handling. The improvement in corning stability is great. Keep in mind that the older rubber ones may be worn also so even new stock rubber one will give improvements. Joe

    Center Stand?

I paid the $300+ for the Rivco centerstand and wish I had not. It was not used all that much, 10 times maybe, and the welds failed when the bike came up and the stand just folder forward taking the bike down on the right side. I posted some photos of that about a year and a half ago. If you do decide to try one, check the welds often. JP
  6. This will be my first attempt at cooking a 20 lb turkey, ..stuffing is bound to be an interesting task well, ..baked yams with brown sugar glaze topped with marshmallows, ..baked acorn squash - with butter and honey, ..homemade egg noodles with chicken gravy - no chance in getting that correct but try I must ..lots of Idaho mashed potatoes with lots of butter and no lumps ..cranberries - an easy one - open the can will do ..warm bread rolls ..and hope I did not forget anything. .. and how am I possibly going to get everything to be done at the same. JP
  7. Do a search for a forum regarding these electric scoots. It seems that there are a lot of expensive battery replacements to consider. I think you would be better off with a 150 cc 4 cycle scooter that gets about 80 mpg. The Chinese are flooding the market with these for about $1000. While there are some build quality problems, they seem to be very dependable once you get through the initial few problems. Joe
  8. Does that mean the saga will likely continue? Joe
  9. 68 here but getting close to turn the bike over to a younger rider maybe next year but that is what I said last year. Joe
  10. Those carbs should work just fine I'm thinking. I had a '83 and fitted a ignition box from a '86. I tried the vacum attached to the carbs and to the #3 intake manifold. I had the flywheel degree marked and found no difference in performance. While not exactly the same thing you want to do, still, the vacum box is the same si it should work just fine. Joe
  11. You should be just fine with those carbs. I had a '83 but did some expermenting with a ignition box from an '86 and tried the vacum line connected to the carb and to the intake manifold on #2 cylinder as the '86 was. There was no difference in performance that I could measure. Joe
  12. But if you have a V twin, a U tube with a carb connected to each end could give you a comparison for the two. That is all you need for a twin. Now, for a V 4 and a separate column for each cylinder, that's a different story. Joe

    winter

You need to put a heater under that pile so you will be able to get out when April arrives. That's a lot of snow. We have had a lot of snow this year, I thought, but not that much. Joe
  14. Na, your younger and tougher. I did suffer a lot of strength loss though and not allowed to exercise too strenuously or too often for about 6 months. The bike was real heavy that first summer. I'm still not sure if I'm supposed to be riding though so I don't ask. For me, it was slow going, hopefully faster for you. See you soon Joe
  15. Nice going Gary. I love that color. It will show off all the chrome real well. As stated above, keep the workouts going. I was in the hospital but one week and it took a year to get my strength back. Hope you are doing better. Hope to see you at lunch sometime. Joe
  16. That sounds like a story with a happy ending to me. The best part is that it seems that no one was hurt. Joe
  17. If you have a full tank then it can easily happen quickly when there is only a little air in there that can expand. Check the charging? Why not just put a voltmeter on the battery terminals. The voltage should be about 14.3 at a little above idle. Don't need to go running around the block over and over again. Joe
  18. About the only time I turn mine on is during a group ride with other Ventures. Then it is great. Yea, the cell phone would be a better choice in case of emergency. Joe
  19. I don't think he even went outside to take the photos. We got 15.4 inches fo snow over night. Spent most of the day getting that cleared to get ready for friday night's additional 2 inches predicted. Joe
  20. Can I have my new bike registered in Canada? Can I, can I?? Maybe I can buy it back from myself and get Michigan plates and just pay the sales tax. Hmmm....maybe not. Joe
  21. Hey Sarg., if you have any trouble selling those 6,000 tickets, set up a paypal account to purchast tickets and they may sell even faster. I may be able to find someone to help me get it back to Michigan. I like your odds a lot better than the lottery tickets. Joe
  22. WOW, that would be great!!! I'd be way ahead in the game as I have three of those already out in the shed. Joe

    Last Chance

Got mine today in good condition with a full charge and ready to go. Have not installed it yet as there is a few months to go before the weather is ready for me to go. The old battery started the bike today without a problem so I'll just let that be for a while. Thanks again Condor Joe
