Original Seat Question
Cougar replied to Buckeye060's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Or do you need to move the trunk back a bit for her? OR is it moved back and needs to be closer for her? Some many Questions ! -
I keep mine in the trunk now.

what ever happened to the old coke bottle method fill glass coke bottle about 1/4 of the way stick a clear hose on the caliper place the hose into the coke bottle into the new fluid. and get the air out of the lines while bleeding. guess that might take forever tho
-
So is that fouled plug from cyl number one then? and if so it is not getting spark to it I guess.

http://news.consumerreports.org/cars/2012/04/brake-failure-spurs-recall-of-3000-can-am-spyder-bikes.html Consumer Reports Apr 16, 2012 11:30 AM Bombardier Recreational Products has recalled certain 2010 Can-Am Spyder models due to the potential for a complete brake failure. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 3,259 Can-Am Spyder RT roadsters from model year 2010 are recalled because a pin securing the brake pedal connecting rod could come loose and fall off without warning. BRP will notify owners this week and dealers will replace the brake pedal connecting rod free of charge. Owners may contact BRP at 1-888-638-5397 When we sampled the Can-Am Spyder, we found it bulky and reluctant to corner. Several of our riders felt they much prefer bikes with two wheels. However, the Can-Am Spyder does have antilock brakes, which is an important safety feature. See which other motorcycles and scooters have this life-saving technology.

Thank Guys. Found the Keeper at walmart for $5.47 http://www.walmart.com/ip/NOCO-Settings-Keeper-with-9V-Battery/16213367 Think I will pick one up today, seems to simple. Jeff -
How much power/volts does it take to keep the pre-sets alive on the 2nd gen ? Wanting to remove my main battery and put another type in as I am doing some experimenting for the Deka and Odyssey battery's , so I was thinking of making something up to plug into the AUX plug in the fairing to keep them alive while changing out the battery, any tips ? Thanks, Jeff

Must be a Jeff thing. almost fell off a ladder last week but caught myself in time. been hand painting an old old home with very high roof peeks.

From what I have seen having them covered like that , the paint starts to wear off. kinda of like having a bra on the front of your car, not so hot for the paint job. I just figure the cost of 3M I will wait a few more years and have the fronts re-painted for that cost :-) PS So VERY nice to see thatyour back home Bob.. ya had us worried there for a bit old boy !

Another stalling question of a different sort
Cougar replied to KevinR's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
YES to the above (2) post. .that DID happened to me. my vent was rusted shut/closed. I had all the symptoms you had as well. opened the cap and drove the rest of the way home. cleared the vent and has been good the last 5 years. Keep us informed on what you find. Jeff -
Now that's funny right there.

yes dielectric grease on those pins as well won't hurt anything. keeps them from corroding more in the future.
