I want to change out my bars on my 07 RSV. I want to bring them back about 1 1/2" - 2". Who has done this and what brand and model number would I use? I bought a set of 1.5" risers off of ebay, nice product, they moved the bars back perfectly except the caps hit the ignition cover at full lock to the point it would crack the cover. So I sent them back and now want to find a longer set of bars. Any info?

Looked like they were going a bit too fast.

Ok, I have the United States on my signature. How do I edite it to add the States that I visited?

We're leaving for Colorado on Saturday morning. Plan on having plenty of water in the cooler and wearing the cool rags on our necks.

Typical of a UAW POS. Call the dealer and ask to talk to a service tech. Or just go to the dealer and have them take a look at it.

Thanks for posting the pics. You got some nice ones of my trailer being pinstriped. I am going to down load those when I get home.

I used a pint of Shop Line paint. It is a cheaper series of PPG paint. It cost $33. I used for two trailers the following materials. 1 qt Black base 1 pt blue 2 gallons of reducer (used for reducing the paint and cleaning the gun) 2 quarts clear 1 qt hardener for the clear 1 qt Gray primer 2 pints hardener for the primer Mequires 2.0 compound Mequires cleaner polisher 1 100% wool wheel 1 foam pad I have about $300 into all of these materials. I would suggest you check around.

Matching the blue was the hardest. I took my saddle bag lid to and automotive paint supplier and he scanned it for the formula. The paint came out purple!!! He added a little bit of this and a little bit of that and presto chango....we had the right shade of blue. The black is just a straight black base. 5 coats of clear, some wet sanding and wheeling and this is the result. There are a few spots that need resanded and wheeled out. My wife says " leave it alone it's fine".....nope, it's gotta be perfect. It was ALOT of work. Don't know why I get myself into these things................

Finally got the trailers done. The blue/black is mine and the black one is my brother in-law Don's. They are not 100% perfect, there are some blemishes, but all in all, they came out pretty nice considering they were painted in a garage. Now to get them to maintainance day for some pinstripe. Can't wait!!

I commend you on keeping your cool. I myself would have yanked him out of his car and beat the hell out of him. I had a guy do the same thing on the freeway two weeks ago. When he cut right in front of me, I hit my brakes, then flashed my high beam. The jerk brake checked me, then took off like a bat outta hell. If I could have safely caught up to him, he would have had his butt handed to him. I have no problem with going to jail for pounding someone into the ground. Stupid, I know, but poeple like this just set me off. Makes me wonder how we got to the top of the food chain.

Here is the nose piece and what it looks like with the fender.

Thanks, if your going to Freebirds Maintainance Day, it will be there.

Here are a couple of pics as of last night. The trailer started out white (see my avatar) wanted to match the bike. Galaxie Blue/ Raven Black. The border pinstripe is a brighter charcoal than on the bike. I like it better, it does a better job of defining the blue and black. Working on my brother in-laws trailer too. His is going to be black to match his Midnight Venture. Now if it would just quit raining so I can finish the nose piece that houses the cooler.

Reduced fuel economy...that varies

I rode to work yesterday and then some errands. Put 125 miles on the bike. It had a full tank when I started out. When I was done, it took 3.125 gallons to fill it back up. That's 40 mpg. Mostly highway at 70 mph. I do twist the throttle a bit more. If I am REALLY conservative, I can squeeze 46 mpg. I ride an 07 RSV. -
eusa1....nice paint job! Looks sweet!. Condor, I like the chrome tongue.......got me thinking now.............

Nice rig. But personally, I would rather RIDE the bike to my destination and just motel it. You can stay in some real nice places for 2 million plus gas. Then you don't have to worry about unloading that beast on someone else when your done with it.

Replaced the 70's style white wagon wheels with the red and blue pinstripe for some nice aluminum wheels. Now I just need to paint it galaxie blue and raven black to match the bike. Hopefully J-Bird will be at MD so he can pistripe it to match the bike. Let see some your trailers!

C&C Sports in Brighton Michigan has one on the floor. I looked at it about two weeks ago.

How high would gas have to go.....
rickardracing replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
Actually, I plan on riding to work as soon as it is warm eanough in the mornings. I have to run premium in my suv. I get 17 mpg on the highway and I have a 53 mile ride in. That's 8 gallons a day. My bike gets about 42 mpg. That's 3 gallons a day. I forsee about 15-20 thousand miles getting put on the bike this year at the present gas prices. So my riding is not going down, it's going up. -
Drilling Stock Mufflers
rickardracing replied to Whitlow's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My bike (07 RSV) came with a set of Ultra Classic pipes (not installed) I took a 1" hole saw, attached a piece of threaded rod with a jam nut and drilled them puppies out. Nice sound, perfect for me and the pipes look like the stock ones I took off. -
Kind of like buying a new bike that your only going to ride 4-5 months out of the year. Or a new snowmobile that you might get to use 3 or 4 times a year depending on what state you live in and so on and so on. It all depends on what you want and how much your willing to spend. I am the one that works for the money and I spend mine on how I see fit. To each their own!

I got my Garmin 1490T on ebay. It is a refurbished unit. $200. It came with the same warranty that a new one from one of the big box stores came with. No it's not a Zumo, but it works just fine.

Man those Bushtec's are nice but I have a Dart, see my avatar, it pulls real nice, no bounce even when empty, no sway. I am painting it up to match the bike once it warms up and if J-Bird is going to be at Maintainance Day, I am going to have him stripe it to match what he did last year to the bike. Got mine used. The previous owner used it once. I paid $1400. Though some would never pay that much. The deals are out there if you look hard enough.

My father in-law has an 04 , atleast I do believe it's an o4, He has had alot of problems with the bike. Last year he had to replace the cams. He ended up going to gear drive. Ran him almost $2000. He has made comments about regreting getting the HD. He owned Goldwings for years. Wishes he would have stayed with the Honda. You may never have an issue. I think alot of it depends on how hard it was riden and how well it was maintained.
