RSTD windshield
eagleeye replied to keithert's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I'm thinking of cutting mine down too, I put a lowering kit on the back and now I look through the windshield. I'll start with 2" and see how I like it. I cut one down on my 86 VR and did like it. Steve- 10 replies

Where was the bandshell? I know there is a nice one in Sheboyban. The next target will be real tough, I'll see what I can do. Steve

Good Job Mike, just saw that you found one. Now for a bandshell. Steve

My friend has one, and we mounted my CT with it, but couldn't mount a new front tire. The center it too tall for the three clamps that clamp the rim. He cut the clamps off and added an inch to each one, and welded them back on, now we can mount any tire with it. BTW, after you get it figured out, it works well. He mounted it to the floor of his garage. You have to get the MC adapter to go with it. Steve

Couple years ago, went to the salt flats for speed week and saw them along side the road, so they are out there. Burma Shave-- Steve

Couger, the HD is Harley Davidson. Dunlop makes the 402 exclusivly for HD. Steve

I put on a dunlop. Steve

I have a MT/90-16 Steve

If I had taken pictures of a HD, dunlop, 402 rear and front running in the correct direction, you would see that the tread design run opposite of each other. If you then take the rear, turn it around and put it next to the front running in the correct direction it would then be the same. I just put a HD, dunlop 402 MT/90-16 of the front of my 05 RSTD. --running in reverse-- Steve

One week ago, I put a harley davidson dunlop 402, MT/90-16WWW REAR tire on the front of my 05 RSTD, (running in reverse direction) and without question, is the best feeling front tire I have ever had, or at least noticed. The first 100 miles, I followed every tar snake, and rode every cement crack I could find, and this thing follows NOTHING!!! I suppose that I should add that one week before that, I put a Nexen CT, 165/80-15 that I had 2 1/4" WWW vulcanized on each side on the back. You won't go wrong, but---to each his own. Steve

Wow, is that a sharp bike. I love the color, and it gives the whole package a very sharp look. Steve

Right now, I use Rotella 15-40 but in my opinion, it isn't what brand that you use, but in actually DOING IT. Steve

Hey Annie, Good luck with the search for a CT. I put one on a couple weeks ago and now have 100 miles on it. Seems real good to me so far. Miles will tell all though. Your sidecar rig is a real beauty. Are you going to put a CT on the rear and the sidecar? "Even more sex appeal?" Wow, that should be something. Steve

But, it's missing whitewalls:95::mo money: Steve

Hey, thanks guys. Checked and it had 40psi, and felt a bit soft yesterday, so before I take it out again, I'll bump it up to 42psi. But that front tire is awesome. Steve

Popping Sound At Idle - 06 RSTD
eagleeye replied to ManWithAVision's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I can't help you out with an answer, but if I were in your position, I'd still take it back to the mechanic that worked on it, and have him check all of the hoses and fittings, and what ever else he thinks. Better safe than sorry. Steve -
Hey Dan, I've been driving by that barn for several years now, and it is used as a barn, not in the best shape for sure. Actually, there is this very cool, strange house, if you will just up the road, and for sale that I wanted to see. And turned on some really cool back roads to get back home on. The back roads ALL had sand on the corners still from last winter, so be careful on them. Had to take a bunch of pics to actually get me, the bike and the barn all in the picture. I think the out west guys might just get the burma shave one though. Steve
